Yeah it's coming out in 2016. Going to have a 5.0L Cummins with 300+ hp and 500+ ft. lbs of torque. Should be a hell of a truck.

They are going to clean up. My brother in law bought two Toyotas just before I bought my GMC. Not a problem one and no V4, not as good on gas or as quick as mine but pretty nice. Im a hard core GM guy thou, happy with mine so far. If it starts shaking its gone.

Also, I was on the highway on Sunday and was getting up to speed, was in a turn going uphill, and was completely smooth all the way to 80mph. Straightened back out and on flat surface and the 75mph shake was back. What angles, etc would change when going uphill in a turn? Whatever is affected by that, might be the culprit on my truck.

if someone asked me out of the blue on a non-new truck I would say 99% that its something with slack in the front end so when it has no road input is when its got the most slack to wobble.

 

might turn out to be in the electronic steering crap

 

here is the latest update on my fun and games with GM:

 

I got the truck back today after they were "supposed to" RF balance the four tires they said they replaced.

 

as it turns out, it says on the paperwork that they just swapped tires out with another truck on the lot and sent it off to southern tire to be balanced but nothing was mentioned on the paperwork about it being a RF balance.

 

it was raining when I picked it up so no test drive, anyway on the way home it is still vibrating but not much (about like the last time I was tempted to let it go and keep it) but when I got home I took a good look at the tires they put on just to see if they were different tires but I cant tell if they swapped them all or just one or two.

 

the big problem was right there in my face, my truck has steel wheels with ss hubcaps and they clamped the wheel weights right over the hub caps locking them onto the rim!

 

it has a center cap you take off first before you can pull the outer ring off but they removed just the center caps to balance it and hammered the weights right over the hubcap as though it was the rim.

 

things are definitely looking very hinky at this point so im gonna call southern tire and see if they even have a RF balance machine because at this poinnt it wouldn't surprise me to find out they don't.

 

so far I got receipts for 2 repairs on same problem and on Monday when I bring it back in it will be repair #3 so they get 2 more tries to fix it before lemon law kicks in

Yeah, I would think the same if it was in the steering wheel but unfortunately it's in the rear so just trying to do some brainstorming here

well don't go dismissing it too fast, the electronic steering absorbs all vibration so it could very well be rattling like crazy in the front but the steering wheel will still be solid and smooth. at least that's the way the service manager said it was designed to work, he said they were told they can no longer expect any feedback from the steering to diagnose front end problems. cant say anything beyond that's what he told me so.... who knows

Hi all, I've had my truck for almost a year now. Been having these vibration issues since 6000km, now currently around 14,000km. I'm looking at all these posts as I haven't been here for awhile, last post was back on of 150ish. And it makes me even more furious, that at least you guys are getting serviced and having other problems looked at. My truck has been in the shop for a total of 24 times, and all they have done is rotated the tires, and change out the rubbers 3 different times. About three months in I got a hold of GM Canada or their customer service and started a case. I've asked them to buy back my lemon or at least let me trade it in for one that I know doesn't vibrate (or at least if didn't). Several months later I keep getting the.same answer "The dealer has to do everything in their power to fix this before we can go down that route". Doing the same thing for over 7 months is not "everything in their power".

I've almost accepted my fate that I'm stuck with this vibration until I buy a new vehicle.

You can start a case with "CAMVAP" if you are a Canadian, explain what you have been through and list all your attempts you tried to get your shaking truck fixed.

You can get advice from them too it is free!

I am excited to report that my vibration has been FIXED!!!! My attorney got me a buyback. I got back everything I put into the truck except for $800 that they called usage and mileage. I took my big refund check and went and bought a 2014 Ram. I love this truck! It has balls, it doesn't sound like it has a hamster wheel under the hood, it's averaging 18.3 mpg and most importantly, IT DOESN'T VIBRATE! Good luck to all you guys. Hopefully GM will find a solution but it's not encouraging the way it's going. I'll monitor this site on occasion to see if their is a fix.

Very simple process. My truck had been in the shop 5 times. Document EVERYTHING (dates, names, repairs, statements made by anyone who works for the dealership or GM). I had a 4 page report i sent to the attorney. If you arrange some deal with the dealership regarding a buyback, you can be assured you're getting screwed somehow. Contact www.lemonlaw.com, the process took approximately 3 1/2 months.

The automatic locking rear differential is related to the Z71 package, not the tow package. It may be related to the max tow package I haven't checked that package out that closely. But 2WD trucks and 4x4 (non Z71) trucks with a standard tow package do not have an automatic locking rear differential.

Not entirely true.. I didnt have the tow package or z71 package and I had 3.08 with a locker.

Congrats to all you guys who are getting buybacks.....I. didnt have the time to deal with legal Action..and as such.. lost about $7k... $38k is what I got trade in.. $43k is what I paid.. $1300 in tires trying to figure the vibration out, and $1300 to register the Traverse that I Traded it in on. GM is lucky I stayed with them, If the Durango RT came with a different interior other than black, or I could afford a low mileage GL350... We would have left. GM....they better get thier act together...

Holy crap yeah Toyota is about to destroy the competition. The new Tundras are pretty nice looking too, much better than the previous body style. I too am a longtime GM guy and I love my truck, but if the problems get worse and the competition is putting out better products, I will reconsider owning this 2014 for sure.

the locker is an independent option just like the towing package if you want it you can get just the locker but you CANNOT get the towing package without the locking rear end being included with it

 

the "upper" package trucks mostly come standard with all of that stuff

just curious what the attorney cost you (or should have cost you if it was free) because if the dealer offers a buyback, I want to know what the attorney and lemon law route costs to compare whats a better way to proceed.

 

if the dealer offers an out for like $1,200-$1,500 loss to get out of it then it might be a better deal then paying a lawyer and going through all that hassle

Has anyone had their leafs replaced recently? My whole rear drive line was replaced except the leafs... Maybe with all the popping and such, the leafs are the problem. I don't recall anyone having them done

Pretty sure someone had theirs changed out a few weeks ago and he said vibration was fixed but I'm not 100% positive. I know it was in this thread about a week ago
