I have a 2014 z71 that was bought back by Chevrolet as they claimed to fix the vibration I still have. I purchased knowing it had been an issue at 50 mph, but I was told the problem had been resolved.

I know the dealer I bought it from but would be more comfortable bringing it to another dealer to look at.

Any thoughts on this process?

I did sign an acknowledgementioned that I was made aware of the issue and that another year was added to warranty.

thanks. I did pay far less than market UT just want the vibration to

go away

Wow good to know that GM is just buying back and selling the same problematic vehicle to another person instead of giving it to a group of engineers to test and discover the actual problem. Its great that you got a deal and an extra year of warranty because all the vibration is going to cause more issues down the road. In my opinion if the vibration bothers you then you shouldn't have bought it.

JC, I was thinking last night. Do you think your vibration could have been from the steps themselves vibrating in the wind, and when you took them off it fixed it? Just a thought, but hoping it was the actual re-torquing of the body mounts that did it (hoping for my case anyway).

I was thinking the same thing. Couldnt figure out why he removed the running boards to re-torque.

i had the vibration when i first bought the trucks. only had the steps for maybe 5k miles and took them off recently while they replaced all my tires and shocks. BTW according to the GM Service manual it is 122FT LB for the body mounts.

Good to know, thanks JC, looks like I will be breaking out the tq wrench tonight to get them a little more snug. i have read 122ft lbs a few other places as well. Is this what your GM buddy relayed to you?

I do think since you purchased it acknowledging the vibration they may not be willing to work with you. They technically gave you things in return for accepting the shake. You could always try but in your case you purchased the truck with the knowledge of it have the vibrations. Give it a shot!

Brought my truck in for the vibes and they addressed a recall on it. It says recall #15203 rear break line bracket to rear axle loose. They inspected the bracket bolt, set to 18 ft lbs and retorqued the bolt. BTW the vibes are worse than when I dropped it off. I'm done. Does ANYONE have any good and deep info into getting Chevy to take this thing back? Thinking about trying to go the lemon law route. I've posted elsewhere but nobody seems to have much info.

I only owned my truck for 2 months before GM did a buyback. The vibration was so bad they had it more than I did. I went through opening a ticket with GM themselves, spoke with numerous people there and was frustrated by them daily. I then decided to do lemon law..and I also filed a BBB autoline complaint. This was the ray of sunshine I needed. Within 2 days they had an offer on the table: pick out ANY GM vehicle. I have already voiced my concerns about getting another truck. I live in Florida in the Better Business Bureau negotiator told me this is the best state for lemon laws. I have posted a few times about this...but with sooo many posts it probably got lost in the shuffle. Its been a month now that I've had my new vehicle and everything is fine. I'm still hashing out small stuff with the dealership, but that's not GM.

Oh and tell them you want a change of collateral. There's no new financing with this, they just swap out vehicles.

Thank you!!!!!!!! Glad to hear from someone here in the same state! Seems like with all we've been through it should *fingers crossed* go smoothly. We've filed the BBB autoline so we should hear from them soon. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but getting this truck back in no better state than I left it really upset me, I love this truck! When they told you to pick out any vehicle, was it within your MSRP? Or was it ANY GM vehicle? And if you don't mind me asking, what'd you pick?

So i've been fighting with Gm since October. They have basically told me to go pound sand. None of the dealers in town will help me and the BBB is a waste of time. I found an attorney to take my case but I need an ase certified mechanic to confirm the vibration before he will go to court even though it states a vibration in my numerous work orders. No mechanics in town will help me because no one wants to deal with going to court.

At this point i'm about to just trade it in and cut my losses. Anyone have any new info recalls or just anything that will help me get my truck fixed????????????

I read about the body mounts and i'm waiting to hear back from more people in this thread before I do it.

What state are you in? Also, even if you complained about the vibration and its stated on the WO what did they do? Did they fix things or did they just had you back your truck and note that no vibration was felt? Can you try another Chevy dealer near you? First step is getting the dealership to work with you, if on all work orders they deny a problem the BBB will be of little help because it's basically your word against GMs. Sad I know. Have you looked into the lemon law in your state?

I'm in Oklahoma my selling dealer had a field service engineer come drive it and he said "its the smoothest truck i've ever driven". They have road force balanced my tires about 5-6 times with no change in vibration. I have tried 2 other chevy dealers locally and they both have told me since I didn't buy the truck from them there is nothing they can do for me.

I've called GM customer service and spent hours upon hours on the phone trying to get someone to help me. I emailed their entire upper corporate structure and have received no response. Now when I call they transfer me immediately to their legal department and they tell me that their position has not changed and they are going to do nothing to help me. I can't even get them to put their vibration analysis tool on it.

I have a feeling my selling dealer is the issue here. I gave them 4 chances to correrct the vibration before calling customer service. After customer service called the selling dealer back I got a call from my service advisor accusing me of "going over their head". Ever since then I've had nothing but problems.
