Unless the part has been modified or specs adjusted, GM is just changing out parts. If the time comes to settle with the customer, GM is filling the blocks by attempting to rectify a repeat issue. People change out parts all the time, because they were broken or it's a different performing part. If a part is not defective or out of specs, you can’t expect it to perform differently just by changing it out? A fix with these trucks is not a singular issue (although some customers may see the issue temporarily diminish somewhat), it has to be a combination with different size wheels, different tires, reinforced mounts, different exhaust, etc. If dealers don't or can't perform the combination, then when the warranty expires and folks begin to modify or there is a new gen with different parts, is when the customer will see a fix. Maybe around 2019?

I went by the dealer for another matter today. Talked to one of the 'advisors' or whatever the people that fill out tickets are called. He and I were in the room by ourselves and I apologized to him and whatnot, more making conversation than anything. He said he 'wished GM would fix this problem. They are going to have to do something'.

My point is its always interesting to hear a different side (and often completely different story) from another source at the dealer. The service manager and general manager have told me slightly different stories. From 'we have had a few, the verified ones were corrected by rear ends' to 'we really haven't seen much of this'.

I've dealt with this guy for years, and he was pretty candid when he was able to be.

Set up my second appt for Thursday to check out my 76-80 vibe as well as my 80- 60 deceleration vibration (steering shaft shakes while decelerating).

I'm also taking it in for a windshield under warranty. Was fine Saturday, walked out Sunday morning and there is a crack halfway up the windshield driver side about a quarter of the way across. Starts at the edge of the windshield, no rock chip or anything. Wtf is that?

At just over 32k miles my bumper to bumper is about to run out and seems like this truck is falling apart as I speak lol. May be time to make some moves if nothing gets corrected
