That part of the sentence, "especially carbureted" engines. Not sure this RVP really applies to FI, especially DI engines.

Interesting to say the least. I still say it's our gov trying to baffle/confuse us with their never ending bullshit!

Had my truck for several months now here in California.

It's a 5.3 4x4 crew short box.

The mileage is dissapointing, on long trips including some steep grades the best I get is 19 mpg.

I'll admit, I am somewhat a lead foot, and drive between 75-85 on HWY.

I noticed my mileage detioriated a lot when the tires dropped below 30 psi, so I am maintaining them around 37 psi with improved results.

19 MPG is good at the speed, at 72 MPH I get close to 22 MPG on 93 gas. These trucks are bricks through the air.

Anything over 70mph and the MPG will drop quick in these trucks. Sweet spot for the best MPG is 60-70mph.

The MPG does drop pretty quick between 70-89. But at 90-96 it starts to level and at 97-115 it still gets around 12 mpg. These trucks feel so alive at 115MPH!

I can't do that straight and level..74 maybe.

ive heard that from quite a few people. i don't get why mine will do it. another guy i talked to at work has a Black A/T w/6.2 and he said his will go into v4 at high speeds also.

side note: i really wish i coul have a v4 override of some sort, so i could force it into v4 when i want

I will say that my mileage doesn't go down much below 18 at high speeds. I'll drop from 22ish at 70 to 18 at 80...brief stints up to 85 for a few miles results in a 25 mpg average of 17.5. My 07 Denali was much the same...but it was 18 @ 70, 80 or 85.
