Pretty set on swapping lifts...

Recommended Posts

Now that Ive had my RCX lift for about a year, I noticed some things. First thing I noticed (right after I installed it) is it aint no 6" lift. Measured and its 4.5". Their customer service sucks. Contacted them four times on this and no reply.

So I was wondering how the Mcgaughy's lift is? It is a 7" lift, and looks like a TRUE 7" lift. And it is really affordable, but does that mean it is not very quality built? I know I saw a thread on here from about a year ago and he had installed it on a NNBS and it looked pretty good. And for under $1600 shipped, you cant beat that! I just want what I pay for.

Maybe its just the design of the 99-02 trucks, but with supposedly 9" of lift (really closer to 7.5") my truck still seems kind of low to me. Any info on the McGaughy's lift would be great

It's a bad ass lift from what I hear. $1600 ain't cheap to me lol.

OK it ain't cheap but it is not the cost of a fabtech lift or cognito lift. It is actually close to what I paid for my RCX lift

Oh OK, here's the link to the other member who installed the lift.

Yup that's the thread I saw. And I just looked up reviews on mcgaughy's and they are all positive but I haven't really seen one for their lift kits. I think I will put one on since everyone says their lowering kits are awesome quality, I figured it would be the same quality in a lift kit.

If only they would powder coat it black and not silver. That's my only problem with it

A little rust-o-leum fixes that

I looked up the install instructions for it and one of the first lines in it, it states that any painting of the lift will void the warranty. Not sure what kind of warranty it comes with though

Now I have to get a replacement front differential because I had to grind my front mount off on mine and the new kit doesn't require that. Still worth it if I get the full 7" of lift as it states

Oh well, I can hold off on the lift with it waiting in the garage until I can get the front and rear differentials regeared, that way Im only installing the front once. The rear is not a big deal, but since I have an extra housing (rear) I can get that built witht the front differential :D
