2014 Sierra Options list

Recommended Posts

I'm just waiting for my dealer to call me when the 6.2L go on order so I can build my truck. I'm leaning heavily towards a Denali with standard bed in 4wd with the 6.2L. Although if I can comparabley option out and All Terrain version I may go that route. 2 issues I see so far: The corner step bumper is only available in chrome, correct? So if I get either version above, they come with the monocrome bumpers so no step? Second, I have only built trucks on line. There is no rear entertainment option for a chevy or a gmc. Did they do away with rear seat dvd as well? I also want ventilated seats, I see a lot of complaints about the exhaust blowing hot air into the rear cabin, which no longer has console A/C vents. I'm sure taking a lot of slack about trading an 06 lbz on for a half ton as well. I won't buy a Obamamax with the new emmisions that is for sure. Keep mine, and wait or go for it?

Based on all my research so far and speaking with my dealer -

The step bumper only comes in chrome. You can't get a colored step bumper. However, you can get a chrome step bumper on the all terrain top replace the normal color rear bumper.

I personally decided against doing this when I ordered my all terrain... didn't want to have the front bumper colored and the rear chrome.

Next - you can't get the cooled seats with the All Terrain - at least the double cab is my understanding. I asked many times. Maybe the crew cab is different ??... I could be wrong on this one...

If I can't get those options in the AT package, it looks like it's now a Denali, or loaded up SLT. I know I can get the ventilated seats and safety alert package in and SLT. I also noticed chevrolet has made a trademark of the Z71 off road package, I'm assuming that the AT package has evolved to be it's equal for GMC's. Can I still get the RPO Z71 option in an SLT 4wd? I want the skid plates and stiffer shocks. Denali?

you can get Z71 with a SLT and the denali. all terrain trucks have standard Z71 suspension. Any gmc comes with one of three suspensions, Z60, Z85 or Z71. all Z71s get rancho shocks and skid plates just like a chevy.

Yep... no cooled or "shaky" driver alert seats on All Terrain. Not sure why they did this.. I kinda wanted the cooled seats on my double cab AT..... but specifically did NOT want that annoying driver alert junk. So I was ok with that.

I want it for my wife. I'll just disable it on driver 1. I've found out in the past with all of my trucks that if you go to sell them and they lack 1 option it's a deal-breaker sometimes. So since 99 I haven't left anything out. On my 03 DMax, a guy actully didn't buy it because it lacked cab lights. That was the only option it didn't have. Stupid, I know. I really like the AT look. Too bad. I like the Denali look but I don't want a metro looker. I'm an avid hunter and use my trucks all fall for hunting. The off road package and shorter wheels really do benefit me.

The one I drove last week was a SLT with the Z71 package and the 20" wheels like the one I'm going to order. Wasn't an All Terrain. If I was going to do any off roading to speak of I would go with the 18" wheels. Driver alert does work. Gives you a little pulse on the seat or you can set it to beep. Not sure if I want it or not yet.

I'm considering a Denali over a loaded SLT and finding it a bit frustrating that some options like the All-terrain, Max. Trailer tow, and Z71 Off-road packages eliminate the possibility of other desirable options. Of those it is the Z71 package that is the most desirable to me but it does conflict with some other options which I can't recall at the moment. Is it likely I can at least buy skid plates separate from the Z71 off-road package?

edit. Ahh, I remember the problem with the Z71 package - somewhere down the line of checking off appealing options it ends up requiring 20" wheels. I really, really don't want big wheels and it's a bit ridiculous that an off-road package would come with them.

Don't think you have to have 20" wheels with the Z71 package. That might have been a problem with the web configurator. If you want the 18" or 20" wheels they are the same with or without the Z71 package. The all terrain package has its own 18" or 20" wheels.

Everyone who has said that you cannot get the heated/cooled seats on the AT is correct. That along with driver alert. If you do choose the chrome bumper package (I did), you get a chrome front and rear bumper just like the SLT. The AT comes standard with the Z71 package, but just AT badging. AT's come standard with the 18" wheels, but I ordered mine with the AT "Plus" package that includes the 20" painted/machined wheels. In fact, I haven't seen a single AT on any dealer's lot without the plus package.

Yeah, it looks like to get everything I want, I may have to go with the Denali. It comes standard with the z85 suspension, skid plates, and the g80 rear locker. Also, standard trailer brake controller and hill decent/start assist with the 6.2L. Basicallly a rear DVD, and sunroof is all I have to add. It looks like Navi is standard too. The 20" wheels are ok, I just didn't want 22"s. I really like the look of the machined wheels on the AT.
