That's funny you should say that I noticed my sun glasses holed rattling this weekend, have you had yours fixed and what did they do?

I used some a/c window foam that they sell to seal up around a window a/c unit that has one side sticky tape. Cut a tiny little piece and wrapped it as best as I could around that little black clip that does nothing but rattle around and make that noise inside the sun glass holder. Some people have said they snapped it off but figured this was a better way and has worked ever since. Mind you I don't use the holder so it never gets used.

Someone had a post on here showing the clip but it's the one furthest towards the back, right side and black in color.

Well guys looks like I had quite the situation with the vibrator. I have a 2014 high country 6.2 and noticed the dreaded shake at 75 mph. I have 7500 miles on the truck. Brought it in to the dealer. They were more then willing to try to fix this. I let them know how much I've read up on the problem and that I wasn't confident. They first tried balancing the tires,,,no luck.. Then new tires,, no luck. New wheels and tires,,,no luck. Rotate the drive shaft,,no luck. Then they told me my drive shaft was way out of spec and that they had a new one on order. While waiting for it to come in, a delivery driver at the dealership ran INTO MY TRUCK!!! damaged the front right side pretty good. They replaced all damaged panels with oem replacements. No dent repair. After the fix they installed the new drive shaft and left me with the new wheels and tires and what do you know???!!!!! NO MORE VIBRATION!!!! Now rides like the dream I always hoped it would be. Couldn't be happier. Hopefully some of you guys have similar luck. Don't give up!

I have a question for you Kenny, did your truck shake everytime and constant at 75 (It would shake as soon as you hit 70-75 and keep shaking for miles til you slowed down under 70) ,or did it come and go randomly while staying at same speed? I have the latter happening with my truck, comes and goes.Thanks.

UPDATE: 2015 Sierra Z71 DBLE Cab, SLE 5.3L 4x4 , Still Shaking after 3rd trip to GM dealer. This time they tried the replacing the rear shock as per a Tech Bulletin to cure the 70mph shake. Haven't driven the highway enough to determine if that vibration is fixed. Predominately the vibration is from 30-45mph at low RPMs in High gear, either 4cyl or V-8. Might buy the Range Active Fuel management module to keep it in V8 mode, but don't want to spend $200, when I personnally think it's a driveline , Transmission , or axle issue.

Anyone try that module???

I feal bad for the dealership cause they shouldn't be the R&D depatment of GM. I will be issuing a "Non-comformance" to GM and will be requesting a "Corrective Action" to their Quality Department. After all I believe they are ISO9001 compliant.

I have the same truck as you and mine vibrates at the same speed. Vibration is primarily felt in the steering wheel and most severe during decel. AFM does induce some NVH when it is active but I believe that is another issue.

FYI, AFM can be disabled by selecting manual mode and toggling up to the fifth gear position. The trans. will up shift / down shift normally, locking out AFM and sixth gear.

I went to the local dealership and got the run around. They said there is nothing they can do, and I should come back at a later date to see if GM has a fix. I talked to them about the drive shaft balancing or other ideas and they said nope all we can do is re balance the tires and weren't receptive to trying anything else. I might try another dealership or give GM some time to figure it out.

So you've just started to notice a vibration in your 15' NHT? Was it there from the start and how many miles do you have now?

Mine is sitting at 1600 miles now and have had it for nearly a month, not even a hint of any vibration. Mine is completely stock except for the borla exhaust.

Mexico built and crew cab seem to separate ours as I remember we had identical build dates from the Max Tow thread. Plus I seen your new jewelry on it.

Right now I have 2.5 yrs. or 33k miles remaining on my warranty. I'm taking the wait and see route for now. I've heard of to many people having different parts / procedures thrown at it with no resolution. No desire to get involved in all that.

With the exception of the minor vibration issue, my truck has been fantastic. By far best truck I have ever owned.

That's almost what I have been thinking. I've done everything to my truck myself because I haven't had a good track record of dealerships treating vehicles with the respect I do

Vibration was from the start off and on to varying degrees. I should have brought it right in when I got the truck, but oh well. Truck has 1300 miles on it now and to be honest the vibrations are slowly getting softer, but far from gone.

Again my list:

Vibration in steering wheel and seats. Harsh Ride / seem to feel every crack in the road. V6 to V4 , V4 vibration. 19000 miles.

I have been religious about having tires rotated per GM maintenance program

I noticed last night that 1 and only one tire is cupped on the outside shoulder - worse than any others. The others you can see the siping bars, this one they are gone.

Anyone seen alignment issues?

Being a Wrangler owner in the past, alignments were critical or you experience - wobbles / vibrations

I am starting to think that there may be an alignment issue causing some of my vibrations..

