4" lift questions

Recommended Posts

I own a 2010 1500 silverado with the 5.3 6speed. Thinking about going with a 4" lift when my current tires wear out. I've done some studying and people seem to like the Rancho 4" lift. So I'm pretty sure that is the kit I will go with. Next question is what should I do for shocks? I have the z71 package so are the stock shocks good enough or would it be a good idea to get some different ones?? Next what for tires? I already have a set of moto metal 951 18x9 wheels +18 offset and from what I have read I would go with a set of 33x12.5x18 tires they should clear fine correct? I would consider going with 34s but If at all possible I would rather not re-gear and keep my stock 3.42 gears. And also the garage that it sits in currently has a door 6'10" tall will it fit in there with the 4" lift and 33X12.5X18 tires?? Lots of questions I know but I know there is somebody out there with this exact set up that will be able to answer all my questions.

Good kit. You will have to get shocks...rancho's are fine. Wheels and tires will work. Your truck will sit roughly 4" higher when your done unless you keep your leveling kit, so measure to see if it will fit.

thanks for the info. Do I need to keep my leveling kit with the lift in order for my truck to sit level??

Mine had a good bit of rake with the aal that Rancho provides, I ended up taking it off and my truck sat pretty much level. The front end did settle some over the course of a few months though, I then added a .5" level from Fat Bob's. The 2" level would be too much for the front end IMO.
