Explosion of Police Tahoes in the area.

I have been seeing a TON of Police Tahoes in my area the last few months. Last year they were extremely rare. I think one local town turned all their crown vics orders into tahoes this year. Last year I don't think they had any early last year and at a wreck a few weeks ago there were four!

My guess is because its the only police vehicle left with a frame?

GM going crazy over the caprice and now everyone is buying what they already offered. Bet they didnt see that coming if that is why.

Ive seen quite a few Tahoes as well in my area. Not to mention twice as many Taurus SHO's. My uncle is a state trooper and drove one before and said it sucks driving FWD vehicles because you cant whip them around (to make a U turn) as fast

I know like 60% of the game wardens in my area have Tahoes as well, and those things look pretty bad @$$ with the winch and all

I grab a Tahoe at work any chance I get. We have less of them than crown vics and impalas but they are so awesome! The totally blacked out ones are my fav! We only have 2 all black ones at my station and they are never not driven! Badass trucks for police work. Tons of room in em

MSP has lots of Tahoes and they look great.

Calumet post up here in da U.P. has 2 'hoes, one is an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive as each post up hear always has a 4x4. I just today seee one MSP Tahoe responding to accident. He was flying and that thing was hunkered down. I was standing by the side of the road when he went by moving at high speed, you could feel the wind blow by.

I worked for the DOT (retired now) and went to Lansing some years back to get my new K2500 HD Suburban. While they were outside changing my radio to the new burb I had to go in to sign for the vehicle and get my credit card. They had this huge shop in Lansing State of Michigan secondary complex with 20+ bays and inside was nothing but blue Tahoes with all the guts ripped out of them installing all the lights, radios and saftey gear. Car carriers were also dropping them off right at the state facility, the lot must have had 1000 or more Blue Tahoes + other colored Tahoes and suburbans like my orange one. The dispatcher said all the hoes and burbs were bought on the same order and started arriving 2 weeks ago. That was in late August so the assembly plant must have started with this huge fleet order. I think that was the last year for Janesville.

When I was up at Ignace two weekends ago an MSP Charger went by full tilt on US 2, most wicked sound ever- figure a combo of the engine, road noise and extra wind from the light maybe? Donno for sure but it got my attention.
