NEW RECALL:

In case anyone hasn't heard it yet, GM is now recalling 1.04 million 2014 and 2015 Pickups because of faulty seat belts. check your vins everyone.

Why aren't they recalling all these trucks for crappy seat frames as well?

Well, I dropped mine off at the dealer yesterday, and presented them with a print out of this: http://autoguide.com.vsassets.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/PI1354C-GM-Truck-Vibration-Information-Bulletin-1.pdf

I told them that is exactly what the truck was doing. They called back before closing yesterday and said it would be awhile before I get it back because there were so many things in that bulletin that they had to do. So, they are going to go through it without even driving the truck first. Hopefully, when they are done, something in there will fix it.

Hello group. Well what can I say. I fell in love with the Silverado 1500 I purchased brand new recently. Well like everyone here I'm dealing with the vibration issue now. After about a month I took it back to the dealership I purchased it from. Tech test drove truck and told manager there was no vibration. I told the manager I would like to take the tech for a ride to show what I'm feeling. Went out and amazingly then he felt it. Took it back and rebalanced wheels. I tested it and the vibration was still there. Manager said it was tires and normal. I advised I was taking it for secon opinion. Following week I took it to 2nd dealer and they drove it and said there was definately a vibration problem. That week they seperated cab from body mounts, engine from motor mounts, replaced driveline belts, and a exhaust hanger/bracket. They too rebalanced the wheels saying they were way out. In the middle of all that work I get a call saying my truck won't start and they never disconnected battery or any electrical. So I pick the truck up and it seemed a lil better but vibration was still there. The next day on the interstate it actually was worse than before. So it went back for 3rd time. Now I'm being told they are checking runout on the rotors and the axle assemblies. For a 57000 truck I feel I bought something equal to something sitting on a used car lot with 200000 miles on it. My wife refuses to step foot in the truck as she says it gives her a headache. I've always been a Chevy guy but I seriously think I made a mistake with this truck. On the other hand I have contacted a lemon law lawyer and in the process of contacting the BBB. If the vibration is still there after this 3rd time I will let the lemon law lawyer take it from there. I've already lost 2.5 days of work. GM customer care has been contacted twice already and those conversations have been logged along with the 6 videos showing the vibration problem.

I gave my dealer a similar report and they wouldn't do anything past rfb the tires and pico scope. Pico was within spec so they wouldn't do anything else on the bulletin.

because it is within GM's made up spec, they won't. they won't do any work they won't get reimbursed for. It sucks, but they didn't manufacture the trucks, they are just stuck like us holding the shit end of the stick.

Well, the dealer that has my truck is going to do everything in the bulletin...at least they said they were. Which is really cool considering i didn't buy the truck from them. They are my local dealer, but i bought the truck from one that is about 60 miles away.

A good dealer can make all the difference in the world. Sometimes the little guys will go that extra little bit just to retain a customer. My dealer has been phenomenal, they recognize there's an issue and are doing the best they can to fix. I just had 4 Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires installed, again my dealer doing that little bit extra trying to fix the problem. Will update once I've driven at freeway speeds, but so far things are looking good.

Seems that dealer would need rules of engagement other than a news article, unless he’s working on the truck based on what he believes versus a written GM “how to” check and trouble shoot. But then again, none of GM’s TSBs has permanently corrected the issue. So why not, the dealer is probably digging into it like I do sometimes; you can't break what's already broken, right.

I didn't take them the news article, I took them the actual GM bulletin.

GM Representative said he would think about repurchasing my truck if it still vibrated after the 4th and final attempt. I brought it in for it's 5th visit (and for him to see that it still vibrated) and on that visit they replaced the rear shocks and said it was good. So after the 5th visit the GM Rep said they would only do a trade and will not repurchase the truck (conversation between myself and the GM Resolutions Management Team via phone). Now that I have exhausted all avenues attempting to have GM repurchase my truck in good faith I have filled out my BBB Auto Line claim (04/18/2016). Will provide more status updates as they come.

Sorry I didn't read the whole thread.

I don't know if this was already mentioned.

Looking for answers in a different matter, I came across this:

http://www.agcoauto.com/content/news/p2_articleid/110

Scroll down to "out of round".
Quote:

"Bent wheels and wheels with damaged center holes are other common causes of vibration and shimmy. Like an out of round tire, they too can be balanced, but will not roll without vibrating."

so long

Ok, still a bit soon to tell yet. Today I installed a set of Fox coil overs, and a 2.5" rear block that replaced the factory 1" block. I took a short drive (wish I'd driven longer) after the Fox coil overs, and before the 2.5" block. Truck was nose up a bit.... Felt really smooth in the 70-80 range where I was feeling my vibe. After installing the 2.5" block, I went for a good bit longer drive. With the rear block installed, I can feel a steering wheel vibe 35-45 or 50ish that I had not previously felt before changing anything.

I firmly believe after todays experiences, it is quite possible for pinion angle to also be showing up in the steering wheel somehow.

My second phase will be new rear shocks to compliment the fronts. At that time I will start adjusting the pinion angle and see where that goes. I do want to give the coil overs a little time to settle in first.

I also just started a kitchen remodel here at the house as the last of the cabinets showed up this evening, so my progress may be a little slow.

I was having vibrations in the same manner as many here noted. They were at around 38+mph and again around 72+mph, it seemed like they didn't always occur, but did much of the time. I did not believe it was the tires due to my own experiences in the past and after reading parts of this enormous thread. The vibrations were not strong, but the stiff suspension makes the vibration reverberate though the chassis and made it felt through the seat.

1. I had the dealer do a balanced few weeks ago, but this caused a strong distinguishable recurring bump vibration while driving at those aformentioned speeds.

2. I went back and they attempted a rebalance on a tire that was giving the machine trouble, this changed the behavior of the vibration, it made it recurring small bunches of vibrations.

3. Went back again and they checked it again and replaced the tire and I think it finally solved my issues.

So I just want to share this info, because at first I didn't think it was the tires, but after consistency, they happily changed my tire out. The dealer never gave me any trouble and was always friendly.

If your vibration is not strong, but clearly distinguishable, and you have possibly had a balance: do another balance or find a better shop to do it with road force, you may just have a bad tire as I did. I hope my issue remains fixed at this point, as I am hypersensitive to the vibrations/noises my vehicle makes.
