Dumb moves by big rigs.

I few years back we had a car load of kids speeding that went under a semi with a dump trailer that was backing into a driveway. Not really the big rigs fault but would of helped if he had a spotter while he was backing across a state route.

Driving in blizzard conditions on I72 around Jacksonville IL. I was going @ 40. I was passing a semi who, I estimate was probably doing @ 25. About the time my drivers seat was even with the front of his trailer, I get passed by another semi. On my left. It is only 2 lanes heading each direction.

Wheeee. If I rolled down my window I bet I could have touched his mirror. I hope visibility was enough for him/her to see my single digit vote of appreciation as he went by. Ding dong had to know what they were doing, they were all over the rumble strip, median, marker reflectors, etc.

This one happened several years back:

The main road snakes as it comes into town. As I was leaving town one morning and stopped at a stop sign, a semi with an empty flat bed passes me going the opposite direction. As he heads around the bend, one of the trailer wheels (not tires, rim + tire = wheel) keeps going. Passed right beside me. It was in flames. ROFLMAO. I had to chase the guy down and let him know he was short a wheel.
