Update

Not the drive shaft.

The dealer doesn't know whats wrong and they are reaching out to GM Tech for answers.

Found out why transmission factory rest made no difference.... They didn't do it.

So, 5.3's do it, 6.2's do it, 6 speeds do it, 8 speeds do it, Z71's do it, LT's and SL's do it, different gear ratios do it, steel wheels or alloys do it. What is common to all of these trucks? From the front: Wheel bearings?, cv axles?, brakes?, struts (springs anyway)?, Transfer case(?), drive shaft?, rear axles and bearings?, rear ends?, rear brakes and springs.? are six cylinder guys having the same issues? I am intersted to see what the non road test, wheels off the ground results will be. I know my suspension pics up every crack in the road so, i am willing to bet that anything could be causing this right down to buffeting the underside of the truck and transferring through the cab. but then, i am just guessing

What is common? Questionable parts and assemblies built in China or Mexico to sloppy tolerances and with marginal quality control, super cheap OEM tires, and shoddy assembly quality. Mounted on a super stiff frame that amplifies the combined vibration and wobble effect of all these rotating parts.

And for GM to try to fix these trucks is a real operation "Polish the Turd". That is why there is no fix.

Ok. So are we thinking the same thing here? Not engine, not transmission, but is a rotating component? Which leaves front and rear axles and drive shaft. Could it be amplification of a problem through the stiff suspension? I guess with all of the different vibrations called out, i will stick with the 65-80mph one lol.

Also, if it isn't in the steering wheel, can it still be in the front end?

I would also think if it was in the front end it would make the steering wheel shake a lot more. I think it is in the rear somewhere but there have been some full rears changed with no fix but it could also be a bad batch of rear housings or axles.

I think they have to find a truck that does not vibrate and start trading parts with a vibrating truck and see if they can get the vibration to change trucks. I don't think it would take more then two days to go through just about everything one at a time.

This can't be that hard for them to figure out. It must simply be an expensive fix and until sales drop off, they are not worried. GMC sure had a lot of advertising for trucks during the NFL games this weekend. They don't seem worried.

They are not worried because it effects a very small percent of the trucks they produce. Mine still has a slight shake at 70 mph and some off and on vibrations at lower speeds based on outside temps. They have produced over a million of the K2 models now so a few thousand of them that vibrate is not going to phase them. I seen the same thing in the early 2000's when GM had a piston slap problem on some of the 5.3 engines. Forums were going nuts about it but in the end the issue was forgot about.

I'm just surprised the issue has been span across multiple years. If it was a bad batch or only in the initial production year, maybe i could understand. But for so many 2015s to have it as well, boy that's scary. Maybe this is truly a flawed truck.

Do you have this problem pm26? I think you have part of the problem in the stiff frame/mounts amplifying an otherwise minor vibration that may not have been felt in previous years but still may have existed. I don't know if suppliers have changed between 2013 and 2014 but if they haven't then what design changes were made. trucks have been made in mexico since 1994. Mine is made in Mexico and doesn't shake

This is one reason that i can't see them looking the other way because of cost. If they new what the problem was they sure would have had it fixed in the next release. And now it looks like it might be in the 2016's also. I don't think it is only a 1000 or so trucks. Yes it might not be the majority but I bet it is close to half it's just not all trucks and SUV's get up to 65 or 70 mph that much on a regular basis. Something definitely changed from the 2013 models because I had a great ride in mine and wish I did not have to let it go. This has to be worked out somehow.

The only way to work it out is to start a BBB case, take your truck in for the amount of repair attempts you are legally required to do in your state, based on lemon law (4 in Michigan), file BBB complaint online, save ALL repair and service paperwork, tell BBB your truck still shakes after "final repair attempt", setup arbitration date, wait for GM to call 1-2 days before your arbitration date and admit defeat, get your money back or new vehicle. This process is 100% FREE, just takes a little time and leg work.

There are more details, but this is the only way to get out of this mess. I have (almost) gone through the entire process twice now. They fooled me into taking another truck the first time, not this time...I know better.

I test drove a dozen trucks when searching for my free replacement 2015...THEY ALL SHOOK ON THE HIGHWAY. All of them. I couldn't believe it. I ended up picking the smoothest of the bunch...which ended up getting worse as time went on.

Stop spending your own money on guestimate fixes. Stop spending your own money on new tires. Get the BBB involved, and get yourself out of this nightmare of a purchase.

Where in my post does it sound like I have been trying either to get another truck or have been throwing money into my truck?

I know what to do with it, it is just I will have a hard time getting what I would need out of it to be able to afford a new (other brand) truck. My 2013 was a lease and so is my 2015. I still like the truck a lot it is just the vibration problem that is it's downfall. That is why I was waiting to maybe get into a 2016 but they might be in the same boat as the 2015's. I have not spent a dime on any changes because I can read here that so far NOTHING has worked. I feel the same way as to why someone would have a brand new $50,000.00 plus truck still under warranty and throw a bunch of their own money into it to try and get it figured out. I guess some just have a whole lot of expendable cash.

Mine is mexico and shakes

Is it rattle your teeth or make it hard to see shake? Or is it a mild "tire out of balance" type shake? Mine has a very slight vibration but it is currently caked in snow so i chock it up to that for now

Has anyone removed the front airdam to check for a high speed flapping? The vibration that only appears over 70 mph (unlike the "tiny rumble-strip" that appears around 40 to 50 mph) could be wind resistance related....?

No air damn my vibe is 76+ mph, also get a slight vibe while decelerating 50-35. Also have a 2" level if that changes anything
