Silver Spaceship is the original poster of this thread, I am pretty sure he has been reading everything.

I have been driving mine around in M4 (not M5) and man what a difference, no vibration, I am trying everything to feel the vibration but theres nothing. I keep it in M4 at 60MPH and below, RPMs are around 2200 so shitty gas mileage but the truck feels great. Man if this thing drove like this all the time I would have nothing to complain about. No delayed throttle response, no miss shifts (goofy shifting) and no vibration in my feet.

I think the transmission is definetly the problem with my truck.

attempted this morning and last night. still shakes at 65+ even in m4 @ 3200 rpm

I do not believe it's tire balancing,

1. because it's too wide spread a problem for tire balance

2. i've installed new wheels and tires and the shake is still there

i do not believe it is shock/suspension.

1. shake is more side to side than vertical

2. I've installed after market shocks in the rear with no change to ride quality.

3. minimal, if any, steering shake. it's a cab vibration.

i do not believe it is transmission.

1. vibration occurs in all gears

2. vibration does not increase or decrease due to RPM

I believe the vibration is aft of the transmission along the drivetrain.

**Update**

I traded in my shaky 2014 Silverado last week for a brand new 2014 GMC Sierra SLT. They seem to be willing to work with me on my trade and I was happy with the new truck purchase.. Seven days and 400 miles later, the 2014 GMC Sierra is shaking just as bad as my Silverado was..(steering wheel vibration between 40-50 mph and seats shaking from 70-80mph). I have contacted the dealership as to what they can do for me, since I have barely had the new truck for a week. I will report back with what I find. I have a feeling I will have to go Lemon Law this time.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS ISSUE IS ALSO HAPPENING ON THE 2015 MODELS?

I hope the 2015's don't shake. I filed lemon law and GM intervened and decided to buy back my 2014. I ordered a 2015 as a replacement and it's due in by the end of the month. I'll let you know how it drives after it comes in. I have been dealing with this since June....

Wondering how many others filed a lemon law? How will anyone know if they are trying to correct the problem or will? What's to say the drivetrain parts or whatever is causing the problem won't be carried over to the 15's? I'm sure they have a stock of drivetrain parts they will use up before the problem is fixed.

So I took my truck in for the final attempt the other day for vibration.. after 3 days all they changed was 4 tires and replaced all the rancho shocks on the truck. The engineer supposedly hooked up the vibration analyzing tool and by the frequency they determined the tires were the cause. Changed all four tires to bridgestone duelers and still showed a vibration.. Changed the shocks and supposedly it fell within their specs. I picked the truck up and took it on the highway and found that my vibration between 40-50 was noted to be 60 percent better but not fixed. The vibration at 70-85 was the same and not fixed either. I was told that the GM engineer was not required to fix the vibration from 70-85 because it was over the posted speed limit and it is not legal for them to exceed the limit of 70mph!!! I was floored at their response. I'm working with them now on a replacement but in order for them to work out a deal with me I had to close my BBB case.. I closed it and and will be negotiating on a 2500 but will have to spend more money to get into the truck I want. We will see what happens!

Some states have 75 mph or higher, and you travel for work.

why in gods name would you close your BBB case, let it go the required 40 days and have the hearing and get your full refund buyback.

it destroys the resale value of your truck which is an automatic 100% victory for you regardless of what BS level of vibration they want to call normal.

the dealer isn't involved in the BBB case because its between you and GM and that's why the dealer cant make a deal to take the truck from you as long as you have an open BBB case because GM needs to take ownership of the lemon but you are giving up on a full refund to take a big loss

Lol!!! That's the stupidest most asinine response I've ever heard! So why does GM make a 450 hp Vette with a top speed of 195 mph and a 505 hp Camaro Z28 with a top speed of 185? Do they design those cars to shake @ 70+ and don't care because it's against the law to drive them that fast? Now I've heard it all...

