They are asking you to put more miles on it so they can say you broke it when you try to bring it back. Then they hope you will just give up and go away. Nobody from GM will help you based on this thread. They may read it but they are not helping anyone. But lets see what happens in the next couple of weeks, who knows, maybe there will be a story in the news like they did on the SUV's.

There will be a story coming out soon. I was contacted by an editor to ask a few questions. Time to trade before the values plummet if they haven't already!

Editor for what publication?

I have my truck going in on Monday for the vibration issue. Have already been told it's probably just normal. I plan to ask them to explain why GM designed a truck to vibrate and shake and if this is a designed feature, why they don't bring that up when trying to sell the truck to buyers. And I think we all know the answer to this.

Interesting, I picked up my truck after a lot of work (transmission clunk and vibration concerns) and I am a little baffled by the repair order.

1. Confirmed clunking noise per PI1450 (Snap, Pop, Click, Tick or Clunk Noise on Launch) dated March 27, 2015 and applicability of truck . Replaced transmission. PI1450 is applicable to the 8 speed (8L90 tranny (RPO M5U)), but my truck is the 6L80 (6 speed tranny). I called the parts department to confirm that the replacement tranny was in fact a 6 speed which it is the right one. The truck shifts a lot better, but I only have a few miles. I will know more after a few hundred miles, but so far so good.

2. 4WD transfer case recall

3. Shim motor mounts for idle vibration under PIP5211D (Jan 20, 2016), Rough Idle in Drive

I cannot confirm that the vibration is gone at 60 mph, but it does feel better in the 35-45 mph range. The idle vibration is not present right now when stopped and in drive. The tranny shift points are much firmer without the lugging under load due too upshifting to soon.

4. I replaced all 4 tires. Michelin LTX M/S when the truck was relatively new, but found one of the tires had a high road force variation. It was replaced today.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the vibration between 60-75 mph will be eliminated. [/quote

I had the "clunk" on take off which "couldn't be duplicated, allthough I did the second I pulled out of the servicing dealership... Imagine this... there is a fix now huh? Any time you hear "can not be duplicated", or "operating as designed".. you know GM is pulling the wool over your eyes....

I took my truck back to the dealer last week. No work was performed on my new truck. They informed me "this is the way they drive/ride. I asked how to get out of this truck, they offered a small trade in value, as a used truck, less than two months old and less the 1800 miles. (they don't seem to want it back?). I am experiencing a high frequency vibration in the floor of the truck and in the gas pedal and break pedal. I test drove two other new trucks in an effort by the salesman to explain "this is the way they drive/ride" they had issues as well. Seems to be a bigger issue for GM than just my new Truck. I am asking for someone from GM to PLEASE contact me. If anyone has contact information, please share. The dealership asked that I drive the truck a while to get used to the ride/drive. THE VIBRATIONS.

File with BBB Auto Line and you will get some attention from GM! If you are successful you can get a buy back or a replacement vehicle if they can't fix your truck. First I would recommend that you Google to check your state lemon laws to learn the specifics. The BBB filing will get you another dealer visit arranged by GM. Most laws require several repair attempts and a final one by GM. But if the dealer refuses to make any attempt then you may be OK with less. You can also request a GM field engineer visit. Then be prepared for a GM CS rep to tell you it's normal, they will test your resolve. GM may then agree to settle rather than go to arbitration where they usually lose-if you have a valid claim.

There's some documentation involved and several weeks time. But first make sure that your issue meets the test of your states definition of a lemon. Is the vibration bad enough to diminish value tor just a minor annoyance? Did your dealer document that there is a vibration? If not you need to document those conversations. In my state the buyback formula mileage runs from the date you file with BBB, in California it's more liberal. I got a buyback offer that I refused and opted for a replacement because I waited too long to file making the cash offer low.

Information from PI1450 that you can try:

Do you have the 6 speed or 8 speed transmission? My transmission was replaced under PI1450 (clunk on launch). The diagnostic step in the PI is straight forward. Built prior to December 1, 2014.

Warm transmission to at least 140F

Place transfer case in 2WD

Drive vehicle up to about 40 mph

Release throttle and bring vehicle to a stop

Launch vehicle and listen for snap or clunk

Repeat several times to confirm

If the test confirms the noise, replace the transmission. Anyone can do the diagnostic steps. Also, see PIP5200.

I had the 4WD transfer case recall done, and I'm not 100% convinced it worked... not to mention, I still have the super high pitched noise when I actually want to use 4WD

hahaha you think they are going to help you, how cute.... sorry bud, they aren't going to do shit unless you force them to, and even they they will try to deny it.

I occasionally get one when braking or accelerating when I'm already driving. it feels like the truck doesn't know what gear it wants to be in. is this what your referring to?

I (HAD)... and yes I had one of the First 2014's as mine was purchased in August of '13... I dumped it.. I am a GM fan.. surprisingly still am.. but my truck was a Piece of Crap... They repalced the Diff at 7k.. looked like it had a million miles on it.. I had bad radio, replaced climate control head unit after a few k miles, bad dash trim that was warping, bad My link connections, rust on frame, poor paint, poor head lights, vibrations, clunks, black smoke on start up (more than normal) numerous recalls (of course you guys know that) had a couple dash vibrations, whistling high pitched sound from blower, Poor Fuel economy after ECM update..had been getting 20-22 Hwy, after recall couldnt manage 14...308 mile trip before update had a little over 1/4 tank, after update drove on E for 30 miles before filling up...driver seat popping, poor heated seats, wipers sucked, bumper gap on trim wasnt even....I can go on and on... I couldn't do it any more...

But will it make a difference. I doubt GM will acknowledge there's a problem and we could end up the with trucks worth less than they already are.

I'm not sure they could be worth less than they are today. Go to another dealership, pick any of the competition dealerships, and see how they react when you tell them you want to trade in a GM.

Yet some people will tell you it is an extremely small percentage of trucks affected.

If that was true then why would you get that reaction from a Toyota, Dodge or Ford dealer ? And you will get the reaction.

And how come nobody could answer when I asked how my "sensitivity to vibration" magically vanished on my way home from the Toyota dealership ???? And I am not the only one to experience this phenomenon.

Try it, drive to the competition and drive out in one of their vehicles and your "sensitivity to vibration" just might vanish too.

Just like your money did when you bought a GM truck LOL
