Well, tired of my 2014 Chevrolet Viberado LT - went shopping for new trucks just to see how they ride ect ect. Came out of a 2004 Titan SE off-road, and really like the 2014 Titan Pro-4X - took it for a test ride and rides nice - so now the money issue comes up - willing to take a bit of a loss to get out of this over engineered WeebleWobble - but the dealer did something I never experienced before - they asked if I minded that they take MINE for a test ride - 2014 with 2500 miles? why? its new? I just don't like it? Hmmm... now im worried - so they come back - service guys whispers some crap to the dealer - dealer sits down and scribbles some crap - $25,000 trade in - for a 2 month old $46,000 truck. and wont budge, wont argue, wont deal. I understand some loss due to being a one owner vehicle now and all, but damn... Reason? cause " im going to have to resell that" - think the word is out boys.......

So why not lemon law it?

So I found this last night as well. Seems like the 2500 guys are having the same issues with the 2015's. If you read around page 51 I believe they are mentioning how some trucks have it and some trucks don't. The thread is now at 120+ pages where the 2015 owners are chiming in. Could our 1500 issue be frame beaming and they just don't want to admit they have been making trucks for 5 years plus and haven't figured it out yet? Maybe body mounts are our answer. Who knows at this point.

Ok, going into V4 mode and AFM means the same thing. I was asking Jim (Hightong) though.

Edit: he said in his post, when driving around side streets its worse then it is on the highway.

Edit: Just wondering if he drives it in M5 does it still vibrate?

I took the truck out and checked again in normal drive and m5,v4 mode normal no load shake around 1100 rpm,m5 same streets same speeds and yes a very very slight vibration

So what I think,in normal drive the transmission stays in a higher gear and while in v4 mode with no or little real load on the engine intensifies the shake

In 5 it was almost unnoticeable

I should have tried this in other m gears but didn't think of it until I started writing this(someone else want to try).

To me it looks like in v4 the engine looses its balance which could be corrected some what by changing the shifting pattern....not saying to take v4 out completely but at lower no load speeds set it up differently

No doubt all manufacturers are chasing fuel mileage,in this case maybe to much.

This is just my opinion, I hope gmc or someone can find a solution to this part of the shake problem.

As a side note sometimes this is a smooth riding quiet truck.

Jim

I was asking because the vibration in my floorboards started out the way yours currently is, however it progressively got worse and now it does it in any gear, at any speed less then 70, and M, D, AFM doesn't change it.

Edit: If you completely let off the accelerator does it go away and when you accelerate again it comes back immediately?

Wow.... did he feel the shake or say anything about it after driving it? What speed does the truck shake @?

Mine had the bad vibe at 70 plus. They "worked on it" and got the vibrations at highway speeds down id say 70%. BUT!! It vibrates all the time now. Especially when torque is needed or accelerating from a dead stop.

I had a front wheel drive car once that had bad CV axles. It exhibited the same type of vibration that got worse under heavy acceleration. turned out to be bad inner CV joints. I know this probably does not help you with your truck, but improperly assembled components like U joints, differential bearings and gears all can contribute.

I had vibration issues with my '95 Nissan truck that felt just like badly balanced wheels. Balancing wheels did not help. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the drive shaft support bearing rubber bushing was torn, allowing the drive shaft to move up and down, causing vibration. Replacing the center support bearing/bushing assembly fixed the problem for good and cost me only about $ 120 for the part (pressed it on the drive shaft myself).

These are just two examples of vibrations in vehicles that I had over the years that I was able to solve and which turned out to be caused by something different than badly balanced wheels.

Off topic a bit, but.... Did you check out the Nissan fuel economy figures? They scared me away without even visiting a dealership.

