I saw a guy submerge an old Station Wagon once on a dirt ramp that is used exclusively by 4x4's.  He kept getting stuck when he would try to pull his aluminum boat out of the water and would back up a little more each time to get another run at it.

Things went bad when the boat started to float and the trailer jack-knifed...

My cousin did something similar with a Ranger 4x4 with manual tranny.

We launched the boat. I was moving the boat to where he could board while he parked the truck.

He aparently didn't put the truck in gear (he swore he did).

When we came back, we noticed the truck was GONE!

We didn't know where the truck was until we scraped the bottom of the boat with it!

Thats classic!   I really wish Icould have been there for that..  I know it isnt a good thing to have your car/truck roll into the lake down the boat ramp.  I wish I could have been there to laugh and point at the people that were supposed to be driving that Toyota or whatever.  If you look at the pics, it doesnt look like anyone is driving!!  Which I thought was even more funny.  One year at a lake near my home some drunk chick drove right down the boat ramp straight into the water!  She drove right into the lake like it was nothing.  If it was me, I would have been screaming like a 12 year old school girl as I got closer to the water.    She ended up swimming out her open drivers window, she could barely walk she was so blitzed.  Only part of the car you could see was the radio antenna.  :(  When the sheriff came to write up his report, he was laughing the whole time.

The sad part is that Ive personally observed this phenomena TWICE!  Both at same boat ramp in south florida.  One was a jeep cherokee, and the other was a ford e350 club wagon with powerstroke diesel.

I'll still never understand the jeep cherokee as it was 4x4.  It is useless to have 4x4 if you done engage it ! :D

I wander if Cherokees are hard to engage? THis guy down on the Texas Coast has a nice Cherokee 4x4 with brand new BFG A/T's, we were planning on going all the way down the beach with three vehicles, ~93 Toy p/u, ~99 Isuzu Trooper, and this cherokee. We also had about twelve people going and needed every vehicle, well we went through this really small soft spot of sand and the guy in the Jeep got stuck! Everyone was like WTF?! He said he couldn't engage the 4x4, so we crammed everyone in the other two vehicles and took off down the beach  we looked like a bunch of white illegals form across the border :smash:  :smash:  :wtf:

Oh man, that's some funny shiat. This one time at band-camp.. I mean when I was camping. There was a guy across from us with a Ranger, he'd fly through the campsite and blast his stereo all night and just be a generel idiot. Anyway the last day of the long weekend, I see his truck bein pulled behind his buddy's van back into his site. I find out later he was launching his boat and went a little too far down the ramp and well ended up floating into the lake (not really floating but becoming boyant enough to get no traction) He fried his computer and had to drive the 2 hours to get to the main hwy which then takes another hour to get to anything remotley close to a parts store and then had to drive the 3 hours back to install the computer and drive his truck home. I laughed and laughed, oh ya and then I laughed some more.  :smash:  :smash:  :wtf:    :D <-- me laughing at idiots.
