My truck is currently in for it's 3rd trip to HOPEFULLY fix this problem. So far the dealer has RF balanced the wheels/tires multiples times, swapped wheels from another set on the lot with different Goodyear Tires (went from LS-2 to RS-A's) and they have swapped out the drive shaft with no success. The truck has been in the shop for nearly 2 weeks now. Just heard from the service adviser and they are in the process of sending a GM Engineer out to inspect it. The dealer seems to be on my side.....both the service adviser and manager have told me there is something not right with the truck and they want to make things right for me.....they just have to follow GM at this point.

Will keep everyone posted on the outcome. I am thinking it has to be something in the rear based on some of the most recent posts.

Let's define that "something in the rear end" more accurately: Shoddy assembly of low quality parts made in a third world country, assembled in a third world country using poorly trained labor. Without added benefit of something that is absolutely essential in this process, i.e. adequate part quality, proper training, and adequate quality control.

Well, I need some help. I have been following this topic for awhile now but never posted. Now I could really use some advice. I have a 2014 Silverado crew cab with the 6.2l and 3.73 rear end. I am also getting the vibration in the truck at about 70 miles an hr. It's not a little vibration either. The problem is I have a 4 inch BDS lift on it. I have had it at a dealer for 2 weeks now and they have checked everything they could. Put a drive shaft on from another vehicle, checked the ring gear in the rear, even swapped tires from a stock truck and put them on. It rode even worse with the stock tires. Now they are at a dead end. They obviously verified the vibration, but could not find the problem. Today they called GM. GM basicaly said they couldn't help because it had a lift on it. They said they can't measure certain things because of the lift. The dealer said I could remove the entire lift and then check it again. That's not really an option for me, especially since I don't have stock wheels anymore. I guess I am getting frustrated because I read page after page of this and most of the complains are on stock trucks. If anyone has any advice it would it would be great. I have a $50000 truck that I can't stand to drive anymore because of the vibration. By the way I only have 3900 miles on it and the vibration started before I put the lift on. I just figured a tire or something was out of balance and didn't worry about it cause I was putting new wheels and tires on it. Please any help would be great. I should have never traded my Ford on this truck.

I doubt they will do much for you even if you remove the lift components and put stock wheels/tires on. Is the vibration really so bad that you cannot stand driving this vehicle?

I would try some independent shops that specialize in truck lifts to see if they can check a few things, or at least give you an idea what might be causing the problem.

After owning this POS for 2.5 months, and arguing endlessly with GM for over a month to finally get my slipping, internally leaking, transmission fixed (PIP5175B), I finally got fed up with GM and their customer no service fake apologies and do nothing attitude about the vibration. I contacted an attorney and he pointed out that my state requires arbitration with GM before filing lemon law. I filed with BBB Autoline http://www.bbb.org/council/programs-services/dispute-handling-and-resolution/bbb-auto-line/learn-more-about-state-lemon-laws

I will see what GM offers to do about my 42K vibrator. Im expecting more do nothing attitude. Thats fine. This is a speed bump to the lemon lawsuit where I will get every penny back, and then some. Let the fake apologies begin...................

Transmission is fixed, not slipping anymore. It was leaking internally as per GM TSB PIP5175B.

I then filed with BBB Autoline about the vibe and my selling dealer serv manager refusing to look at again for the vibe.

After a few days I got a call from GM asking for more info. I gave it to them and they called me back a few days later asking if I would go back to my selling dealer and let them try to fix the vibe. I said sure. I took it to them this week and a tech rode along and felt the vibe. We went back and he told his boss, the serv manager, that the vibe DOES exist and he thinks its tires. The serv manager told me he wanted to put new Michelins on it under warranty. I said if you think thats the problem, then do it. I pick it up tomorrow and I hope its fixed and no more vibe.

I can just about tell you what they are going to do I have had mine in 8 times, 3 of the times with the Engineer out and they said that it is within factory specs just get used to it! I will tell what you need to do is keep track of the times that you have it at the dealer how long they have had it out of services make the dealer give you a print-out of what they did with date and times, because after they are done you are going to want to file a claim with BBB Autoline and all that paperwork is going to come in handy, Trust Me.

For any of you with the high speed vibration - have you tried shifting into neutral well above the speed where it starts shaking, and does that change the shake at all?

I was hoping someone here could answer that as well. LOL

im just guessing but I think he was just showing the drivetrain so everyone speculating about things can look and see if "they" see something.

I think its more of a "this is what it looks like" rather then trying to show a problem they think they found, if that's not it then im with you guys because I cant see anything strange no matter how many times I viewed it. would have ben nice if he got on an interstate somewhere and went in a straight line in stead of stop and go turns and such.

maybe he was trying to show the low speed vibration?

Anybody seen this video yet? They put a go pro under the truck and ran it down interstate....

Hmmm. Interesting.

Observations.

The camera looks to be solidly mounted and doesnt appear to move at all during the video.

When the video starts, put the tip of your finger on the screen over the driveshaft, like on the weld seam behind the yoke. Dont move your finger. As the truck accelerates, you will see that part of the driveshaft thats under your finger, move away from your finger. When it slows down, it comes back.

Looks like maybe the transmission mount is allowing some movement of the rear of the transmission, or the driveshaft yoke is moving around inside the rear of the transmission. You can really see it at the end when it gets powerbraked at around 6.00.

I don't see anything abnormal either. I think the movement mikeinmobileal is seeing is caused by rear axle and transfer case movement. This is why there is a slip yoke. This would be normal.

Yeah, thats possible. But the slip yoke allows for fore and aft movement. The movement Im talking about appears to be (camera angles can do weird stuff) a lateral or side to side movement. IDK, just looks that way to me, but Im no expert.

The soft mounting of the xfer case and trans (same mount?) also allow for some movement. I guess excessive movement at speed could cause a vibration, but again, Im no expert.

Lets get some more views and hopefully more opinions.
