Sad part is, I still love GM Trucks, and should they agree to the repurchase without too much hassle, I plan to buy another one (granted the test drive may be more involved this time around). But with 544 pages to date of people discussing this issue, there has to be an underlying cause that needs to be addressed. But you can bet that if I end up having go to to the State run mediation, I'm going to print out all 544+ pages to take them will me to the hearing. I only feel bad for whoever gets this truck next since they won't have the benefit of the Lemon Law on their side.

I'll update as this progresses.

OK, not trying to start an argument but I have to ask. With countless owners posting that their truck did not start vibrating until a few thousand miles after purchase, and all the owners who bought a second, even third truck only to discover that they also vibrated, and all the expense and hassle they went through, why would you a) take the risk and b) reward GM, who has known about this problem for three years, by buying another before a real permanent fix or re engineering is done? What am I missing with this blind loyalty?

Mainly because every vehicle I've owned to date has been GM, including an '11 Sierra, and have loved all of them. I love this truck as well minus the vibration. So I guess you can call it loyalty, but I don't know how blind it is. Is it possible that I could get another one with a vibration, yes, but by then I'll be really good at the Lemon Law process. :) I've also (and correct me if I missed a post) not seen the same type of issues as being un-correctable in the '16's, not to mention I've driven '15 Sierra's and Silverado's that are at or very near the same mileage as mine that do not have the same problem. There are also some accessories I've purchased (the aforementioned tonneau cover) and a bed rug that I can move into another GM Truck instead of have to re-purchase for a different brand and throw that money away. I've also got family that works for GM, some as engineers and I can see how issues like this can come up. GM doesn't have engineers that design the whole truck, someone comes up with the design and departments design individual components. Unfortunately, sometimes when those components are combined, you get issues that come up.

I also don't view it as rewarding them, like I mentioned before, it all depends on how they handle this. If they decide to make me take them to the state for a resolution, then they are out. If they offer to repurchase without any hassle, then at least they are willing to try to make it right and to me that would be commendable. There's always going to be issues, and not just with vehicles, but it's on how the manufacturer handles it that determines if I remain loyal or not.

I had this issue with my truck I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab LTZ Z71 with the 5.3l and 3.42 rear end and 6800 miles. I would notice more of a humming when I was cruising down the highway. It had nothing to do with MPH more RPM whenever my truck would settle in at the 1750 RPM I would have a humming that I could feel in the steering wheel and pedal. I took it to my previous dealer and they said I was crazy then I took it to a second dealer and they said they have had about 3-4 complaints about this. They told me that GM knows about this issue and say it has to do with the harmonics in the exhaust system causing a vibration and they are developing and new exhaust for the Silverados. I asked when this fix was going to be available and they said they have NO CLUE they are designing a new exhaust. I was lucky enough to get a dealer to work with me and are giving me a great trade in on my truck so I just ordered a 2016 LTZ Z71 all the loaners I had have been new 2016 trucks and did not have the issue.

They are just BS you. There are people with aftermarket exhausts and the problem did not go away and I am one of them. Truck still vibrated the same at 70 mph like before. There is no fix and there probably will never be. How many of you remember the infamous piston slap issue of the 800 series trucks?

I made the mistake of thinking GM would have a fix. I drove 6, yes 6, 2016s before i found one without the vibration. I swapped trucks and ate about $5k in the process (only $5k because GM gave me a special trade-in allowance) The Lemon Law thing might not actually work (you can read the hundreds of pages to see those that haven't qualified for Lemon Law even after the required number of attempts/days in the shop). I ended up eating even more money and traded into a Tundra when my 16 started to vibrate at about 4 miles. You can find my story on my website if you want all of the details.

If you are committed to GM, either get a Colorado or the 2500. I don't think there are any vibration issues with the Colorado and it seems the vibrations in the 2500s they have been able to fix. I loved my Silverado LTZ. It was far more of car than the Tundra. The Tundra rides like a truck and doesn't have all of the cool technology but it doesn't vibrate. In hindsight, I would have traded my '15 1500 for a '15 2500 and saved a ton of money! I don't really need a 2500 as my truck is a commuter vehicle (roughly 1,000 miles a week).

