I take it you along with some others have decided to not read this thread from the beginning. It sucks you have the vibration problem but the % of people with the problem in reality is very low. I have talked to dozens and dozens of silverado owners (mainly at gas stations on the interstate) and I have not had one of them say they have a vibration problem on the interstate. There is also been more than one thread on here asking who has the problems with their trucks and the majority responses are positive with no problems. My truck vibrated at 72 mph but after a re-balance of the tires it is now nearly gone and it is about the same as my F150 work truck and my Jeep at the same speeds. If you have a problem then that sucks but don't assume that everybody else does just to make yourself feel better. If you are not happy with your truck the only real solution is to trade/sell it, take the hit, and go with another brand of vehicle.

Wow...so I go out and buy a $56G truck, thinking GM is a good truck, but failed to go and read a post that originated in August 2013 prior to buying and it's my fault and now I'm supposed to take my hard earned deployment money and just throw it out the window? Come on man, if this post has been running for this long, there's an issue. I'm not saying each and every 2014 and newer out there on the road is vibrating. If that was the case, GM would of done something. What I am saying is there is obviously some problem out there that GM can't figure out. I'm glad you did a re-balance and your vibration is "nearly gone". I've done two re-balances and new tires all around and I still have a vibration. And honestly, being a truck guy all my life, just as I'm sure many others have been, I know how a truck rides. I've never owned anything other than a truck. I don't want a truck that has a vibration "nearly gone". Trucks ride rougher than a car, I get that, but this vibration is obvious. Just as my Harley, if I wanted a smooth riding bike I would of bought a Honda, but I went with a Harley because I like the ride. But that still doesn't mean I would live with a vibration going down the interstate. Sitting at a red light though...of course I want that vibration lol

I'm not on here throwing a fit and demanding answers and saying "Let's charge the hill, who's with me?". I simply jumped on Google and found this forum in searching for answers. As you can tell, with my whopping 3 posts now, I recently discovered this forum and this website for that matter. I wouldn't have came here if I didn't have a problem. My dealership is working good with me and they are taking it in again this week. Yes, it's irritating. It costs me money and time away from work running it back and forth to the dealership. Will they figure it out? Who knows. I sure in the heck hope so because outside this vibration issue I love my truck. It has every dang bell and whistle known to man. I don't have the other issues I've read about like radio reception issues or transmission shifting issues (knock on wood). I have one issue I would like fixed so I can move on and be happy with my new ride.

I just ask that you not jump all over me while trying to figure out this problem and accuse me of not reading 489 pages of stuff before I bought my truck.

Happy New Year!

Took my 2011 GMC Sierra Duramax into dealer for warranty work, "Poor Exhaust Fluid". Dealer loaned me a 2015 Chevy 1500 to use till my truck was fixed. Drove the loaner on the freeway at 65 MPH. Could feel the vibration at 65 and above. Mentioned it to the service writer when I took the loaner back. He said "Keep it quite as we are a where of some of these trucks vibrating". I also own a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain that DOES NOT VIBRATE. Lucky so far I guess. Happy New Year!!

OK. After going through several hundred posts I found one that might fix my problem of having vibration at about 43-52 mph. The FSE fixed it by replacing the seal and pinion in the rear differential so after 2 visits to my Chevy dealer I told them what I found and they went ahead and confirmed that is where my vibration was coming from with their picometer. They went ahead and replaced the pinion, gear and seals which in turn fixed the vibration. I hope this post helps the next person with this issue because it is quite common in the 14 and 15's and some 16's. What a relief to have my sooth ride back. FIY...mine did not start until after 5K and got worse after 10K and then leveled out. The Muskegon, MI dealership did an excellent job. They also were very helpful in fixing the creaking spring noise in the driver's seat and the fast falling tailgate. Great job, Betten Chevy!

I am also experiencing vibration between 70-80 mph. Take it to dealer and they find 2 front tires out of balance. Wife said truck was gone 20 minutes. So they did not drive the truck. Just balanced and assumed it was fixed. You would think they would drive for a baseline before and/or at least after to see if it was fixed. First video is pre balance. Second is after balance. So for some the struggle is real. I just don't think this should be occurring in 40-50k trucks. Or maybe my standards are too high. Also truck has 35xx miles.

