So after filing with the BBB and sending the motor vehicle defect notice last week I got a call from someone in GM's resolution office that they are gathering info for my case and to schedule a final repair. Through conversation the gentlemen I was speaking to referred me to page 4 of the warranty booklet specifically the part that says "Repairs Covered, The warranty covers repairs to correct any vehicle defect, not slight noise, vibrations, or other normal characteristics of the vehicle related to materials or workmanship occurring during the warranty period. Needed repairs will be performed using new, remanufactured, or refurbished parts." I could not believe this response from GM. They really are not trying to keep customers. They expect us to deal with this vibration and claim it is normal!! We will see what happends during the final repair.

if its not fixed ask for a buyout and if they say no then call a lawyer and see what your rights are and what your options are at this point

I could be wrong but vehicle defects are NOT warranty items as far as the lemon law goes no matter what GMs warranty policy is for making repairs to brand new vehicles that don't work correctly.

if this is going to be GM's policy to screw customers over then it is time for a class action lawsuit to force GM to go on public record declairing they build trucks that are supposed to vibrate when they go down the road. ford will have a field day with that public declaration to put in their commercials lol, buy a ford because unlike GM, our trucks aren't "designed" to vibrate

They got me out of my lemon and it didn't cost me anything.

First post and unfortunately, my vibration led me to you. I just purchased this vehicle last week and this vibration above 74mph is unbearable. I'll watch my drinks in the cup holders shake like I'm in an earthquake. This is embarrassing.

I have the 2014 Silverado LT All star edition. I absolutely love the truck and have put over 1000 miles on it in this week. But its been all highway mileage.

If this helps at all I had a 2003 Dodge Ram 4 door 4x4. It wasn't until the last year of ownership did it drive just like this truck is doing. What caused my Ram to change is just pure speculation. Here it is. It started shaking like this after I had the Transmission rebuilt. All the balancing of tires in the world didn't fix this issue and I got frustrated and sold the truck. Now I fear I have encountered this problem all over again.

Hello? Is what I'm describing the same issue that everyone else seems to be experiencing?

close, the main vibration complaint is from 65-70 mph there is a constant vibration that makes the ride very uncomfortable, I would liken it to having a bent rim wobble or egged tire. along with this 65-70 mph vibration it is also common to have a slight wobble or shaking sensation with some trucks at 35-40 mph, again as though you had an egged tire. I think its the same vibration that is felt strongest at these two speeds but gives an overall crappy rough ride throughout the whole range but its just not that noticeable between 45-65 mph but then starts to intensify at that point. sort of like you are driving on a rough concrete road when when you are driving on smooth flat new blacktop paved road where all other vehicles ride smooth as glass.

there is no "fix" that GM has found yet.

some trucks have had vibrations for other reasons and those trucks were "reportedly" fixed by replacing rear end gears or swapping of tires and such along with replacing drive shafts and shimming the motor mount angles and transmission angles so there is a whole range of things they have tried and some things have "reportedly" worked on a very small handful of trucks and IMO I think some people just gave up trying and felt when it was reduced down to a slight vibration that that was about as good as it was ever going to get and called it fixed.

so far they have tried everything but replacing the transmission and nothing has worked not counting a very few handful of trucks the owners claim were fixed and no longer vibrate. in my view these trucks were having a different vibration issue then the majority of us and that is why they got results when no one else is getting any.

your description seams to be more amplified so maybe you have an unbalanced ring gear in the rear end, from what I read those with strong dramatic vibrations seam to have the rear end issue

I'm surprised 2014 GM truck owners have not filed a class action lawsuit due to the reduction in gas mileage as a result of the fire recall. I read numerous posts where the MPG took a nose dive. Ford and Hyundai have had to pay out substantial amount in claims for false advertising of MPG.

Companies like GM aren't going to go out of their way to solve issues like this as long as customers keep buying. The profit margins are ridiculous on trucks. It is the consumers that must make their voices heard. I've seen a few videos on youtube regarding the vibration issues and I commend these owners for taking advantage of the information age we live in. I guarantee, sooner or later, these types of videos are going to make their way to some investigative reporter on TV or some automotive publication and the story will explode.

Just drove home my new '14 NHT equipped (3.73s and 9.76" rear end), and I have the 35-45mph vibrate as well. 270 mile drive home from the dealer. I test drove it before I brought it up but I felt that it was all normal...on the longer drive home, obviously, I was able to put the truck through some more stop and gos, and higher speed driving. Vibrates. The 70mph vibration is barely noticeable but the 35-45 is definitely there. It's not unbearably bad, I'll suffer with it until they figure out the problem. Then have it fixed. I need the truck to commute and pull my camper.

Maybe Mine is only tires. It isn't in the steering wheel. Its in the seats and center console. It feels like the rear end is shaking side to side and up and down. It looks like my drinks are in a blender. I definitely don't have the 35-40 or even the 50-65 mile an hour vibration. Doesn't mean I'm out of the woods though. I am waiting to hear back from the local Chevy dealership so that I can have the service manager go on the ride with me. I've had the truck 2 weeks today and I already have 1800 miles on it. I drive to much. Sheesh.

everyone needs to start posting youtube videos showing the vibrations and reporting when GM declares their trucks are normal and its supposed to vibrate like that.

believe me GM will take notice when millions of youtube viewers start spreading the news of GM not fixing the trucks and screwing over customers.

once the word gets out there will be reduction in sales and everyone coming in will be asking about the vibrations.

its a shame when you have to shame a company into standing behind what it sells but this is where we are today.

if the government hadn't been running GM for so long I don't think the people making these decisions would have their jobs today

by the way you might notice how convenient it is that the comment sections are all disabled for the youtube videos reviewing the great new 2014 chevy & gmc trucks lol. they don't want the bad reports about the trucks to be shown since these people who pretend to be impartial, are just paid promoters of GM (free trucks or pay for advertising for them mostly) so they are far from impartial and just another form of GM commercials.

I saw a few of you guys in another thread that said you were having the hard shift into 2nd gear. Wondering how many on this thread have that hard shift, could be the torque converter like so many people think and I am beginning to think the same as it's the only thing that hasn't been tested or replaced yet. I still need to swap my tires from rear to front and see if the vibration follows. If not I'm going to talk to the dealer about the converter. I have already been through one buy back so I am rather pissed at this point as are most of us I'm sure!

one thing to remember is with the new electronic steering even if it is the front tires shaking you aren't going to feel it in the steering wheel because it self dampens. the service tech even said they were told they could no longer use steering wheel imput as an indicator if something was wrong in the front end because they wouldn't be able to feel it. now I don't know how accurate that is but that's what he told me when I asked if it could be the back tires only since I couldn't feel it in the steering wheel and he said that's why they needed to check all 4 tires

Mine is having the exact same issue. It's pretty smooth up until 70mph and then the center counsel and seats shake like hell.

Yeah that's what I have been told as well, but I believe it within reason. If you have a tire thats out you're going to feel it in the wheel, it might be greatly reduced but I still think it should create somewhat of a shimmy. My front tires are a little lower road force than the rears so swapping them might help some and then I can narrow it down.

This is exactly what I am experiencing. I dont have any vibrations up until about 72mph and then if I had a cup of coffee more than 3/4 of the way full in the console it would have shaken it out on the floor.
