Truck is gone, traded it for a 2015 Ram Laramie 4x4 5.7 Hemi with 8 speed. Shifts are perfect, no vibration, no shake, no throttle lag or delay. Ram has come along way and so far I would say quality is superb. Take a Ram for a test drive and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Good luck to everyone.

Edit: only downfall is now my wife wants a Charger or Durango and the shift knob takes a while to get used to.

And now u understand why GMs loosing market fast... Good luck my friend

this is about average for most people but for some its not this bad

GM's official position on it is that the truck is working as designed and trucks are supposed to ride like that and its perfectly normal

I hope this video makes it to YouTube. That's exactly how my Silverado acted. "F" GM

ummm, it is a youtube video look bottom right corner of screen window

so many people have this and the don't post videos of it. just get your camera (not your phone) and record video showing what is going on and then upload it to post it here on youtube, its free and costs nothing to do it so do it. the more videos that are posted the more GM has to face this problem as more and more of the public is made aware of it and as long as people stay quiet and don't show the world what is going on with these trucks then GM will never fix them or buy it back from you, after all, you have given them no reason to if you aren't going to let everyone else know about the problem.

Purchased my truck (2014 Sierra 1500 4x4 6.2 Crew 6.5 Box.) about 1 month ago and didn't notice any vibration while on the test drive. I only drove the truck up to 70mph because the speed limit in the state where I bought it was 65mph.

I drove the truck home at 400 miles at around 70mph and I did notice a slight vibration. kind of brushed it off at the time.

Then I trailered some stuff 1000 miles and did one empty run 350 miles and the vibration was maddening at 75mph (Really Irritating to drive long periods)

Once I drove the truck at 75 and 80 mph and backed it off to 65 you could still slightly feel the vibration because you pick up on the feel and notice it more.

Then I found this forum and starting reading about vibration issues.

Here is my evaluation of vibration feel of my truck before any work was done

My scale is 1 being hardly noticeable to 10 the worst case possible)

65mph 1.0 out of 10

70mph 2.0 out of 10

75mph 3.0 out of 10

80mph 4.0 out of 10

Took to the dealer and did a road force balance and they found that one wheel was 8oz off and got GM to replace the tire and wheel.

That made a huge difference. However I still feel a slight vibration at 75 to 80. Here is the vibration feel now:

65mph 0 out of 10

70mph 0 out of 10

75mph 1.25 out of 10

80mph 2 out of 10

I read on here someone said all vehicles have some vibration to a degree. While driving my wifes car I also started to notice vibrations in her car I never had noticed before while HWY driving.

My Sierra has the 20" wheels and with this combo there is a lot less sidewall on the tire to soak up road feel. I think this increases the chance of feeling vibrations vs a 17" or 18" wheel.

We are going to take the truck for Thanksgiving and that will get us to put 400 miles on it to see how it is over a long haul.

The tires may be the culprit as well. They are (Goodyear LS2) cheapies and think that replacing them may solve the issue all together.

I think that personally, I have focused so much about the vibration that I may feel one in the truck no matter what they do.

Good luck to all.

Ben

If the worst you feel is a 2/10 at 80 mph, I'd argue you don't have the vibration problem people are complaining about in this thread. In all likelihood it was your tire. In addition to that, these trucks are stiffer and rougher riding than previous generation trucks. Read a few posts back where I talk about my truck being smooth as riding on air when I loaded it up with firewood last weekend. I think some people have some serious vibration issues, but I think a lot of people, you and myself included, are experiencing the results of the stiffer suspension and paying more attention to it. New tires and shocks should help. But I don't think we have the same vibration problem other posters are complaining about here. These YouTube videos are showing some wicked vibrations and I can just watch them and tell that's not the problem my truck has.

I agree with you that my issue isn't the same. Either way in my opinion these should not be vibrating at all. Especially since most paid $35-50K depending on options. My old 2004 Silverado never vibrated like this.

True they shouldn't, but again these trucks have much stiffer suspension so I don't think they absorb road imperfections like previous trucks did. It all gets transmitted throughout the frame and steering wheel. GM made the suspension stiffer to make the truck tougher for being used like a truck. So in essence the "operating as designed" line is not far off base. And I can attest to the fact this truck performed amazing both off road and when I loaded up the bed with firewood. So the question really becomes whether people feel anything or not and that will vary from customer to customer. I still think new tires and shocks would make 95% of what I feel go away. I really wish Bilstein would hurry up and release a product for these trucks.

Ram makes a good truck. My dad just bought a 14 Laramie. The HEMI is really powerful. Nice interior. Smooth ride. The one complaint he has so far on his Ram is that the section of heated seat isn't as big as it is on my truck. But they still get toasty.

Gm now offering 20% off all sierras msrp until December 1st. Peculiar

That's nothing unusual. They are just trimming the inflated stickers to more normal levels. Those stickers should be 20% lower to begin with. When I bought my truck new in 2006, I got about 20% off the sticker, plus additional money off with my GM card rebate.

I posted a while back with the 70 mph+ vibration. Finally found the time to get the truck to the dealership. They also said that I had a bad (passenger side rear) tire. I was skeptical and was expecting the same issue when I picked up the truck. I hit the hwy right away and I am pleased to announce the vibration is gone. I just hope it lasts now. Good luck everyone.