The truck goes in Monday and I will tell them about the tire and ask about vibration analysis tools they use.

I own a 2014 Silverado High Country. I am also experiencing the V8 to V4 “shake, rattle and roll” and after reading hundreds of post on several forums concerning the matter, got worked up over a “defect” that is not really a defect. Yep, after figuring it out myself it become apparent the truck “IS” operating within design perimeters, hence, dealerships’ assessment as “normal” regarding the “shake, rattle and roll”. I took my truck to the dealer and complained and now feel less than smart for not doing the research before taking action. At the risk of alienating someone this is how I see things.

1. To be very honest, other than wanting perfection, this issue doesn’t pass the “so what” test. It’s not a show stopper just an annoyance. Silverado is a truck and when you change the power to weight ratio of 3 tons of truck while driving, things are going to be less than perfect but mpg will increase.

2. Heck, I can count the times I’ve ever seen the V4 mode because I almost never consistently drive within that range and most likely accelerating beyond it. I believe most of you are too; with your foot to the floor.

3. When you buy a 3 ton truck with a 6.2L engine…well, obviously “mpg” is of no concern. And other than appeasement and the perception of good customer support, I believe GM may have come to the same conclusion being more concerned with gearing up for 2016 than fixing something that is a “non-defect”. As Blade would say, “someone always got to skate uphill”.

4. If I was so concerned about mpg a small foreign pickup would have been sufficient instead of one of the best and biggest American truck ever made.

5. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. If you throw away a truck because of this matter someone else will surely prophet! And when you take your truck to the dealership for something like this they might screw something else up just looking for something that is not a problem

6. Understand this, I believe the whole matter is “someone” else’s agenda, definitely not something that concerns me.

@ kchaggins - That is the most ridiculous comment I have ever read, If it's not your concern, why bother write 5 paragraphs.

I paid (or am paying) for a $44,000, "Professional Grade" truck, I don't expect it to drive like BMW or handle corners like a Corvette, but it should not be vibrating. As for the "mpg" , most truck owners don't buy the vehicle for gas mileage efficiencies. That is a government mandated number that the manufactures must meet. Thankfully this model can be switched to V8 mode, minus 6th gear, by method described by 'EastCoast HD' in previous post.

Thank you 'EastCoast HD' for confirming this feature, I thought that there was something wrong with the "manual mode' , as I was trying different gears to check for the vibration issues.

On a seperate note, I also noticed the "traction control" doesn't actual shut off. Or it does, but the " stability Track" stays engaged to prevent the rear end from breaking loose above ~ 30mph or from coming around, preventing the "power slide" or "donut" horse play. Again a mandated "safety" feature.

Anyway, My 1993 Ford Ranger V6 Ext Cab w/ 4" suspension lift and 33" BF Goodrich never vibrated. I was original owner and installed al the goodies after warranty expired, never had a problem. Goes to show, more technology, more bells and whistles,....more potential problems.

This vibration was noticable when I test drove the truck, but was told it was a"flat spot" on tires from sitting as it was an early model. I called bullshit, and the sales guy said it's all under warranty if there are and issues.. Now they just need to find the cure for the issues.

BTW..I wont let it bother me anymore if 'kchaggins' wants to make my payments, lol....actually it would still bother me, just slightly less

kchaggins ... I have driven a '99 Silverado LT extended cab 5.3 3.42 Z-71 for 14 years and 300,000 miles... still own it and still rides like a dream. Replaced it with a new 2014 Silverado LT Double Cab 5.3 3.08 gears Z-71 and wish I never did. This truck shimmies, shakes, vibrates all the issues you see on these post. GM has "looked" at it more than several times, and found it to be 'driving as designed'. IF this is true, GM design engineers should be fired.

As a side note, I am starting to think some of the vibrations are coming from the transfer case. When switching into 4 Wheel Auto (at high speeds), there is gear noise and a high pitched "whining" that is very noticeable.

Either way, this could be an excellent truck. The vibrations just need to be figured out!

Hello Guys. I recently purchased a 2015 Silverado Rally Edition and i too have the vibration issue. The dealership i purchased from bought back my first truck 2 weeks ago which was also a 2015 rally edition with the same issue. I just put it back in the shop for the same vibration as the first truck. I have a source that has shed the light on the problem with these trucks and i would like to share it. The problem is the worm gear being warped from a heat cycle issue Gm had at its plant. They are fully aware of this but have'nt decided to issue a recall just yet. Infact i was also told that a lot of the dealerships are not even aware of this yet explaining the problems with diagnosing the problem, because Gm is keeping it under wraps. Go next time to the dealership with hopefully a little more knowledge than you had before. Hope this helps all.