The first dealer I went to clearly stated "we don't want your truck". The second dealer started at $32,000 for my 2016 with 600 miles on it. They (Toyota dealer) called over to an affiliate Chevy dealer to see what they would write a check for. After that phone call, they came back to me with a price of $38k. Keep in mind that my truck had a sticker of just under $53k and it was a 16 so they weren't offering 25% off, I paid $49k. I finally got the dealer to $42k and I took it. Take this $7k hit + the hit i took on the '15 they took back (GM gave a $5k trade in allowance via some special code).

On my '15, I tried two sets of tires and a set of aftermarket wheels. This is my own fault, so I don't even count that $3,500 as I was just stubborn and thought maybe I could solve it on my own as the answer from the installer was "it's within GM spec" was just frustrating the heck out of me.

Now, in my free time, I update my very basic website of dontbuyasilverado.com I can proudly say, with the help of this forum, we have stopped almost 20 people from purchasing '15 or '16 Silverados. I know that these couple of dozen deals are peanuts for GM but I can account for them losing more money than I have. I will continue to update the website with forums, online articles and videos of what the vibration looks like. At some point, I will either move on or GM Customer Service will offer me a reimbursement of what I lost and I will sell them the domain :)

Happy New Year!

It boggles my f*cking mind as to why people say "I've been lurking/ following this thread for a while and I just bought XXX and I have the vibe issue" If you've been following this thread, why the f*ck are you buying one of these pieces of sh*t? You have clearly seen the issues we are all having, what makes you think you're going to be so f*cking lucky that you won't?

On another note, I'm astounded that GM has come back to this thread, knowing how this has been going, I would think they would want to completely avoid this and pretend like they are capable of doing something for us, not that these reps have any authority to do sh*t, which is another issue I have with GM at the moment. Although, I am glad they made that post, because I have taken a screen shot of it and now sent it to my lawyer with the part about we shouldn't have to deal with issues on a '15 truck highlighted. So thanks for returning GM, I appreciate it, not that you will do anything to fix our trucks.

sorry for the rant, I just read the last 3 pages and got really pissed off with it

Well got my truck back on Tuesday and pinion and ring gear were replaced along with the the tires being road forced balanced. The vibration at 40 to 55 is gone and now vibrates at 65 and up. Taking it back on Monday to redo the tires, hopefully this will fix it.

GM dealer says its the tires (GoodYear Wrangler) that are the cause of the highway vibrations and its normal. Really don't know what to say to that except BS. There is something seriously weird with the way it vibrates. Not just a tire vibration almost like the shocks aren't dampening the vibrations. Going to invest $400 in the Bilstein 5100 has the stock Rancho's on it now.

Well its been 3 months but I received and installed the Bilstein shocks and Michelin tires for my Silverado. "Problem solved" What a difference those shocks and tires make. Totally different feeling truck. Adjusted the shocks to the highest setting and now with a full tank of gas the front and back are the same height and no more vibrations. Worth the $1400 investment.

GM just admitted to a vibration /shake problem on all full size SUVs (I assume Silverado too)...GM has engineers working on it and it's not an easy fix (quoted) they also think it may be the body mounts are too stiff due to using stiffer mounts to prevent roll overs...BUT I just ran to the dealer this morning after seeing this on the news (google Fox News half way down is GM SUV spot).

After my 3rd trip to dealer after being told it was normal for a 2015 to shake they balanced my tires (which they said was done the other 2 times) THIS TIME I WATCHED...they were totally out of balance ALL 4...could it be this simple???...maybe not I will let you all know once I hit the 60-70 MPH range on the road I originally had the issue...(Monday morning commute, will post results Monday night 1-4-2016)

If this works and I know for sure it's the tires...I'm throwing out these Bridgestones and getting a different set and going the Bilstein 5100 shock replacements.

