Shake or Vibration Issues

The service manager keeps telling me 'they are waiting on a good rear end'. I am not sure exactly what that means.

Maybe it means the next customer they can sell a defective truck to?

Definitely hit the used lot. The ones that are "bought back" can go to the lot without any disclosure of any previous issues which is why GM pushes the buy backs. If your truck is lemon lawed they have to disclose the issue during sale.

This was discussed before and someone stated that their truck which was repurchased by GM showed up on his dealer's lot as a "certified used vehicle" several weeks later.

 

Buying back to GM means finding another sucker to buy the same truck.

There is a used 2015 with 2000 miles sitting on the lot at my dealer. I looked at the carfax and seen 5 service records on it. Hmmmmm......

Hi Everyone, Sorry I've been away from here for a while, it's just been p*ssing me off to no end reading this stuff daily, so I took a break. Anyway, I'm back now, and want to report that I have a new law firm looking into this. I am currently writing him an email with all of the information I have collected over the last few months including everything from the vibration to the radio & wrong tires being put on (Wranglers SR-A instead of upgraded A/T tires)

Truck details:

 

2015 Sierra Crew Cab SLE, 4x4, Z71, 22" Rims, 3,400 miles

 

truck obviously (from me posting here) has a vibration issue.

 

i bought it mid september and have taken the lovely thing back to the dealer 3 times now with no avail. [side note: they first told me it was normal and they would look at it, then they came back with "well no-one else has experienced this issue"] finally the service manager told me that there was nothing he could do about the vibration and that i should see about getting a different truck if i couldn't "deal with it". [side note: i drive 170 miles a day on the interstate, vibration between 65-80 is not something i can "deal with"]

 

so i talked to the sales manager and he offered me 37 for my truck which i financed at 46... its very hard for me to swallow a 9000 dollar loss on a vehicle that i've had for 2 months (little over 2 weeks at the dealer looking into the issue)

 

sounds like some guys are getting some help from the dealers, what did you guys do to get the help, how long did this process take for you?

I would have to take a 12,500 loss to get out of mine. I'm suing GM instead

 

My brother has a 15 4x4 cc 3.6 Colorado and it rides like a caddy. He's had it to about 90 with me and 0 vibrations at all.

Thats lucky, I've read about bad vibrations in the Colorado's, but I have recently spoken to a few people with them, and not one has the issue.

 

I really hate to say this, but as an update as of tonight, my truck is fixed. It just sat at the dealership for a week, and they finally called me and told me to come pick out any set of wheels/tires off any other truck on the lot and they would swap them for me. I hate saying this because I know it's not the fix for most guys here, but my truck rides completely smooth, like you're on glass up to about 95mph, even with cruise set. I stuck with 22" wheels, but ended up picking a set of the black ones that look like this:



They look good, and I guess they work a lot better than the chrome ones I had.

You Suck... I have 22's with the Bridgestone A/T Tires and I have the vibe.. even when I put my 18's with the wranglers on.

 

I'm im the BBB process again and the GM rep offered us ONE MONTHS PAYMENT to make us go away. Is he SERIOUS!?!? We told him we've haven't been so insulted in this whole process as we are right now. THE NERVE OF THESE PEOPLE. He KNOWS this is the second time we're doing this! They didn't even have the nerve to try offering that to us the first time! He didn't even acknowledge the final repair attempt! Nope - 1 months payment.

I do NOT have those tires... let's be clear about that. I have the bridgestone Dueler HL's. Also, there is no vibration in my steering wheel, seat, center console, pedals, or anything now... so I don't think rotating them would change anything.

Gotcha, mine are the Dueler A/T's. They are awesome in the snow for 22's....just wish the truck didnt vibrate. Waiting on the BBB to get back to me with a final answer from GM. Hopefully getting a buyback or a new truck in the next few weeks.

I finally had enough of my vibration and 2 different dealers not wanting to fix it or even attempted to fix it. Always got the whole "it drives like its intended too" so I traded it in on a new truck.. Sad day it was because I really like the truck a lot!

The trucks are only branded as a lemon if they actually go through the lemon law process. BBB, buyback, trade assist etc. do not get branded lemons, and GM can resell them with no recourse or notification to the next purchaser. anyone who does this is just screwing the whoever buys their truck used.

Hey Man, I just read your post, I didn't really take a hit/loss on my truck when I traded it in on my Ram.. Pretty much got a little more the KBB.. It was worth more in my eyes, but at least it paid it off and got me into something that doesn't vibrate! Thanks for the heads up though!

Serious question: Does anyone notice that vibration seems less pronounced on wet roads?

 

Traveled the same highway for years; rained yesterday vibration was there but livable. Today dry: Vibration was much more pronounced.

With that said:

 

I'm not downplaying the issue by any means and I personally feel for anyone who's had/having vibration issues. I hope the matter is finally figured out and resolved.

 

When I purchased my truck earlier this year, during the test drive, there was a noticeable shake/vibration. The salesman stated that the tires probably were out of balance and it was sent to the service department for repair and another test drive before purchasing. After I test drove my truck again, with no shakes or vibrations, I asked what was wrong. Salesman stated that the front driver side tire was out of round and needed to be replaced. They replaced the tire immediately and the shake/vibration was gone. He also said they've seen this issue more than once, new trucks arriving with bad tires that needed to be replaced before being sold.

 

I've since had no problems in 7000 miles and don't anticipate any. It was a noticeable difference when the new tire was installed. BTW, my truck was ordered with the optional 22's and Bridgestone Duelers.
