Hmmm, crazy. I've said this before......maybe it has something to do with the wheel hub assemblies, who knows?

That's a possibility. I've basically reached the point where I don't want to keep this truck past the warranty period, but the vibration isn't bad enough to start fighting with the dealer. If something breaks or it gets unbearable I'll pursue it but otherwise, I'm just going to cut my losses, save my money, and dump this thing. Hell I may just trade up in a few years after bugs have been worked out.

I'm definitely not sinking any money into changing transmission or differential fluids and I'm no longer pulling out my drop in liner to put in a spray on liner. I MAY, and that's a HUGE MAY, change out the sh!tty Rancho shocks for Bilsteins when they become available and see if that helps with anything. Of course once the tires go bad they will need to be replaced so that may fix something....I dunno. Oh and I'm going back to 87 octane gas. Whatever benefit 89 was giving me is irrelevant at this point and I'll gladly save the $6 a fill-up.

Congratulations GM, you've officially turned off this customer.

Thanks for posting. I've been beating myself up over not grabbing a 2014 in blue topaz. But that is the nightmare scenario if you can't tell on the test drive and it pops up later.

Exactly stay the eff away from these trucks bro. Either buy another brand truck or wait another couple of years to see how this scenario plays out, but think wisely and put your wallet before your desire for big toys. Don't make the mistake I made.

Yea, I kind of laugh at myself how tough it is to go to another brand. Still love the way this truck looks over the other brands. But obviously these trucks are not be trusted and especially not GM for taking care of loyal customers.

Sucks, my has an 09 Tahoe. Been a great vehicle for us. I don't understand why GM can't fix this problem and take care of their customers. To me that is worst part of this as a potential future buyer the reputation hit GM is taking by not admitting the problem and taking care of it.

I'm the same way I think these are simply the best looking trucks on the market. And after all the problems I had with my 2007 I was left jaded and looking at other brands but I just didn't like anything other than the Tacoma, but part of me didn't want to go to a smaller truck. So I thought take a chance on the 2014, get the extended warranty, and enjoy it because what are the chances of getting 2 back to back lemons? Apparently pretty damn good. And you're right the most alarming thing at this point is GM not stepping up to the plate to help us. I understand there will be problems and I'm always willing to give them a chance to fix it. But GM keeps demonstrating they don't care about anything other than lining their pockets. This "New GM" looks exactly like the "Old GM."

My thoughts exactly. I have the accelerator pedal vibration that happens in any gear between 1500 and 1750 RPM's. That started around 4K miles. I also have a slight vibration at highways speeds felt in the steering wheel and floorboard which I think is a completely separate issue. This issue could very well be tires because it is a lot worse in the a.m. after sitting all night and gets better the more miles I drive with it almost completely.....almost is the key word....gone on the drive home after it has sat in the sun a little. Very weird to say the least and not sure what it is....and I have analyzed this a lot while traveling to and from work. I want to take it back to the dealer but have a hard time doing so since the last time they had my truck, completely separate issue, it was gone for 3 1/2 weeks. I really want to love this truck but the glow is gone. If there was another truck out there that "did it" for me I would jump ship in a heartbeat but as it stands there is not and my truck hasn't pissed me off enough....yet...to do anything.

You've stated my sentiments exactly. So for now I'll live with this thing. Every time I see a Tacoma though, with metal skid plates, Bilstein Shocks stock, BF Goodrich tires stock, and a standard V6 engine with no over-engineering going on, I wonder what might have been......

What I find rather bizarre is that these trucks supposedly have highly sophisticated road vibration limiting device built into the new electric power steering system. What does it do? Anyone knows? Maybe instead of dampening the vibrations it actually amplifies them when it malfunctions in some way? Just another food for thought.

Mrs. Barra's mission statement:

GM is driving to become the global industry leader in automotive design and technology, product quality and safety, customer care.

As Mrs. Barra has so kindly stated, GM is a global company. In 2013, global sales were 9.7 million vehicles. Looks like GM has sold about 600,000 pickups year to date in North America which equates to 6.2% of total global sales.

Is GM even pretending to flinch over a few hundred or even a few thousand truck owners that are experiencing issues? One would hope, but realistically? I'm sure the bean counters have done the math and calculated current 2014 owners will suck it up and do what North Amercian "loyal" truck owners do best......trade it in for yet another brand new GM truck with profit margins through the roof.

Just checked the trade in value for my truck it's $33000-$36000. I would take a $13000 hit if I decide to trade the truck in thats' including tax tag and title. I really hope my dealer has a fix for when I take it in next week. :tear:

Yeah you aren't the first person I've seen mention this and I'm starting to wonder if this might be the case. My truck drove great driving home today from work. Read a few posts back where I describe my on again off again vibration woes, especially throughout the day today. If this system is malfunctioning, it could explain why I sometimes have the vibration and I sometimes don't as I've already ruled out a ton of factors. Not that I'm a mechanic and I'm right about what I've ruled out, I'm just trying to think logically about the situation based on the symptoms and circumstances of my vibration. I also haven't heard of anyone getting the steering system replaced but plenty of other parts have been replaced on multiple trucks with no improvement.

Everyone is saying "Come on GM, fix the problem" But I'm guessing that they have yet to be able to figure out what the problem is so that they can fix it. Some things just take time, even in this day and age. They know it's an issue. They just need to be more open about it. Just them promising the customers that they know there is a problem and are doing their best to come up with a solution and to provide updates would make most happy and give some peace of mind.

So I took a gamble and bought some Toyo open country at2's yesterday and it seems to have solved the problem! I was in traffic on the highway yesterday going along with the flow and I looked down and was doing 85mph and was smooth as silk! I can't stress enough how much good tires play an important role in these new trucks. The reason I took a gamble is because toyo has a 45 day or 500 mile ride guarentee and if you are not satisfied you can return the tires. Asked my local tire place all about that ride program and they told me bring them back if the vibration comes back. So I really had nothing to lose. Michelin also has a 30 day ride guarentee program as well. I would gladly shell out the cash to get a decent set of tires if I had known it would take care of the problem a while ago. Pretty much at this point we know GM isn't going to help us and we need to take matters into our own hands (I know we shouldn't have to but that's where it is at this point) I will report if the vibe comes back but for now I can say it's fixed!!

I do not believe for a second that GM does not know what the problem is. Except that this vibration problem appears to have quite a few root causes, all going back to lousy workmanship and inadequate quality control on many parts and assemblies. it would take huge amounts of money to fix these problems, so it is easier to pretend that they do not know how to fix them. Eventually owners of these trucks will either give up or trade them in on something else.