When I get to my laptop let me add a poll stating if you have these issues or not. You can only reply once to it, so that will give us a better idea of how many members have it, maybe fellow k2 owners who don't have the issue will come in and click no and then we can all compare, based upon our membership on this website, the percentage of us who have the issue or not. Not sure why I didn't think of that in the first place lol

I have one like it on my class action lawsuit thread, feel free to take a look. link in my signature

I'm not sure if I can do multiple polls on the same thread, I'll look and see

you can

i could totally believe that this reduced the issue to acceptable levels. I think that shocks (ranchos) are terrible in this configuration. The shocks do NOTHING to dampen the impacts even the slight undulations felt at highway speed on relatively smooth hwy...

and the Tires? the wranglers just compound the problem, even the LS2 Eagles are better than these. but then again, is it our fault for buying trucks with off road suspension and tires and complaining about the ride quality at 75mph? lol idk...

if it is the pinion causing these issues? by all means, but if it was just the tire/shock combo? i would think they would have fixed it by 16... and mine feels unsettled. lowering the tire pressure did nothing to stop or quell it in anyway.. i will have it on the hwy in couple weeks for 300 mile trip. fingers crossed it's repaired with just the front tire being road force balanced!!

I found two local shops that do tire truing. Since I took some run out measurements and found as much as 3/32" inch on one tire I'm thinking about giving this a try to eliminate it as a possible cause. Also my new rear leaf springs from Deaver should be here tomorrow according to UPS going to try and install them Thursday. I doubt the springs will change anything but hey I'm at the throwing parts at it phase right now. However the tire truing might be the ticket. Ultra sensitive truck might require very round tires, $49.95 for all 4 is worth a shot, most everything I've read about it they say once you have it done the first time, you'll have it done every time you get new tires.

Anxious to here about your Deaver install. Considering atlas springs myself.

"A few observations about my truck's vibrations:

They seem to be worse with higher psi in my 10 ply tires."

I'm thinking that a Rolls Royce might transfer road caused vibration into the car if it should have 10 ply tires. I've been reading this thread closely as I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 Crew 6.2 4x4 with 12k miles and it rides really smooth. In fact , much smoother and quieter than my previous 2008 Silverado Crew 5.3. I've been reading other reviews, Edmunds, others, and I've noticed that many of the posters here are also posting all over the Internet using the exact same postings down to the word, appears a lot of copy/paste is going on. So, I'm beginning to question just how large this problem actually is. Concerning comments that GM may be trying to cover this up; The General is certainly capable of this as history shows by the ignition key scandal. However, GM may have learned its lesson from this as its not over being a judge has recently allowed complainants to sue. One more of these could very well bankrupt the General. So, I'm skeptical about comments that there's a coverup going on. My two bits, calf rope, I'm through :)

2015 Silverado 1500 LT 4x4 double cab 1500 miles:

Ok Folks, I went back to my dealer for the 4th time and after repeatedly being told it's normal and "yes, of course we checked the balancing" This time I said the vibration issue is on the morning news and you need to show me these tires are balanced or that you even checked...Well while I stood there they pulled all 4 wheels and they were so far out of balance it seems like someone just threw weights on any part of the rim.

Rebalanced all 4 tires the truck now sails along at 80MPH like it was a riding on glass...can it really be that simple??? I have a feeling dropping your car off for a vibration they know is a bitch to find they just pull the "That's Normal" standard answer hoping you'll go away.

If it was the driveshaft and the rear it wouldn't go away...some people posted they have to balance their tires monthly to keep vibration form returning...how about having the mechanic clean the dirt off your rim before he sticks on the weights (glued not hammered on anymore) quite possible they fall off...mine were missing a few.

Hope this helps and remember not all those guys working on your car are master mechanics....Start a thread to endorse and promote more trade schools in America...not sure if it's lack of skill or just damn laziness but we need Plumbers, carpenters, electricians and better damn mechanics who maybe care about their careers and go the extra step to eliminate 4-5 trips for simple 30 mins of work !!!

That's my rant...sorry folks and good luck with your trucks.
