Don't let it fool you, that's easy to do, reset your mpg on trip a and coast down a hill. Then read your average

Yea but that's over the course of 1,109 miles, that's what has me thrown off

LOL thats a glitch with Onstar. My phone says 35 mpgs - which is of course totally wrong.

If you take his miles divide by gallons left, you'll get the real figure of about 16mpg.

My last trip; mods in sig. Included 48 miles of city driving in Houston; the rest was highway. I have spent more time running E85 and the best I can get on bassicly the same trip is 13.2. My numbers on the DIC come out about 3% less than hand calculated on average so they are pretty close. This is better than any of my last 3 trucks that were only leveled with 33 and 34" tires by atleast 1 mpg. The closest was a 2012 Duramax the worst was a 2010 Tundra, Tundra got just a tad over 11. Overall I am very happy.

Not true. I was doing 75 MPH on the PA turnpike and got this...

It was still going up to. It's at 29.7 now and was still rising when I had to get off the exit. I'm sure I would've been able to hit well over 30 mpg as well. 50 mile average is 25 and some change and was still going up as well. I have the 5.3 with 3.42 gears and factory 22's @ 35 psi.

Sorry about the bad picture!

I think he is saying your speedo is off but not sure? Mine doesn't get that going down hill at 75 so I have no dog in this hunt. Edited by CAtaylor

I might have been doing 60 when I took that picture. Might have had to slow down for someone in front of me at the time. The point if that picture wasn't too shower my speed. 99% of the trip was cruise at 75 and that's what I got for about the last 40 miles give or take...

I couldn't see tell if the speedo gauge was reading 60 mph at 1500 rpm's is all. I thought maybe my transmission wasn't shifting to 6th gear is all. plus the best I have gotten is 20 miles to the gallon. Norm

Was this from a standing start or was this 25 miles with the gauge reset while you were already rolling along at 75 mph? There are lots of games you can play to make the gauge look good, but is that your real fuel economy?

My 5.3, 3.42 gear, 4x4 with 20" factory wheels gets on average 20.5 if I stay on the highway and at around 65mph. 70-80mph and it is lucky to see 19.2. My truck has 20,000 miles on it now, so it is fully broken in too.
