New 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Owners

Recommended Posts

I ordered a new GMC Sierra 1500 last week and now the wait begins. I looked at the GMC website and noticed they have new accessory packages dealer installed at not no cost.

i was wondering if any new owners or people that ordered already were offered these options by the dealers.

These new packages are:cargo convenience package, bed protection package and chrome appearance package.

I ordered the SLT model and not sure if these are included in SLT model only.

I followed up with the dealer to see if they would honor these accessory packages. These were not available or offered when i built my truck. It should not delay in building the truck as they are all dealer installed. I have not heard back from them.

Let me know anyone got these packages before or after you got the truck.

Thanks

I wouldn't bother with the bed protection package, the bonded option works way better

No way they're free / no cost options. Those packages are worth $2000 combined and dealer's aren't big fans of giving stuff away.

GMC's site is known to often have errors. Two weeks ago, it wouldn't let me build an SLT without adding the Off-road Package automatically. Now it's fixed.

Also, it might only say $0 now b/c the dealer's determine the actual amounts charged for accessories.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on over at GM. Since the day they officially announced the new trucks, the Silverado's site was beautifully created and maintained. In comparison, the Sierra's site seems like an afterthought.

GMCs site has sucked since I began looking to buy my current truck in 2010.

They are accessory packages that will be offered later on. They just added some on the GM employee build site. The pricing will be added later. They make good money on accessories. When they bundle them like that I'm sure it helps sell them.

GMC's web site sucks... and I don't criticize often. The "search inventory" function is useless... cars.com does a better job finding GM trucks than GM itself. Compare to the Ford site, which has an excellent design. How can there be such good examples of how it should work, and yet they can't replicate it? They need to spend some of those advertising dollars on their web marketing group, and totally revamp it.
