2014 GMC Sierra CC 4WD SLT w/6.2L

Recommended Posts

I went to my guy at the local GMC dealer & we priced a new 2014 truck with the 6.2 & NHT package.

I wanted a SLE like I have, but to get the 6.2L you have to buy the SLT, which means you have leather instead of the cloth I wanted,. However, you can get the 40/20/40 bench seat with the locking lower console which I MUST have...

No rebates yet, but he said by the time the engine is released this fall, there should be some.. so it will be invoice less any rebates.

MSRP: $44,605

Invoice: $41,552.30

Less GMC Loyalty: $500.00

Total before rebates & TT&L: $41,052.30

Now I need to decide if I want a new truck that bad or just keep my paid for 2007 NNBS VortecMax 6.0L with 88,000 miles as I only use this truck for work & boat/tractor towing..

Got my Tahoe LTZ 6.2L to drive for pleasure & trips.. & the 76 IH Scout to mess around in.. Damn I hate decisions like this :)

I hate making those choices too, LOL! I really like the 2014 Silverado's styling both inside and out. It gets temping to buy one it really does, but when I look at spending that amount of money. When all my vehicles are paid for, reliable and I'm attached to them, I end up changing my mind. One good thing is that this style will be available for a few years so maybe in a few years I'll reconsider.

Gene, your 2009 Tahoe has a 6.2? I have never seen a Tahoe with a 6.2. My sister has a 2008 Tahoe LTZ but it has the 5.3. I didn't know you could get them with a 6.2 or I may have gotten one already.

6.2 was offered in the Tahoe only in model year 2009.

Southco

2009 GMC is correct, they made a total of 620 of them in 2009 then found out they were losing Denali sales :)

You had to get the LTZ option to get the L9H engine.. it is a 6.2 with VVT buy no cylinder deactivation.. runs real good & Is a hoot to drive.

I searched for over 6 months & finally found mine with only 35000 miles on it..still in warranty...

I am going to Hennessy Performance next week to talk about a tune.. however, it is said that the intake & exhaust is pretty good as is, so may not change anything but a basic tune...

They made less than 400 ones with the 6.2L?

Can't remember what year.

Hi TahoeL9H,

if I were you I would keep the truck and enjoy that I don't have to do payments.

Then I would start to save just half of the money I would spend every month to finance the new truck.

That gives you a nice "emergency fund".....or a really nice down payment for the next generation coming in fall of 2021...

:)

so long

I want a 6.2L but I don't want leather, so I guess I'll be waiting.

That's where I was at, but I figured I'd be waiting a while, so I just grabbed a 5.3. If you haven't already, give one a test drive, the new 5.3 isn't a gutless pig like the last one.
