I doubt the dealer took any kind of loss selling you the truck and I am pretty sure if there is a mistake in the listing that they don't have to sell you the truck at that price. They would rather take the chance of you taking them to court before they take a loss on any vehicle on their lots. Good luck with your next one!

not to be rude, but whether or not they took a loss doesn't matter to me, only thing that matters is the value and the selling price. as far as not selling, in Massachusetts, they are legally obligated to sell at the advertised price, trust me, they tried to get out of it, and it took the threat of public humiliation and legal action to get them to do it. I don't know whether or not they lost money, but thats just how it is

For you guys with aftermarket wheels will the dealer even entertain your complaint?

 

mine aren't aftermarket, but they are the 22" option and they did to a point. they said they are aware of the problem, and that everyone is complaining about it, but it's normal for these trucks and there is nothing they can do. they claim its just how the cylinder deactivation acts. I don't know if your shake is from the deactivation or not though. From what I'm told there is another issue with a constant shake that is believed to be from the rear differential.

I sold my factory wheels. For same size wheels. Same factory rubber. From 75-80 center console vibrates and my ass vibrates. 15k miles not as bad as the dude who posted a video but noticble and without factory 20s I doubt they'll listen to me

yea, so yours is different than mine, from what I've read, that is supposed to have something to do with the rear differential, the shaking mine has is in the steerng wheel and brakes, and at idle predominantly in V4 mode and when the deactivation kicks on or off

My trucks vibration is mostly on the cylinder deactivation and very noticeable at highway speed. have you heard of any fixes for it in your time here? I otherwise love the truck, except for the radio which I'm going to try to get GM to put something else in if I can get the vibration fixed... which seems unlikely

 

Most mfg's suffer from a little vibration around cylinder deactivation/activation. Our Rams do it a little as well. The two Chevy's that were the worst were v6's. The vibration was horrible. You could obviously throttle out of it and avoid it, but it ultimately led to a buy back with one customer.

 

From what I have seen, there is no cure for the AFM vibration. I don't hear a lot of complaints on that one, but it does rear it's ugly head from time to time; just not to the extent of the drivetrain issues that are going on.

I'm the GSM for a Chevrolet/Chrysler/Subaru store. I try and support all the brands. When we picked up the Chrysler franchise a few years back I traded out my Chevy for a Ram. My first was an 11 Sport and the most recent was a 13 Limited. Their is no secret that Chrysler is known for poor QC. That being said, both my Rams were next to flawless (my Limited did have an air suspension issue that took some sorting). I also have a Grand Cherokee and my wife drives a Chrysler 200C with no issues.

 

As mentioned earlier, we have had quite a few paint problems on the new Chevy's as well as a few other issues. Chevrolet's qc has really gone down hill since my 07. I will say Ram has the most cutting edge technology at the moment. Their 8.4 screens and tech integration is awesome. The 8 spd trans works amazing and the Hemi is a wicked motor. We have sold quite a few eco diesels with nary a complaint. I'm sure there have been issues, but I have yet to have one come back. I'd still rather have a Hemi but mid 20's mpg out of a truck would be nice for a change.

 

My 13 with a Vararam intake and diablo custom tune was an animal. The 5.3 is just a dog motor. It always has been. The 6.2 is a whole different animal but Chevys funky packages prevents ordering one in anything but an LTZ.

They rebuilt ours, not replace it and it made a decent improvement. 2 months later though, it's back to being horrible again.

so from what I'm gathering from the qc comment on the ram and gm is to go with ford. I do love the tech in the Ram, but I'd rather have a functional truck without issues, plus I can always swap gear out if I have to. I have to say, I'm kinda surprised with that comment re: Ram, I was under the impression that since Fiat bought them, they were far improved in that area.

 

Now since you have a chevy dealer with your group, what if any is the repair history/ issues with the later model corvettes? I only ask because my dad is looking at possibly getting one, and I'd hate for him to have issues like I'm seeing with the trucks and SUV's.

I'm not too surprised that they mentioned that a larger rim/tire with a more aggressive tread would cause some difference in the ride. louder with a slightly rougher ride yes, I would agree/ understand that one. Shaking/ shuddering absolutely not, I'm pissed that they havn't figured out how to fix any of these issues yet. do you have the radio issues too? GM should make a deal with alpine who makes a direct fit for the screen, and had integration for onstar, vehicle diagnostics, and steering wheel controls. yes it will cost them money, but they wont have to deal with us anymore, wont have to spend more time trying to figure out how to fix it, and wont have to keep paying for the warranty claim every time we bring our truck in for it.

Our radio definately doesn't get the best reception, but we often have our phones plugged in a lot of the time anyways. But that's not our biggest concern. The amount of issues we've had with this truck is outrageous. First two months the AC went out, steering stop was NOT lubed from factory and created a clicking noise when turning. Differential and rear shaft were BOTH built WAY off spec from factory. Vibrations for the last 12,000 miles (we drive a lot, 19,000 miles in 9 months). The steering stop had to be lubed AGAIN. Now the lube on rear leafs in the back left have dried up and there is a loud clunking noise with that. Still waiting to drop the truck off on Thursday to have the engineer work on it for the 10 days they are allowed to keep it. When we brought the truck for the rear leafs the service manager just lubed them up and said "you've got the engineer coming, let's just lube them up for now and we'll take care of it when it's all said and done. Well replace them if they fix the truck" LOL!!! So yeah, he's as fed up with our truck as we are!!! We're at the point where we feel like everything is shaking lose on this truck and come the warrantys end we're going to have some major problems. It's been one thing after another. It's not even like we're nit picking the stupid things, everything that comes up has been an issue discussed on these forums at one point or another. We LOVE this truck otherwise, just sad we've lost our faith in Chevy. We're pushing for a refund of the truck and we'll move on. Hopefully we can find something we'll be as happy with!

Thats too bad about the truck, I love the Rally Edition, it looks awesome. but atleast your lemon law is still covering you, up here in MA, its only good for 1 year/ 15,000 miles, but if your issue was being worked on within that period, you can still file after that is up.

 

Unfortunately yes, I have been seeing alot about the radio. Yesterday was TERRIBLE for mine, I couldn't even pick up any FM stations, they were all static. today was a little better, I could pick them up, but was loosing part of the audio on every station, some I was loosing mids and highs, others I was loosing bass and only getting mids and highs. I'm almost certain its the signal processing in the radio, I'm going to call my dealer in a little while to get it back in. I'm just going to ask them to replace the whole unit, wiring, and antenna to see if that eliminates it, my truck is one of the first ones produced for the 2015 model year, and supposedly the newer radio units are a little better. If this doesn't work, I'll know for certain that it's the processing in the units themselves, and I'll try to get them to put in a direct fit aftermarket unit from alpine, which they designed to integrate with onstar, vehicle diagnostics, and steering wheel controls. but that is probably a long shot. GM will probably just keep swapping it out for their own radios :nonod:. It's only gong to keep costing them more and more money.

 

guess I'll know sooner or later haha.
