My vibration came back yesterday, between 70-80mph I get heavy vibrations on the seats and steering wheel. Took video, will edit and post them up later. Pretty bummed about it since I doubt I will get anything fixed via GM. I just replaced the OE shocks with Bilsteins and was about to order wheels and tires here in the next month. I'm gonna take it to the dealer and see what happens, I expect they will try to road force balance my tires and neglect to do any further work since I have modified the suspension.

I will keep you guys updated.

I had been dealing with the random vibes at 70-75mph for 10 months,7500 miles.Put Bilsteins on the 4 corners as well, and it did improve the ride quite a bit,but didn't solve the vibes,So between the vibes, clunking leaf springs, nasty A/C smell at start up,and feeling every little bump on the highways( I live in Arlington and drive I-20 and 360 everyday) I traded it for late model Tahoe LTZ, Quality built vehicle, nice ride, still have room to throw stuff in the back.Truck depreciated $5000 in 10 mo.s,oh well,Love the Tahoe.

Hel I have gotten at least 4 of those already, wanting to know how my service experience was and how I liked my truck. I informed them that the truck was unacceptable and the fact that the dealer has damaged my truck twice now that I was not a very happy camper, as if the REALLY CARE.

Sometimes it's worth it. We complained about the issues and service on our Acadia and a regional rep called us back and we ended up with a $2500 customer loyalty voucher for a new GM vehicle. Used it to get one of these fancy shakerados. So that worked out well for us. Lol.

So are the Bilsteins worth getting? Do they do a decent job dampening all the sharp bumps you feel in these trucks on less than smooth roads? That's when my truck seems to start the shaking.

This thread makes me sad.

I have been test driving new trucks for some time now and sad it has come to that. I test drove a new Ram 2500 w/Cummins and it was flat awesome....that thing, although stiffer, rode smoother on the highway than my truck ever dreamed of. I have never been a fan of ram ( although they have always looked badass leveled ) but made myself test drive one because I was curious about the five link rear end on them. I was flat blown away by the quality of the interior and ride. I hate to jump but am just about to. Best of luck to everyone with this issue, I know exactly how you feel.

I traded my 2014 Sierra in on a 14 Ram 2500 Cummins and have been very happy. I really liked the GMC, looked great (and not a vibrator), nice to drive, but it fell down in the towing department compared to the old 2005 Sierra. The Chevy dealers (I actually like to see in the dark) were not dealing on the HD trucks, and Ram made a screaming deal. The Ram (19K trouble free miles so far) surprised the hell out of me. Much nicer interior, infotainment system is way better, the headlights actually work, and visibility is much better. I have had a lot of trucks over the years, but the Ram is by far the most impressive. I hope GM gets its act together and gets the vibration and other problems fixed because the competition is really getting serious.

I trade my 14 Silverado in because it was a vibrator but it was a blessing in disguise because I to traded it in on 15 Ram q-cab hemi 4x4 and what a truck I love everything about and it's my favorite and that says a lot. Because it's my 7 th truck over the years . 4 fords and 3 Chevys and this Ram is my all around most enjoyable . The Silverado was a great truck and sexy lol but the Vibrarions killed it and made it annoying to drive .

I had the OEM "black" shocks and struts and the Bilstein 4600 HD's made a big difference,If you have Ranchos,i can't comment.I changed the back shocks first because it only took 20 min.and didn't notice a "big" difference, but when i changed the struts that weekend, the difference was night and day. I still had random vibes after the change, but it rode better.

I currently own a 2009 Avalanche and a Camaro ZL1.

I am planning to go test drive a new 2015 Sierra crew cab short box with the 6.2L v8 and am glad I ran across this thread before I went.

I made an account just to ask a couple questions. Do most people here think the vibration shows up immediately and gets worse over time or is it going to rear its ugly head after a couple thousand miles.

Honestly, I am second guessing my decision to trade in my Avalanche, while it does have its problems from having some miles on it, it rides down the highway smooth.

If you were going to test drive a new Sierra today, what would you look for and do with the truck to make sure it doesn't have any issues? It seems like running down the highways with varying speeds (50-80MPH) for a couple hours is the way to go.

My issue along with many others didn't occur until 1-8k mileage. I mean, if you notice it right off the lot, then we wouldn't have bought one right?!

That said, test drive the shit out of it. All speeds, varying acceleration, cruising, etc.

I got one like the GM/Chevy package. I think interior and exterior looks the best out of any other truck on the market. I like the technology inside and outside and WANT to stay in a Sierra, I'm simply working out the details to try to do so.

Thanks for the heads up. I feel like I am going into the lion's den just because I want a new truck.

Don't let this thread scare you away. Take it for a test ride and if you notice any vibrations, walk away. GM sold combined more than a 1/2 million trucks this year and if it was serious, we would have many more people here...
