Well I tried to read most of the posts... but 202 pages is a lot. Here is what I got out of it. It can be almost anything, I have about 9000 miles and have felt the vibrations. I also sometimes get a loud clunk from somewhere in the middle of the truck when I either slow down to a complete stop or when I take off from like 3rd gear. I did rotate my tires and felt it even more then before. However, I think it was just the hype of getting a new truck that I talked myself out of it. But now.... I really feel it now... on roads that were just paved too. It does go away after turns on the high way though. I do not really notice it at low speed but when I have things in my cup holder they vibrate so much! I am going to try to put my dads 20's on off of his avalanche (Michelin tires) and see where that gets me.... if it is still there then it will go into the shop and the war will start.... For the guys that got buy backs.... did you get reimbursed completely and what happened after that? Also could you just upgrade to a 2500 diesel then?

For those of you that get the its normal response from the dealer, ask them to prove it with another new truck in their lot. When they realize it doesn't vibrate, your already winning! Right there, I would ask for a local representative from GM because you want a buy back. Point is, IF YOU HAVE VIBRATIONS, GET IT BOUGHT BACK ASAP!! There is no fix for this at all!

I am scheduled to take my 2014 GMC Sierra into the dealer for the 2nd time to address the vibrations I am feeling at highway speeds (65 MPH+). The last time it was in the shop, they RF balanced all of the wheels/tires and replaced one of the original tires. I only have 1700 miles on my truck and it seems like this issue is getting worse. I know that there have been some members who have had their issues resolved , while most members continue to experience the vibrations after multiple trips to the dealership.

I plan on giving the dealer one more shot at resolving the vibrations before I file with the BBB or with GM. That being said, is there anyone here who has actually had the vibrations resolved on their 2014 GM Truck? If so, what repairs or parts seem to resolve the issue? I tried to find some posts here that would speak to that, but with 202 pages, it's hard to sift through.

I want to try and give the dealer some initial direction on where the issue(s) may be. The last time I was there, the service adviser did not have any knowledge of the vibration issues prior to my visit (at least that is what he told me).

Also, if I do eventually file with the BBB, GM, or under the Lemon Law, are there any specific steps or is there any advice members can give me if I decide to go that route? I live in Maryland and according to the Lemon Law, the dealer needs 4 attempts to fix the truck.

Thanks for any help!

I live in south jersey and as a fellow neighbor in state, I highley recomend you getting a trade in or buy back. I can honestly tell you that if you really feel vibrations, you will not get a fix from GM. Iv hine countless times to

The dealer and spoke and opened countless complaints against GM and nothing happened. Due to my high travels for work, iv gone past the miles needed to file lemon. I now have to

Trade the truck I'm for something else. Ived tried everything... New wheels, ( worked for a little) new suspension, put about 1500lbs in the bed everyte me I go to work and it makes it worst!! Between my personal expirience and 202 pages with no answer on here. This is why I say, get it traded in or bough back ASAP. GM will not help

Or will they fix it. Good luck!

BluByU14, first off no! There has been no fixes to date after I followed and read this whole thread...that was a task at hand too.

There has been a maybe a total of 3 people claim that new tires other then oem fixed this vibrations on their trucks.

But I can honestly tell you that I tried toyo open country, michelins, and 2 complete sets of goodyear oem and vibration was exactly at the same speed regardless of tire used.

2 complete driveshafts from tranny to rear end and no change in vibration, sorry one shaft was worse but same speed.

Even had a complete rear axle with brakes sealed from the factory installed, vibration still was the same too.

I had issues with my front rack and pinion unit making noise when I turned hard, this was never ruled out as a possible culprit to this vibration.

I document every thing including pictures as well as mileage dates and conversations after they told me other trucks are doing this as well and its normal live with it.

I have had my truck bought back now after I Got a lawyer working for me. Complete repurchase requested with all

my money back. This took a few days around forty to complete, and now I bought a Ram ecodiesel will pick it up today, yes I was a diehard GM truck guy but this truck has a bad smell and it is coming mainly from the bullshit I was being feed. Keep a complete log book with snapshots of your mileage as well as a work order each time they attempt to fix it. My vibration started at 40-50mph then we faded away and came back lightly at 73mph and above.

Sorry...Goodluck

Thanks 2strokesmoke for the advice,

I have been a die hard GM fan for my entire life and feeling like this might push me to another brand once and for all. My brother has a 13' Ram and loves it. I hope that I dont need to get a lawyer involved (money out of my own pocket), but if the dealer and/or GM give me the run around, I guess I have no other choice.

some do but lawyers are not supposed to charge you EVER for a lemon law case, its written right into the lemon law.

they get paid if they win or not at all so shop around and make sure there is a clear understanding you pay nothing ever before you agree to let them represent you.

some lawyers wont do lemon law unless they are assured to get paid no matter what so if you agree to pay the lawyer then that is completely on you if you think its worth it to spend your own money but be clear about this from the start.

So I had some free time today on my lunch break to take my Sierra for ride. I decided I would take it down a newly paved stretch of interstate that I travel a few times a week. I usually travel the road during rush hour, so my speed and length of constant speed is very limited. I drove this same stretch yesterday and was able to get up to 70-72 for about about a mile and during that time the vibration I have been feeling was VERY pronounce. I get on the highway today and get up to 68 - 70 - 73 - 76.......no vibrations. I keep going for about another 5-7 miles with my speed varying from about 60 all the way up to 87.........no vibrations! WTF????? While I am happy to see that the vibration was gone or suspended for a short period of time, i know that it will most likely be present the next time I drive it. It still BOGGLES my mind that with all the technology and brain power within an organization such as GM, they cant figure this crap out. Love every other aspect of my Sierra, but this now intermittent vibration is driving me crazy.

Sorry everyone for ranting.....but just have to vent. :banghead:

Don't be sorry man, this is like a support group for us! "Hi, my name is _______ and I spent 50k on a truck that shakes my fillings out"

On a side note, for intermittent vibrations that come and go, here are my thoughts if all other factors are the same, outside temp, wind speed and direction etc.

Things that could change:

1) Tires rotating on rims causing out of balance. You can mark your tire and rim with a grease pencil and see if the spots aren't lined up anymore after driving. There is a TSB on this I read this morning about tires not seating properly.

2) Tires are somewhat out of round and when they ride fine they are good, but then sometimes they get in sync and cause harmonic vibration.

3) Driveshaft coring is coming loose inside the shaft and when particles are stuck it is fine and when they come loose they cause it to be out of balance.

4) Wind speed causing aero issues (doubtful)

5) Transmission fluid pressure (Gm refuses to check tranny though)

I think # 5 is causing issues in some of these trucks, mine included.

Thanks for the feedback! I will say that yesterday was about 4-5 degrees cooler and was much windier than it is today! Probably has nothing to do with it, but it is worth noting.

Will keep the other suggestions in mind when I got to the dealer this Thursday morning.

well if you ride on a non-smooth road it greatly reduces the vibrations so I can see where wind could have a similar influence on things as well

I would have to agree it seams there is something harmonic about this vibration since its always there but not always with the same intensity

My vibes are worse on rough roads, taking it in on Friday for the tires (I have aftermarket Coopers) and think thats mainly what my problem is. Will report back!
