2014+ Gas Mileage (MPG) Topic

Recommended Posts

I believe from my limited experience with this setup that in real world settings these trucks will never see what they are advertised and prompted to do. They told me that on the interstate they would run in V4 mode at speed limit, well I know of no interstate highway that it is even safe to run 58 mph continues for this thing to work. The worst readings in mpg 25 so far is 13.2. So far real world is between 15 & 16 mpg overall average. I could do this good with a Dodge. Good bye Chevy truck.

Is the truck stock, what tires, etc?

A lot can play into mpgs.

I didn't say anything about trading, I stopped payment on the 14K down payment and said fix it or keep it don't care which one.

It has BF Goodrich all terrains factory size, they came on it. Only had it three days. Another dealer said the same thing.

That's a MPG hit with AT tires. How about the airdam, installed still? Did the dealer verify it's not tuned as well?

Yea it is installed and they checked it on the machined and right after they told me that all of that way is when I spazed out on them.

Are you 16? Lol, you spazed out at them? Have an adult conversation and work out a plan.

Stock size AT shouldn't cause that hit. I run large than stock 10 ply LT AT tires and using regular 87 octane I can easily get 18mpg going 70mph on the freeway. If I go a little slower and baby it I can squeeze out about 19mpg. My AFM/v4 mode will kick on and off up into the low 70's on flat ground as long as my truck in not loaded up with extra weight.

Something is not right with his truck, he should be getting better than that if it's all stock. Lots of guy on here claim 20+mpg. His dealer shouldn't be claiming it's just normal.

Yeah, I realize that. I'm just trying to help and see where the MPGs are getting hit. You'll never see sticker highway mpgs with AT tires (unless you're coasting downhill)

No I'm 52 and spazed was a nice way to put it, I raised mortal hell right at the verge of server violence. I have an extremely low tolerance for bullshit and don't appreciate when a business tries to treat me like a moron. They quit ****ing when I stopped payment on the 14K down payment check.

How's that for a plan. I now have their complete and undivided attention and now they are well aware that they can keep it or fix it, preferably keep it because they already said they are all like that.

What size are those tires because if they are 10 ply tires that could pretty much explain the difference, depending on the size...

I know you said "Factory size" But what size are the tires specifically.
