So far I've dealt with the vibration issue on my 15 Silverado for about 5000 miles. After the first visit about tre issue, its been a pain to get it looked at anymore. I kept pressing the issue and now after two tires being replaced, the vibration seems to be gone. I have a 400 mile weekly comute for work on the interstate. This week I felt nothing, no more console shaking, seat shaking, steering wheel vibration, etc. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's fixed!

There is only one way to get out of this problem and that is to switch brands and never look back, never give GM your business again. I am on my 3rd silvy and mine has slight shakes but I can live with it since I am rarely on the Interstate. If I had major problems and the dealership/GM can't or won't fix it then I would trade, take the loss, and never sit foot on a GM dealership again. I am pretty sure it is not 50/50 who have vibrations as mentioned above. I have asked well over a 100 silverado/sierra drivers that I run into (I am on the road alot for my job) and only a few have complained about interstate vibes so if you count myself then that is 3 to 4%. As much as this problem sucks I do not think it is that widespread and I do not think there will ever be a fix. Reminds me of the piston slap everyone was going crazy over when I bought my 2002 model.

Congrats bud... Mine was cured by a re-balance and a Tire Rotation but I am nervous it may come back on the next rotation... So I keep an eye on this thread...

I'd like to think that my tires are just not being balanced properly by the touch holes at the dealer. I am half tempted to take it to a good tire shop, let them have it for the day, see if they can fix it, and send the dealer I bought it from the bill for it.

I'm not all that concerned about the money, if it fixes it, i will be alright. The service manager from my dealership just called me and said he drove the truck 160 miles round trip from their dealership to another, had it road forced, and he thought it was perfectly fine. "Drove great for what it is" he said. He went on to say that all kinds of people with 22s are having problems, and all you do is feel every little thing in the road with wheels that big, etc etc. I told him it most certainly was not the road, and he said call him next week to come down, and he and the shop foreman, who is "absolutely terrific" in his words, will go for a ride with me and see if they can feel it.

I have 900 miles on the truck. After 400 I took it in and they balanced the tires and said something about a weight in the wheel had come loose. Seemed to fix the vibration a little. However, I can still feel it in the steering wheel, seat and floor from 35mph and up. Took it back this morning and the tech drove it and said he felt the vibration but said it was due to my Bridgestone AT tires. We drove a brand new truck on the lot with the same tires and it shook worse than mine. Is this a bunch of BS or do the all-terrain tires make that much difference?

 

I get that the ride might be rougher buy are the guys in jeeps & trucks with the big, loud mud tires actually buzzing down the highway? He made it seem like the vibration was acceptable due to the nature of the tire.

The tech is full of shit and just covering for GM and the dealer. The tires are not the problem on these trucks (some of them yes due to the goodyears). I would find a new dealer asap that wants to help and not just give you excuses.

I also don't know if I'm being ultra sensitive to the vibration because I know there is an issue now. I've seen some videos guys have posted on Youtube with the vibrating drinks and such. Mine definitely doesn't feel THAT bad. I also drive my wife's Ford Escape every once in awhile and have noticed vibration in her car too (although less than mine). Is there an acceptable amount of vibration? How smooth should these trucks be running? I can't imagine the steering wheel will feel the same doing 70mph as it does while idling...or should it?

Mine shakes enough to vibrate drinks that you put in the cupholders from about 68mph +. Our 2014 Camry SE V6 rides down the highway as smooth as glass up over 115mph, and it could keep going without vibration. No, these trucks aren't cars, but for $50k they should not be shaking up and down the highway like piles of shit.

Aside from that, LOVE the truck, so I hope there is a fix out there for it eventually. So far, I think you're the only other one that has had my exact issue (from what I read, no way I could read this whole thread, just skimmed it). Everyone else seems to have a much more serious shaking, or whole truck vibrating issue. So far, mine is limited in feel to the gas pedal and floor board.

 

I don't get on the interstate often, but I did this weekend for the Clemson game, butter smooth all the way to +/-75 mph (as fast as I went), except for the 1-4 upshifts and sometimes up a hill for a few seconds if it downshifted to 4th or 5th.

 

How did you handle your dealer looking at it four times? Mine told me "they couldn't replicate it." Where would I go from there? Another dealer? Same dealer and demand they "feel it?"

 

Also, since "ours" is apparently different than most others... what types of things did your dealer try to repair it, and where did they think it was originating from? To me it feels like a TC issue as mine is only during shifts and up hills.

 

I don't want a buy back or another truck. I want this one without the vibrating floor board option. I didn't see that one checked off on the window sticker...

 

 

You guys are not the only ones. I have the annoying gas petal vibration / buzzing at freeway speeds. Its so odd, at 65 I can't feel it but at 67, 68, 69, 70, ... It increases in intensity and does not go away. I use cruise control a lot due to it. My dealer saw my larger LT AT tires and said we can't test it with those on there. They apparently swapped em out with a different truck on the lot and said pico reading were "within spec" with factory tires and blamed my larger tire, the "weak?" 3.08 rear end and v4 mode for what I was feeling and said nothing could be done about it (like everyone else here they did rebalance my tires though). I get a decent shake on rougher roads too at around 50-55. Not sure if that is more normal and just crappy Rancho shocks or what? I gotta go in for an oil change so I plan to bring it up again this next week.
