Hi new, to this forum I bought here because I currently have a 2012 Tacoma Sport that has an on going steering wheel vibration/shake issue since new and is currently in the shop being looked at again. My issue the same as what owners are describing here with there 2013-14 1500 Silverado's and Sierra's.

i been so frustrated by this issue that I'm just days away from purchasing a GM

product , but after realizing you guys are going though the same I put the brakes on and decided to sit still for a bit. i'm going to wait to see what the out come is on my Tacoma before I jump ship. It just awful to see that we purchase this vehicles and then have to deal with issues like these, it's a shame that buyers don't have better option's to return , swap or get a quicker resolve. If it wasn't for the consumer these manufactures and dealers wouldn't be in business.

I'm curious if anyone here thinks I should get a GM now or hold off ?

I can't speak for others, but it seems that it just might be the luck of the draw,as far as this vibration deal goes. I've had mine since March and have a little over 4,000 miles on it. Honestly, I can't be happier. Truck has been problem free to this point. IMO,I think there are far more good ones compared to the ones with serious issues. Small issues like the V4 drone and the radio reception ( a fix is being worked on) I can live with.

I have had two, neither with vibration issues. Long story short, I love the truck regardless of the first ones issues. It happens, and this forum is where we all talk about it. I would say less than 1% off all the trucks have the issues. That is still a high number though...

And what do you base that number on? This means that if you go to several GM dealers and test drive 100 new trucks, only one out of a hundred should statistically speaking exhibit vibration problems? Many trucks develop vibration problems after several hundred miles, so even that would be a poor statistic. Personally I think the percentage number is much higher than 1%.

Keep in mind that not everybody perceives vibration issues the same way. Some people ignore it, while some others obsess about it constantly.

Yeah I guarantee a ton of people are driving around with trucks exhibiting the same problems and either don't realize it or don't care. But between myself and 2 others I know, we all have 2014's with completely different build dates and trim levels and body styles and all 3 of us have vibration problems. Now maybe it's a simple fix like tires or maybe it's something more significant but if we're going to talk statistics, 100% of the 2014's I've had contact with vibrate. That's too many no matter how you slice it.

And neither of those guys are on this forum.

Mine vibrates under heavy acceleration. It's worse with the 33's on it. My '13 6.2 Sierra did the same thing. They said it was the motor mounts, and to let them know if it gets worse. Has anyone else had this type of vibration?

Nothing scientific, just that most that post on here are the same people. In addition I have not found a lot of others on forums with same topics. I have test driven several and this forum was found due to another issue however it helped me do extra tests on my replacement in case I could advert these issues.

But honesty I have not driven one yet that vibrated. Hence why before I was curious of a you tube video to see the effect.

I think that's a typo the '15's aren't out yet. Even if they are now with the amount of work history he's describing he would have had his truck at least a couple of months. I'm guessing he meant to type 14

Well, he's not wrong. The 2015, 2500 are having the issue as well. Maybe, meant to say 2500.

yes my 6.2 does it also, but only seems to do it till about 4000rpm in first gear

Go to this thread and see if this looks like 1% of the people have problems.

http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/159890-how-satisfied-are-you-with-your-2014-gm-truck/

36 out of 196 hated there trucks or complained of issues, this is over 18%. This number is way to high.

Of the 10 trucks I have driven 3 had vibration issues. Many would not no better or it wouldn't bother them. If even 1 out of the 10 comes back in because of vibration issues than that is just crappy quality control.

GM suggest this may be the cure for some vibs http://sandyblogs.com/techlink/?p=3296

Well today i bolted the flapper in my exhaust open and went on a 100 mile drive, the truck ran in v4 for over 60miles of it and there was no drone or vibration in the wheel at all. I think ill be going in and getting the new exhaust put on. It really never bothered me but now that i know it can be completely fixed i just as well do it. It also makes the exhaust note sound a little meaner. Thanks for the link

I took the truck for a 2hr drive today to the shore. Anything over 75mph I have vibration in the seat, steering wheel, and floor board. I used to have it in the pedal but that went away after a road force balance. I'm calling the dealer again. This well be the 4th time I've had it in the shop for vibration issues. Even tho every time I go they say they can't feel it.
