I was told they can see the vibration on the pico scope but its below the GM spec so there is nothing they can do. Les schwab has been more help than the dealer or GM. They have put 2 sets of wheels and 7 different tires got the road force down to 7 lbs on 3 tires and 0 on one tire. Still a vibration at 70, I know for a fact it is somewhere in the drive train, ring and pinion, slip yoke or maybe front cv shafts or combination but not the tires. I've bought gear oil and everything I need to open the rear end and take some measurements. I read on a different forum that 14's and early 15's made in mexico have slightly bent axels from when they were strapped down during shipping. I'd like to pull the front CV shafts and see if that eliminates the vibe but unfortunately they hold the front hubs onto the spindles. Maybe 2wd drive spindles will fit a 4x4 but not really an investment I want to make to try it out, especially since some 2wds have the same vibes, unfortunately different fixes work on different trucks so it could possibly by cv shafts on 4x4s where none of the other attempts have yielded any results. I haven't seen anyone on here with a 4x4 mention replacement of the front half shafts to try and fix the vibe.

Everyone should be questioning this "the pico scope reading is less than GM spec so there is nothing we can do" statement.

What is the reading? What is the GM spec? The dealership should be able to tell you what the spec is, and what the reading is, or they haven't proven anything to you and thus they should be obligated to work on the vehicle. If they do provide the reading and the GM spec, everyone should be posting that information here so others can compare notes and tell whether the dealer is telling the truth or not.

Waiting at dealership for rental vehicle, gentleman in line behind me also just got done dropping off a brand new Silverado double cab. I asked him why he brought his truck in, his response, "Vibrations. I can't drive on the highway. It drives me nuts."

I proceeded to tell him all about the 1000s of other trucks that are just like his, as he was new to the whole situation.

I gave him some advice about the BBB since it was his 3rd repair attempt and he leased on GM employee discount.

We have to continue to spread the word, bring more attention to this, put more pressure on GM, etc. It is the only way we can force GM to actually do something about this problem.

The spec is whatever GM wants it to be as they are writing it. Rest assured, every GM truck to roll off the assembly line will fall within this spec. And if for some obsure reason a truck doesn't meet this spec, GM will simply revise their spec accordingly to avoid paying any out of pocket expense.

Right, which is why as a group everyone should be asking for the measurements and specs in writing, and posting that info here for comparison purposes.

With the measurements and statistics we could compare to other auto groups to see what "normal" is. I'm doubting it feeling like you are on a gravel road at 74mph is normal....

Got a call back from GM customer care today. We had been speaking back and forth for the past few weeks about my issue. Today she tells me they have exhausted all of their options and GM will not offer a buy back for a car that is operating to spec. They dealer wont even look at my truck anymore nor run the pico tests etc so how do they know its operating to spec. Its obviously just their way out of helping us. I wasnt able to get the dealer to look at the truck a 3rd time but I filed a BBB complaint anyway.....hopefully that gets me somewhere. Im going to lose so much money if I had to trade this POS in! Maybe we should all protest in front of our local Chevy dealers this weekend #nonvibrationlivesmatter

Well i have been reading this forum for quite awhile hoping gm would find a fix but so far i havent heard of one. My 2014 silverado cc std bed 4x4 has vibrated since i got it new. I had dealer check it when i took it in for its first service. I added a rc leveling kit with blovks in the rear along with after market wheels and bigger tires. The truck vibrated with both sets of wheels and tires. I put the stock wheels and tires back on for service, they had 3k on them. The dealer rf balanced tires and returned truck. Vibe still present. Took truck back toagain and fix the clunk in the drivers seat when turning. Truck returned and vibe was still there and had to order part for seat. When i took it back 3rd time to have part for seat put in i advised them that vibe was still there and stressed that it was more prominent above 70 mph and even left water bottle in console for them. Well when i picked the truck up i asked what they did about vibe and they said nothing because service mngr said his truck vibrates the same. Ghey put on repair order that they couldnt recreate the vibe. The seat was fixed though. The 2nd and 3rd time i was given a 15 cc short bed and it vibrated worse than mine and i informed them of that. Also all 3 times they only drove truck approximately 3 miles each time and there is no way they got it up to 70mph. I dont drive highway much so i dont notice it all the time but one time at approx 2k on the truck i was on the interstate and thought the truck was going to fall apart but it has not done it that bad since.

