Rancho shock help

Recommended Posts

bought some new front shocks for my 99 Sierra today. Bought Rancho 5000s. Question I have is the old shocks have much bigger washers and rubber bushings than what comes with the new shocks. The old ones also had what I would call a sleeve that went thru the frame and then was between the two washers and bushings. Trying to get an answer from Rancho but havent received it yet. Would it be better to try and use the old washers, bushings, and sleeves or just use what came with the new shock? Anyone else run into this? Thanks

I had an '02 that I put RS 9000s on. The hardware that came with it was different from OEM but worked just fine. I also saw new replacements for the stock bushings that you described on the Help Parts aisle at an O'Reilly AP store in the past. If you like stock better, you could go with new ones that way. Rancho's hardware always worked fine for me.

Are you having fitment issues? If not, Rancho designed that hardware for a reason so I would use it unless it is causing a problem.
