What is a G80, locker or posi?

Recommended Posts

Depends. What shape are you existing shafts is the question? They probably have some pretty good wear happening where the bearing and seal ride so new ones wouldn't hurt. Unless you have it in 4wd all the time that front carrier is just floating anyway. True test is pulling the drivers side stub shaft once you unbolt the cv. If its welded in the clip on the shaft has worn into the spider gear on the drivers side. If it pops out easily the front will probably look like new inside. Your call. Well I can't upload the pic to show you how the rear shafts are, the size is too big. You can see where the seal rode on the shaft, but it is smooth so I'm assuming the rears are good.

I just picked up a front differential with 81k miles on it, so the axles should be pretty good. I know they slide in and out. How exactly do you remove those front axles? Do you just pull on them or is there a c clip on the inside of the differential I need to remove?