At this point i have just under 8k on the truck and not sure what to do at this point or just wait and hope for a recall or fix, any suggestions?

Update in my truck. Picked it up last Wednesday cause I needed it for my trip. They fixed the dents and dings as well as paint. Truck looks new now. Didn't have time to RF tires so he told me bring it back in this week and they'll take care of it. Dropping it off Friday morning and picking it up early afternoon. Gonna go straight to the highway to test it. Doubt much will be corrected. Hate these games GM is playing with everyone.

My trip was 900 miles round trip plus 600 miles of driving while we were there. The average speed was about 76 mph which is right where my vibe is most prominent. Made me want to go crazy after being in the truck for 7 hours straight

I've had my eye on a used Ram 2500 Cummins in western brown, Longhorn edition. Has 30k on it. Wish it was closer but I may have to make the 8 hour round trip trek to get the truck I want.

We'll see what they can do for me on my 1500. I don't wanna be another guinea pig for parts swapping for GM

I am doing something about this issue. I will not buy another new GM truck until I see definite confirmation that these issues have been corrected.

I have a 2014 Silverado 1500 LT Z71 4x4, 18" wheels and is has vibration/pulsation issues. It has been to the dealership 3 times, I have contacted GM and opened a case file, and still have no resolution. I hate driving this truck, it is so freaking annoying and aggravating. Has anyone resolved their issues? The last time it was in the dealership, they had it for 9 days, and then they tell me to keep a detailed record of exactly when the vibration/pulsation happens. I stayed calm, agreed to do this, and now I have to bring it back in so another technician can test drive it and "recreate" the issue. They are treating me like I am making this issue up, like I really want to be wasting my time in a dealership!! I paid a lot of money for this truck and it is terrible. It has been the worst purchase I have made, and I just want to know if there is any resolutions? I also am having a clunking in the transmission at low speeds, it sounds like the trans is going to drop on the ground. What a piece of garbage this truck is. I appreciate any feedback and help. I wanted add that the dealer told me that there was no clunking in the trans because there were no codes to tell him so....what in the hell does that mean? So nobody will ever have anything wrong with a vehicle unless a code shows up? I really didn't think much of my radio being suck a piece of crap until I read so many complaints about the same things that I am experiencing. It seems like an endless amount of problems with these trucks and nothing is happening to resolve them. I blame myself for not researching issues with the truck before buying it, if I would have seen all these issues I would have stayed away from them all together. I personally feel that more needs to be done to get these issues publicized. It's no wonder that they were giving such huge rebates on these trucks, GM feels that the average person will just tolerate the issues or give up fighting about them and eventually trade the vehicle in.

Where do you feel it? Seat? Steering wheel?

It's in the steering wheel at low speeds, then it travels through pedals and seats as speeds increase. It's been in the dealership 3 times and still at no resolution and dealership is trying to make me feel like it doesn't exist. Everyone that has been in my truck or driven it feels it. The last time a technician in the service department went for a ride with me and admitted that there's a problem and then they kept it for 9 days and there was no resolution. They told me to drive it for a week, keep a detailed record of when my issues happen, and then bring it back. They have not told me what they even did to the truck if anything, they simply say that they can't find anything wrong. They did the tires, rotated, checked pressure, and alignment. Another dealership I brought it to did the same thing and said there is nothing wrong, as if this is all in my head. Very frustrating when you go for a ride with the technician and you see and feel the vibration and then they still say there is nothing there. One said it was from dropping to V4 mode. I said ok, lets keep it in V8.... and it still happens. There is no difference in which mode the vibration happens in, V4 or V8. You can feel it from low speeds through higher speeds, but driving in the normal range of 45-70 mph it is extremely bad.
