Shake or Vibration Issues

I am proceeding with working with the General Manager of the dealership. He was unaware of the issues and we reviewed my service history. He visited several internet links about the vibrations as we talked. He looked astounded as he read the common list of repairs that were done with no fix: tires, drivelines, axles, rearends, etc. I felt very comfortable that he would manage this properly and he let me know that he is on my side with this and that it needs fixed or I need out of it.

 

He was also surprised that he had another open Silverado case with GM sitting outside his service department.

 

By the way I was told the PICO crashed when they were testing mine but they admit that something was definitely vibrating and there is no fix yet. That sounds like they gave up hope on fixing any vibrations.

 

I am not sure what deal we can cook up but may consider a Colorado to avoid these issues.

Do some research first, If I recall correctly, the Colorados have the same problems. I could just be dreaming though

Another thing I noticed while looking at the 2015's and 2016's on the lot yesterday is that they all had 18" wheels. Even the "all star edition" package that seems to be very popular around here and most trucks had included includes 18" wheels where I swear back in 2014 when I was looking at trucks the "all star edition" packages came with the 20" or 22" wheels. I wonder If they can mask the vibes more with the smaller wheel and taller tire sidewall.

thats wy they keep putting 16's 17's and 18's on trucks for testing. My dealer put the stock 18's that I have on in place of my GM Factory 22's that I bought. slightly reduced the vibration, but not much

Every "all star" package I looked at in 2014 had the 18 inch rims. The ones in my area were mainly LT Z71's.

It's irritating, because I bought the truck with the 22" wheels. I bought this specific truck because I like the way it looks. They are all really good looking trucks. There is no reason they should frigging vibrate like this. No wheel or tire should make the truck do that.

Agreed! Mine has the 20's. No reason it should be that sensitive to tires.

 

What happens in a year or so when it needs tires?? I have to go through a bunch of tires and balancing to get it together??

 

Mine still isn't right. Ugh.

So I dropped mine off at the dealer again, they gave me a prospectable exchange truck, actually they let me pick one and take it home as a loaner. No vibe! Has 41xx miles, is a demo like mine was, and it has 22s. It has the street bridgestones instead of the AT bridgestones on mine. It is also a crew cab instead of a double cab, has 3.42 gears instead of 3.08s. Other than that, it's the same - Z71, etc. I like it, but I noticed that the headlights are fogging up on the inside... You really can't frigging win with these trucks.

I got the same issue with my 2014 silverado double cab standard bed,i've just handed my truck to the dealer and waiting for a call hopefuly they'll find a fix for this madness.don't think they'll have it fixed since i've readed ur comments. I only can wish for now

Follow-up from my post from 18 October 2015.

 

I brought my truck into the dealer Monday night. They called me Tuesday afternoon and said that they ran the vibration analysis (PICO?) and it said showed that two of the tires (Continental 20 inch) tested high on road force. They ordered two. They came in on Wednesday and they Road Force balanced them. These read high too. They ordered two more and received them on Thursday. They read high also. They ordered two more. On Friday, they called GM and GM told them that they should put them on the truck and drive it for a while to warm the tires up before they Road Force balance them. GM said that these tires may sit in the warehouse for a while and they can become deformed .They did this and called me Friday afternoon and wanted to keep the truck over the weekend because the vibration was still there. Now they want to investigate issues with the drivetrain .

 

At least I have a dealership that wants to get it right.

Got my vibrator back from the purchasing dealer thurs., they again claim it has no vibration, this dealer is 120 miles from me and GM forces me to take to them instead of my hometown dealer. Still has a vibration, they have now had it 3 times and I also took it to my local to put new tires on, which I paid for. Had the owner of my local dealer drive it today, he agrees there is something wrong with it. I will start the lemon law proceedings next week.

Still has a vibration, they have now had it 3 times and I also took it to my local to put new tires on, which I paid for. so my double cab is vibrating and gm has only gone as far as a 4500 dollar trade assist!!!

 

45k sticker 3 times to the dealer and no fix....

 

 

if i was to go for another truck does anyone know if the crewcab sierra 1500 sle trucks with 20" wheels are seeing high numbers of vibrating

You may want to try the BBB and go for a full MSRP trade assist.

Update on my truck. They road forced the tires and matched the high spots on the tires with the lows on the wheels or whatever you wanna call it. They were so close to giving a complete new set of new tires but they were all within spec. I need new tires here soon because I'm at 33k miles, kinda upset about that lol

 

But, I will say, took it for a 120 mile trip today on the highway and so far so good! Stock shocks suck ass time for an upgrade, if it doesn't vibrate again, I'm hopeful lol
