If they are to stupid to realizes adding a shim or anything in that nature can fix all these truck from shaking then they have a bigger issue.

GM know they messed up when they built some of these trucks. I'm done trying to tell GM if they have heard about this or that. I even had one guy at GM tell me if I knew so much why am I not an engineer and just fix everything in the world.

Like I said before I hope GM gets hit where it hurts the most. Im thier pockets.

I posted a few days ago that my truck was repaired using wedge shims to raise the pinion angle. Believe me it worked I have no vibration. My dealer replaced the ring and pinion, the tires and hooked up the monitor system to test the vibration. I've driven about 2500 miles since the repair and I'm satisfied. We have scheduled to have the same done to my brothers truck. My reason for commenting on this again is it seems as only a couple of people actually read my post and asked questions. I will post the part numbers for the repair parts tomorrow. It can't hurt, ask your dealer.

Looking forward to seeing the part numbers. Thanks in advance for taking the time to post the info for us!

Here are my personal numbers, and I am not some Ford/FCA slappy paid to go to message boards and bash other OEMs products.

I BBB'd my 2014 Silverado. It was replaced with the same 2015 Silverado. I test drove 12-13 Sierra and Silverado trucks before selecting one...ALL of them vibrated.

I just got a check for $37k from GM. I bought a competing truck with that $37k (not even going to mention the brand).

Finally, I have 2 friends that I have helped get started with their BBB cases against GM...think about how many people out there that have this same problem and either deal with it, or don't know what to do to get it resolved. It takes quite a lot of work to go through the BBB process...let alone understand how to even get started.

This problem is on WAY more than 10-20% of these trucks. I know because I have driven 14 of them myself and they ALL vibrated.

Start a BBB case, save all service documentation, follow the steps and force GM to buy the truck back from you if you are unhappy. This is your only way out.

By BBB you mean the better business bureau correct? Did you not try and go the lemon law route?

If you guys want buy back or trade assist you need to convince your service manager to contact the DMA (District Manager After-sales) and request it. Of course you need to have a Service Manager that cares and wants to help, without it, you are probably dead in the water.

Most DMA's like to keep a low profile, they don't want their phone number or email publicized. Normally the customer doesn't get to communicate directly with the DMA, that's where the Service Manager comes into play.

not true at all

No shit! Didn't you read where I quoted him? He said -The dealer Service Rep. Acknowledged the vibration and most if not all Crew Cabs with 20 in wheels will vibrate to differing extents.

must have missed that, I was catching up on about 10 pages. I post for about a week, get pissed off, then dont read here for about a week.

If its any cancellation I had a dealer tell me that it doesn't affect the 22's.... i didn't say otherwise because I have the 22's and know it has the problem

So after sleeping on it I decided to go for the buyback. Thanks for the response from everyone! Your all correct. It's just not worth the chance and funny enough the service manager and sales person agreed with me.

Spoke with sales manager and he said no problem. He's seeing DM today and for me to call GM and have them call him to confirm everything which I did. According to him this should be short and sweet. My only concern is the 2 payments ($1400) which I'll fight for. Probably worth the loss to get out of this mess!

As of today, 71 days owned, 31days of that was in service. Almost all of the other 40 days has been waiting for service calls. 1712 miles, Not by choice I put a 1000 miles on it (only vehicle). The rest is from back n forth to dealer and test drives.

Thanks again for everyone's input... Really appreciated it... Will update

thanks again for response from everyone.

I think you made the correct choice. I have a 2016 less than 1500 miles in on its second service for the vibration. Anyone familiar with how the buy back work's with a trade in.

Any update on the GM shim number? My 15 is in for;

- Vibration

- Transmission pump noise

- Crack in the front exhaust pipe

- Rear main oil leak

- Drivers seat cushion not aligned

In the vibration, I informed the dealer (where I purchased from) that the rear differential had 1.25Qts of fluid in it when changed @ 5000 miles. In that time, I had put about 1000 miles on it towing a 4200lb trailer at highway speeds, with the occasional steep grade. Now the truck vibrates and makes noise from the rear. The Service manager informed me that all the Silverados do it and it's normal. They have no plans for further investigation or even inspect the rear gear for damage due to the fluid being low for so long. It is scary at times on the interstate, almost to the point of feeling numb due to the vibration.

I have owed many GM vehicles since I started driving in '94. This truck is by far the most disappointing of them all. Sure, it's a great looking truck with a great interior, but I paid for a truck I was told I could rely on and this is not even close. Why GM, why did you have to screw this up??? You could have made something great.

What is the customer complaint number that is the most responsive to customers? I really wanted this truck to work out, but the dealer service department has pretty much given up on trying to fix any of these complaints because they only have a 50% success rate, so why bother.

Mine shakes a little when in gear but at a stop. I occasionally see the tach dip below 500 but it goes right back up. Not sure if I have this issue or not but it kind of reminds me of older V8 trucks. It just doesn't seem out of the ordinary to me.

Some guys have raised the idle to 600 and gotten rid of that vib. Dealer wouldn't do it for me but a tune can. Dont know if dealer can tell if you messed with it.
