---UPDATE---

I after driving the loaner today, I can definitely say that the Vibration is far less, the rough idle isn't as bad, AND the radio works better. Basically the loaner was better than my truck in every way as far as the issues are concerned. Both trucks are 2015 Silverado LT 4x4 crew cabs with the 4.3 V6 engine. The only difference was the loaner had the Z71 package with the stock 18's, where mine has the 22's on it. I would think that the slightly stiffer suspension would offset the difference in rim size though.

After driving my truck for a while I will say that the rough idle fix that they performed (PIP5228; adjust exhaust and body cab mounts) has definitely helped, the vibe is still there, but no where near as bad. Unfortunately, I think that it may have made the regular vibration slightly worse. I am theorizing that it is because the frequency of the rough idle vibe is no longer canceling out the frequency of the regular vibe, obviously I don't know this for sure. my other theory is whatever they did to the body cab mounts made it worse.

Here are the videos to compare the rough idle before and after fix (they are not the exact same, so you will have to adjust the frames so they are close to the same)

Pre fix:

Post fix:

Recall 15304 (4WD kick on in cold temp):

They performed this fix, however when I put my truck in 4 high, to test for the grinding sound (grinding sound present during turns is an indication that you need this done) and it is still there. so I don't think that it worked.

In addition, I have been talking to one of the sales managers at my dealership, today when I went to pick up my truck, I talked with him, not realizing the other guy in the room was the General Manager. He chimed in when I was talking with the sales manager, and took the issues seriously. He has now taken all of my information, gave me his contact information, and has requested that I send him any and all information that I have regarding the issues. He is now going to be taking over trying to get my truck fixed, and is personally going to contact the the regional rep who said they couldn't do anything to my truck. I will be sending him everything I can think of, including a link here, the links to the videos of my vibrations, basically everything.

I really hope this helps get the issues resolved.

Good luck Jesse, tomorrow I'm swapping wheels and tires with my buddy that has a gmc cc 4x4 that rides smooth. We shall see how that turns out. Either some trucks are more sensitive than others or the wheels and tires are not the problem. He has BFG ta ko2's on factory 17 inch wheels.

That will be interesting to see, I have put the stock 18" on my truck before, and it did help some, but it did not cure the vibration. good luck with it though, I want to see the results.

I got my new 15 double cab 2 days ago and I ended up towing around 7500 to 8000 lbs with it home last night. It vibrated very badly at anything under 70 mph... and smoothed out at that. It's weird as dropping gears or kicking it into neutral did nothing to change it either. Empty the truck was smooth and it also was towing the same load earlier in the day and was smooth as well... I towed a lighter truck (about 6000 lbs combined with trailer) mid day around 100 miles and again was smooth. I will unhook today and see what it does empty but it acts a lot like tires which what it has on it now will be gone next week. I may have slipped a tire on the rim being an ass honestly but who knows.

If you read back, you will find that many people have found theirs developed the vibration after use. Hopefully yours will be a different case though. good luck.

I have read some of the posts here... not reading it all as the thread is stupidly long now at close to 6000 posts however.... and nope, back to normal empty. Either it's the trailer itself or the driveshaft angle in how it was loaded. Already took it out as I said above and it's fine again. My vibration wasn't like a lot of this thread where it's an annoying resonance you feel in the console and obviously drive you crazy.... it was like I had mud built up in the rear rims. Like I said though, it's fine now. It's going to get my tool boxes for work in the next week or two which is an easy 1000 lbs of weight and will have new tires before that as the p series stuff it has are useless on gravel. Then we shall see if it vibrates.

I own a 2014 Silverado double cab and I wanted to get the Sierra but every one I tested had a shake 5 in total so the Silverado I tested did not so I bought it after my dealer let me drive it for the weekend. Also my friend has a Sierra crew and had the the highway shake but all we did was get new tires and it fixed it. I've read that it's not tire related but in this case it 100% was and now we still have do not have vibration at any speeds with 30000km on the trucks and there perfect

not to get too off topic, but I think we all could use a break from dealing with this. Does anybody like the look of the new Silverado or Sierra? Personally, I hate the look of the '16 Silverado, but I do like the look of the '16 Sierra. neither look as good as my '15 but it is what it is.

This is a number that I don't think you can get with any accuracy. Some people may have it and not notice it, some it is very mild, some trucks might never see the speeds where the vibration occurs so they might have it but you'd never know. For me and others it starts right at 70 mph and up on smooth asphalt. Where I'm at the speed limit on the freeway is 70 mph and has just been repaved recently so I get to experience it everyday on the way to work and everyday on my way home. Do yourself a favor and get a RAM, If I could go back in time and do it over again I would get the RAM. My vibration problem didn't show up until about 2000 miles. So don't think just because the test drive went well that you're in the clear.

I recently bought a new Ram quad cab 4x4 Hemi and couldn't be happier . Omg what a nice truck my 2014 Silverado I traded in had the vibe at exactly starting at 20 mph and ended at 30 mph . You could hear it and feel it and was driving me nuts ! It's so nice now not experiencing that anymore and I can now enjoy my truck and am I ever . I absolutely love my Ram best truck I've ever owned and I've owned a few over the years lol . Just thought I'd chime in and I feel really bad for the guys and gals experiencing the vibe in there GM truck I know because I went through it for over almost a year until I couldn't take it anymore .

I'm really glad to hear though that some have got it fixed or at least better to were they can enjoy there truck also !

Truck is in the shop. Vibe sensors have narrowed down to somewhere in the rear end. Propshaft replaced. Pinion/gears on order, to be replaced on Monday. Should have the truck Monday afternoon or Tuesday - vibration free...or so they say! Will update.

I like the new lights and front bumper on the sierra but I think they messed up the grille. Hopefully the new 16 tail lights fit the 15's those look really sharp, not sure how I feel about the new bar led's in the 16 but, led head lights would be a nice upgrade.

After swapping tires today off my buddys GMC the vibe is still there, same speed same frequency, I have pulled the front cv shafts so the only thing in the front that could cause it would be the front hubs, run out was good, possibly wheel bearings, In the rear, measured run out on the hubs everything was good. Vibration frequency is too low to be a prop shaft with a 3.42 rear end if you have the 3.08 a first order prop shaft could look like a 3rd order tire vibe on the scope. I doubt it's bent axles as that should show up as a run out issue in the hubs. All that is left is the ring and pinion or differential. I noticed this morning when both my friends truck and mine were up on jack stands his rear end seemed much tighter less play in the gears and also a lot smoother, when turning the wheels by hand it just felt like it took a lot less effort to turn everything. Everything is pointing to a rear end problem.

Hopefully the techs at your dealership are competent and set-up the ring and pinion properly, it's a time consuming process and easy to get wrong if you don't do it often, and I doubt rear end rebuilds are done very regularly at dealerships.

When I open mine up for inspection if I find a problem I'll take mine to a local shop here called Fearless Gear, they specialize in differentials and are known for having a really good reputation for very high quality work. I'd rather pay out of pocket and be confident things were done properly.

pinion angle responding to the trailer weight?

Maybe but that's pretty chincy. This would be the first truck I have owned ever that shakes so bad it feels like it will fall apart with weight on the back. Once my tool boxes and stuff are in this truck that will really tell the story