I am guessing there is still no fix for this issue? I have had the same issue with my 2014 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab LT ever since I hit around 8k miles. I am now at 12k miles and have had my truck in the shop 5 times, at two different dealerships, still not fixed. At the first dealership, my tires were replaced because they were "out of round", my drive-shaft was replaced, checked my alignment and road force balanced my tires. After none of this worked, the dealership concluded that the vibration was within GM's "quality standards" and there was nothing else they could do for me. The second dealership said they had a new "vibration sensing device" that was sent to them by GM to detect issues such as this. After running their tests, they road force balanced my tires and called it a day. This is my 7th GM truck and I have never experienced such a rough and annoying ride quality, this truck drove like a Cadillac when it was first purchased.

Has anyone tried filing Lemon Law for this problem? This will be my next step and if that doesn't work, I will be selling my truck and switching loyalties.

**Update**

I traded in my shaky 2014 Silverado last week for a brand new 2014 GMC Sierra SLT. They seem to be willing to work with me on my trade and I was happy with the new truck purchase.. Seven days and 400 miles later, the 2014 GMC Sierra is shaking just as bad as my Silverado was..(steering wheel vibration between 40-50 mph and seats shaking from 70-80mph). I have contacted the dealership as to what they can do for me, since I have barely had the new truck for a week. I will report back with what I find. I have a feeling I will have to go Lemon Law this time.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS ISSUE IS ALSO HAPPENING ON THE 2015 MODELS?

**Update**

I have been working directly with the owner for the dealership that I purchased my latest 2014 GMC Sierra from to get this issue fixed (I am know that there is a slim chance that they will actually fix this issue, as this is my 2nd 2014 GM truck with the same issue). However, he is very aware of the shaking/vibration issue and has been straight forward with me on the topic. He claims they have fixed a few vehicles already, so I am letting them give it a shot (I don't really have a choice at this point). So far.. they have Road Force Balanced all 4 tires, replaced the ring and pinion, and are now replacing the rear axle. They have had my truck for over a week so far and I am waiting to hear how much longer they will have it. I will report back with the results. IF this does not work, and my expectations are low, I will be diving into the buy-back documentation process and buying a Ford..

My new 2014 k1500 wt was in the shop for a week with 2 attempts to fix the 65 mph shake. I've had it back 1 week waiting for the dealer to find his EVA (vibration analyzer) because they are stumped. 23 more days and 2 attempts to go before it turns yellow.

They're not having the problem just with the 14 or 15's. They're having them with the 12, and 13's as well. I'm starting to believe its the box frame for higher towing capacity. And its not really a problem per se. Its that the tolerances are so tight that any and I mean ANY imperfection in the tires will give us this 70+mph vibration. I'm getting told to go get my tires trued and balanced on the truck. A few guys that had my exact vibration did this and theirs went away completely. Now, every time they get new tires, they will need to do it all over again. This still doesn't explain why some that own this truck don't have any problems. I'm going to TRY and locate a place that does this style of balancing and truing. I'll let you know.

I wish that would take care of it, Is your dealer telling you to go have it done? I would surely think this would be on gm..especially if you have stock tires and wheels

No, those on this board and the duramaxforum.com board are telling me to get it done as it has eliminated all their vibration woes.

All, I have a 2014 Sierra 4x4. I purchased it new about 4 months ago and drove it from Illinois to Louisiana and it drove absolutely great, better than my wife's Cadillac. About a month ago while shifting into drive I heard a bang in the transmission area. I immediately could feel a vibration in the gas petal and steering wheel after that.

I brought it in to a local dealer and the advised that they balanced the tires and one or more ( I'm not sure ) was out of balance by up to 5oz's. Just before I brought it to the dealer I had a local tire shop check them and he said they were perfect. Okay so I get the truck back from the dealer and the vibration is worse. My 2003 silverado with 300k miles doesn't vibrate like this. I mean my right foot nearly tingles after a while like I'm on a lawn mower.

So just the other day, while driving at 76mph I decided to reach over and shift it into auto and when it engaged I could feel the vibration get stronger. It never did that before either. I believe the problem is in the transmissions and that is why the dealers never find the issue because GM will not allow them to change it out or they don't believe that's the issue. I have another appointment in a few days with the dealer. I'll keep you all posted. Sorry I was so long.