I thought for sure GM would have it fixed by the 16s and there are plenty reporting the same issues and GM has the same painful process for trying to throw tire balancing and other nonsense at the trucks.

Update

2/23 received call from new service department . Service manager spoke with his director, won't take it in without GM approval. Afraid they won't get paid for work they'll do ( which will be RFB all over again ).Gave phone number to call GM and request for GM engineer to come drive it. Was told again, these trucks frames are just to stiff..

Called number. Basically started over with new GM advisor. Turns out my case was closed on 1/26 while the truck was still in service. Was told if I'm being denied service that they know there's not a fix. Made it clear I'd like a buyback. Gave till Friday for someone to contact me, if not I'm filling lemon law on Monday.

Ct lemon law is 4 visits and/or 30 cumulative days. Have 31 days, 2 visits + denied service at 2 dealers. Have a lemon law attorney who agrees it's enough to win case.

As of today

52 days of ownership

31 days straight in service

13 RFB tires not counting 8 off new trucks on lot.

Getting a buyback from GM....PRICELESS!!! ( I wish )

Recently got rid of my 15 Z71 and thought I'd give a quick post, my truck did not have the vibe for about 2k miles and then it was come and go until I traded it for something else at 3700. I didn't sell it off due to the vibe and it wasn't "that" bad. It came and went so much I thought it was due to the roads somehow but my new car which can feel every rock and bump "16 WRX" is just fine on the same commute. The truck did seem to have much less vibe when it was very cold out and the tires lost pressure down to about 32 per the valve guage, 34 on the display. Mine was coming from the rear.

Cheers!

Good words of advice, Jeff. I am glad you found something that you are happy with. I know after reading your many posts that you really loved your silverado aside from the vibration issues, but understand perfectly why you would end up having to switch brands. Glad you still hang around and chime in though.

My truck is at the dealership now for the vibration issues at around 70mph and poor radio reception. I called yesterday for a status and was told they put my truck on a vibration machine (forgot what they called it) and found no issues with the truck. They are blaming the 275/70/18 Goodyear Duratracs for the vibration issues.

They also said that they did do an update on the radio and reception isn't an issue anymore. We will see when I go pick it up.

So I have a 2015 1500 5.3 with 3.08 rear and the vibration issue at around 70mph. My truck has been in the shop for a week. They have done the road force balance and still vibrating. I think it's a timing or program issue do to the fact if I let off the gas it seems to almost go away then as soon as I touch the gas it shakes they said they talked with gm and the want to do a picometer!?! Test I dont know what that is does anyone know. I searched and the only thing I seen on the interwebs is a electric picometer test and a picometer is a unit of measurement.

I traded in my 2014 Silverado because of an accident and shabby repairs for a 2015 Silverado two wheel drive with 20 inch wheels on it it has a vibration and a shake I've had it to Chevrolet they've rebalance the tires it is a very minut vibration at 45 it does seem to come and go I'm thinking about buying a set of 17 inch wheels and tires and hoping that will take care of it

The Radio's are still not fixed, there is another thread specifically dedicated to it that I am apart of since I have that issue too. TJay was working with the GM engineers allowing them to do tons of tests and the final solution was no solution at all.

The Picometer measures vibration in the truck. More than likely you will get a 3rd order vibration I believe it is. Its been done for alot of people here with no resolution.

I went to Central Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Ram today in Raynham, MA to see what they could do for me on getting into a new truck since I'm so sick of this POS. they point blank asked me if the truck has the "Chevy Shake", because they were making me sign a document as to any issues I had to say that "I had noticed something in the mid 70's" but avoided anything about severity and other issues... they then said they had been burned on a couple Chevy's already and subsequently offered me 27k for my truck..... had to say thanks but no thanks,
