Wow, wonder who makes the rear ends for GM.

I noticed a balance weight on my drive shaft. A little larger than I wanted to see. I don't recall seeing one before but then I've never made a point to look. I also observed variances in the rear leaf springs.

I tried the spring clamps and have an improved ride (Surprisingly). Will know more about the vibration in a few days.

hey guys, well there is now a recall for the trailer hitches on the Silverado's apparently the welds can weaken more than is allowed and cause people to die.... maybe GM should be in the business of killing.... they seem better at that than building trucks.... check your trucks everyone, my understanding is that it is the Z71 and Max trailering package trucks

Where did you find this out? Mine is going in this week so I will ask them about it. Thanks

The rear ends are sourced out to American Axle who makes them in their factory in Mexico. This company is also makes diffs for other companies as well. Diffs do go out but it is not very common. Check out this link

Or the opposite. The vibrations are now starting to crack the welds on the hitches. People were worried what the vibrations would do long term. This could be the start of the long term effects.

But I like where you're going with your idea. If these new hitches look different and bolt up differently to the frames one could speculate alternative motives. Let the rummors begin! Lol

If you go back about 50 pages, this was something that was discussed when someone had found a cracked shock mount and others were finding loose hardware. It was mostly the u-joint hardware, if I remember correctly.

This constant vibration could be more harmful than an out of balance tire that someone suggested as the tire out of balance is not as constant as what the trucks are experiencing. If you do an internet search of Fasteners vs. Vibration, you will see that this is a real challenge in the manufacturing world, not just autos.

i feel like i am on the same boot with you every time i read a page of post i feel like i am hearing my self explain what is going on with my truck except one thing. my vibration started from day one with the first mile. i have even had 4 sets of tires put on the truck in 2 weeks. my truck is 2015 z71 4x4 LT. is there a fix for this yet i bought 2 Chevy on the same day and i am miserable. my wife will not ride in the truck because it gives her a migraine from the vibration.

If you haven't talked to GM Customer Service yet, give them a call. I wasn't getting anywhere until I told them the truck was making my wife sick and she wouldn't ride in it. We had to drive my '15 back from NC at <70mph to make sure the truck didn't make her sick.

There needs to be a summary in the OP with whats been tried, what works and doesn't, etc. I just started to trying to track down the 75mph vibration in my 14 and theres no way I could read through 543 pages.

You are obviously not a lawyer then.

In summary tires being either replace or re-balanced fixes a majority of the problems Very few have had their vibrations fixed with new drive shaft and or rear end. It all boils down to that there is no real fix. Every vehicle vibrates but this is countered through various things like cab to frame bushings, engine dampners, etc. These new trucks are very sensitive to anything that is out of balance. I think that the past trucks had just as many parts slightly out of spec, balance, etc but the design of the frame/truck absorbed most of them which is not the case with the new design. At the end of the day, most of the 2014, 15, 16 trucks on the road do not have any major vibration problems though if your truck has the problem I am sure you will disagree. As I've said in previous posts, there will not be a fix by GM for this problem. They will slowly but surely engineer this problem out of future year models. Not enough truck having the problem for them to worry about it.

My vib was 75 to 85 with 82 being the worst in the rear. Tightening the axle u-bolts stop my vibration.

I tried that with no luck. I installed the leaf spring clamps and I must say it helped a ton but you can still tell its there. I plan on mounting my GoPro under there later this week once the weather clears to see whats happening.

You guys that solved the vibration issue with new tires...

How many miles were on your tires when you replaced them? Did you buy brand new tires on your own or did the place you bought the "defective tires" from warranty them?

I am taking my truck in tomorrow for vibration issues and radio signal issues. My duratracs only have 10,000 miles on them, im not spending another $1100 on new ones.

there have been a number of people who have had bad shocks with only a couple thousand miles on them

in addition, there was a TSB for the u-bolt connections being too loose from factory, My truck was affected by this, it was corrected with no change to the vibration.
