Got the call, they are going to get me a new truck

Good for you....I just got the approval for a buyback myself & picked a replacement truck ......now the dealer said GM will put the offer in writing etc.... I'm just not sure what the usage fee will be for the miles I had it.

I would go for a 15 again, not loving the new front of the 16's, but haven't got haven't got a figure yet. My parking lot at work has a lime pile to the west and our truck lot is crushed limestone to the east. My thing is a silver or diamond white truck to hide the dust and the options I had on this one.

I'm impressed with my local dealer, who I didn't buy it from, he went to bat for me, and will be my dealer from now on. You often hear service after the sale or phrases similar to it. This whole experience has shown me both sides to it. My purchase dealer was a total POS to deal with once I told them I had a problem and flat out lied about it from day one. Telling me it never had a vibration.

Truck details:

2015 Sierra Crew Cab SLE, 4x4, Z71, 22" Rims, 3,400 miles

truck obviously (from me posting here) has a vibration issue.

i bought it mid september and have taken the lovely thing back to the dealer 3 times now with no avail. [side note: they first told me it was normal and they would look at it, then they came back with "well no-one else has experienced this issue"] finally the service manager told me that there was nothing he could do about the vibration and that i should see about getting a different truck if i couldn't "deal with it". [side note: i drive 170 miles a day on the interstate, vibration between 65-80 is not something i can "deal with"]

so i talked to the sales manager and he offered me 37 for my truck which i financed at 46... its very hard for me to swallow a 9000 dollar loss on a vehicle that i've had for 2 months (little over 2 weeks at the dealer looking into the issue)

sounds like some guys are getting some help from the dealers, what did you guys do to get the help, how long did this process take for you?

The issue is that the dealers aren't going to take any losses, and to be honest, this is not their problem. Any help you get will need to come through GM, I would suggest lemon-lawing your truck, and make them buy it back from you for what you paid.

Did you buy through GM employee or friends/family pricing? If so, start a BBB case as 'arbitration' is the only means of getting a buyback or trade assist you can expect. (When you buy via GM discount, you sign an extra piece of paper saying you will never sue GM in court over the vehicle you just purchased).

Keep records of all your service visits, as you will need them for your BBB case.

In MI, 4 attempts at fixing is all you need, so for me after the 3rd I started the BBB case online, sent a letter to GM (address in the back of your owners manual) explaining you are giving them 1 final repair attempt, then wait. You will setup a date for the repair attempt, get the truck back, if its good, fine, if not, proceed with the BBB case.

You will work with a GM business resource rep and your BBB rep, an arbitration date will be scheduled.

GM will likely call 1-2 days before your arbitration date ( I am yet to hear from anyone that actually had to go to the arbitration, as GM knows they have problems...and the 1 person that claims they had to go to arbitration I feel is lying and are working for GM), tell you they give up and you win, and offer MSRP to MSRP full trade assist.

This whole process can take months, but it doesn't require a lot of leg work...mostly waiting.

Pick out a new truck, realize it also vibrates...then start the whole process again.

Many of us are on their 2nd and third trucks at this point.

Our only option is to continue forcing GM to give us new trucks until they learn how to build trucks that don't vibrate down the road!

I called my dealer today for a status update on my truck that has been there for a week and fourth repair attempt. They told me they have exhausted all they can do on their level and have a gm engineer coming in to check it out. Not sure what all that means but it sounds like they won't be able to fix it. Doesn't sound good....