It only takes a phone call to open it right back up within 60 days.. I want them to step up and take care of there customers and give me a solid deal on a 2500 instead of treat us like our problem is "a normal characteristic". I am just tired of dealing with this company. I completely understand how it destroys the value of the truck by them having to lemon title it. I would hope they understand that I am giving them one last time to settle this otherwise i'm going all in with a lemon law case and Magnuson moss suit. Oh yea I forgot to mention they told me these new trucks are not designed to be luxury vehicles, that they are made like "trucks" now and aren't supposed to ride like a Cadillac. If I knew that a vibration was a normal characteristic for this "truck" I wouldn't have bought it and i'm sure no one else would either.

It's funny why one of those GM customer care reps hasn't chimed in lately??? After the first few posts it was like " sorry to hear you're having problems if there's anything else I can do please let me know". The only thing these members want is their truck fixed can you help them with that? No because you have now mechanical knowledge what so ever so why tell them if there's anything else I can do please let me know. Why don't you forward all 212 of these pages to the appropriate people from GM and do something about these 355 hp vibrators? Are you there Jennifer? Do you see this is a problem???

attempted this morning and last night. still shakes at 65+ even in m4 @ 3200 rpm

I do not believe it's tire balancing,

1. because it's too wide spread a problem for tire balance

2. i've installed new wheels and tires and the shake is still there

i do not believe it is shock/suspension.

1. vibration occurs in all gears

2. vibration does not increase or decrease due to RPM

I believe the vibration is aft of the transmission along the drivetrain.

There are different versions of the vibration / shake that people are experiencing. Some have violent shakes, some have moderate shakes, some have a vibration that runs through the entire floorboard and the accelerator pedal, and some have both a shake and a vibration. If your truck is shaking like some of the videos I've seen then you are probably correct, it's not the transmission, but who knows at this point. The people who designed and engineered the vehicle can't even figure it out or they have figure it out and are acting stupid so they don't have to pay to fix everybody's truck.

Edit: if your passenger seat is shaking violently, I would consider that a shake not a vibration. But then again, a shake could cause vibrations and a vibration could cause a shake. But what do I know, I am just another Dummy like everybody else.

yes but then it restarts the 40 day clock all over again to reopen it so your backed up another 40 days on top of how long it takes to figure out what your going to do.

it sounds like a stall tactic, so tell them make the deal first and it only takes 5 minutes to close your claim and sign on the dotted line. if they give you any lip on it then they aren't trying to help you but just stalling for GM. there is nothing stopping them from making a deal with you, the only thing you cant do without closing your case is to sign the truck over to them

and my comment about destroying the value is not about them or the truck or who has to sell it later but im trying to impress upon you that a safety issue or something to cause greatly reduced resale value is one of the core defects that are protected by lemon law so greatly reduced resale value is just as major an issue as a safety issue that can kill you unlike a "normal characteristic" of the vehicle as they are hopping to somehow claim so there is no BS they can use to hide from that clause of the lemon law. just be sure to bring it up at the hearing because if you don't bring it up then it wont be part of your claim

Hello to all the fellow GM enthusist. I have actually been a member since Sept of 2013 But have lost my password and user name. Gave up and "rejoined today". I have been following this shaking vibrating story from the time I first took my "vibrator" in. I have heard most of the same excuses and misdiagnosises that you all have............. My 2014 sierra has 5210 miles on it. Looks great shakes even better. I have been a loyal gm customer my whole life and this is just about unbelievable. I no longer discuss it with people around me. If one more person ask me why I don,t INSIST they fix it I might have a apeshit fit! I at the point know where I,m ready to go all in. I,m sure it will be more rewarding than wasting time at the dealer. I plan on A. filing with the BBB. B. NHTSA. C. and filing a lemon law claim. I guess that will cost some but I am prepared for that. It won,t be any worse than leaving a nearly new truck sitting in the garage because I can,t stand driving it...

I thought I would give them the option of settleing this without all that so I called GM monday. The lady "tiffany" was very nice. Said she could see I was a loyal customer assigned me a case # and said she would move this right on up to an administrator to talk with me. Nobody saw fit to call me yet. I read in the forum that GM. wouldbe more inclined to settle if they did not have to deal with the claims complaints and a lemon titiled vehicle. I called them once more this morning and the lady said that someone had me on there list to talk with this morning. I,m keeping notes and getting ready but would be happy to wash my hands of this thing.

Suggestions "positive ones" are welcome. Signed "shakey" Previous user name was msnyder
