A few other notes i forgot to mention. With my tune i dont have V-4 anymore either. You woukd think the dealer of the first buy back would ship that truck to GM & the engineers would jump on finding the problem & getting us a fix. Guess not!

im thinking the same thing, take a vibrating truck and a truck with miles on it that's smooth and trouble free.

on Monday swap tires and rims as a set and retest both

on Tuesday swap out drive shafts and retest both

on Wednesday swap out tranny and retest both

on Thursday swap out rear ends and retest both

on Friday swap engines out and retest both

now in one week you have found the problem or at least isolated it to one item to be further investigated

GM are you listening? this is the quick and easy way to solve this problem, engineers making millions of dollars scratching their heads looking over computer screens is not the way to troubleshoot mechanical problems.

swapping out tires and rims and if that doesn't do it, having your service departments going on record as saying that you build trucks that are supposed to vibrate and every truck they have on the lot vibrates too, is NOT a good way to handle this problem

Another Forum found the following:

Well I got a call today from dealership and they said my differnetial gears and drive shatf were warped and they are replacing the whole thing. They said they have seen 2 others like this.

Well it appears the differential gears were out of round and GM wants them to replace the complete differential. Its on order so another 3-5 days without my truck!

Has anyone tried that with their dealer?

Well I went to dealer today for ride with serv mgr, He said zone rep was there today.. was told that gm believes the problem is with ring and pinion and rear shocks. Said they have been inspecting rear axles and checking specs on ring and pinions and THINK they may be on to something. We didn't go out for a ride he was able to describe all of my concerns. Told me gm KNOWS they have a problem and are working to solve it. Advised me to call the gm line and open a case, Apologized for the inconvenience, wanted to fill my gas tank (just filled up last night..story of my life) Advised me at my dealer alone there is over 20 cases.

I had a buyback in july. New truck did not vibrate during the test drive. As soon as I took on a trip the vibration started. My dealer replaced the complete rear end. Truck still vibrated and makes noise. My dealer is going to buy back again and exchange for a 2015.I ordered it yesterday.

And if the third one vibrates too your dealer is going to buy it back and you will order another 2015?

Nitrogen is a scam don't pay for it. These tires fluctuate in pressure just as much as every other tire I've ever owned in life that was filled with regular air. Keep in mind the composition of regular air is 78% Nitrogen anyway, so if you pay to have your tires filled with pure nitrogen you're paying to take that amount from 78%Nitrogen/22% Oxygen and other gases to 100% nitrogen. That seems like a total waste of money to me and the world has gone on just fine for years with regular air in the tires. That's my $0.02 on this issue.

The nitrogen they put in the tires is not 100% pure. Small nitrogen generators are not capable of producing anything close to 100% nitrogen. this is all one gigantic scam, similar to waxing a truck and Scotch garding cloth seats for $ 400.

There is a possibility GM knows of the issue and has no idea what it is. It would he nice for them to state that and stop selling the trucks but it would be a PR nightmare. MY vibration comes and goes with the different stretches of highway so it is not like some have described. Since it does not bother me hugely (I don't drive much highway) I will patiently wait to see if GM comes through.

So the obvious solution to the problem is changing the model year number. 2015 is not the same as 2014 so it follows that 2015's must be vibration free.

My take on it is that they know what the problem is but there are numerous causes ranging from cheap tires to improperly balanced shafts to badly assembled transmissions and differentials. To fix all that would require so much money that it is economically not feasible for GM to do it. So they will continue to pretend that there is no problem and if someone insists on a fix, they will replace a few things until the owner gives up.
