HID Headlight Bulbs / HID Projector Retrofit

Recommended Posts

The next month is going to be exciting too. Let's just say we have some solutions coming out for some of the most common questions/requests that we get in regard to the new Sierras.........

1.)Dimming led DRL issue

2.) and perhaps an answer to the "I bought an SLE, is there anyway to make my lights look like SLTs?"........

Stay tuned folks :)

Just an update guys. All orders from this past week have shipped. Apparently our website is not integrating with usps and sending out automatic emails when the products ship. This was brought to my attention last night. Hope to have that resolved this weekend. All these brackets go via usps priority shipping. Hope to have tracking numbers to folks who haven't gotten them. Thanks to those who brought this tech glitch to our attention.

I got mine the other day. Thanks

First, off I want to clear up that I am not bashing or throwing them under the bus. I bought them and I would by them again if I need them as they are a good price and look great. I wouldn't pick red if given the choice, but they will not be seen on the truck. I can't wait to put them on, but I need my other cap to show up first. Fingers crossed, it will be here Friday.

I am just using these to put them into prospective for people. I don't know everything about machine work or production, but I do know that you are for a large part paying for time you take up on a machine that is more expensive that he part by a lot. For instance for a billet aluminum cap would be about $600 to $700 and the block of aluminum will not be cheap, but most of the cost is for the time on the $100,000 or more machine. These parts are the same way and cost far less than the machine, so what you are paying for is time on the machine. Also, keep in mind people don't feed their family on thank you. I am not trying to keep up on rent or cover the overhead of a machine purchase. I am just hoping to break even on this project. If I did buy a machine, I could cut the cost a good bit, but then I have to start charging more above the cost of the part to pay for the machine and of course this would be a risk on a part that currently doesn't have enough demand to cover it even I was selling them at $200 each. I hope demand goes up and I can take positive steps for everyone, but it simply not possible right now, but if you keep this in mind you will realize this is a good price for the current conditions. $110 for each cap that is much larger than these adapter (that are also a good price and good quality) that are much smaller and are selling for $45.

I will post pictures of my install of these adapter with any tips I come up with at the time. Hopefully this weekend. If you have not installed your FXR projectors yet order these as they will make all the hard parts much easier and provide a solid install. I have already had one of mine shift, so I know it can happen and even though I have not installed these I don't see how these can't improve the install.

I don't see why the caps us Sierra guys are getting made have such a difference in pricing. Maybe we got lucky with Jon, I'm guessing he already had a 3d printer or some other machine of the sort to work his magic on!

-Skeet

He does have a 3D printer.

Hi Guys, I got an 2014 SLE, I went with the cheap route, Yes I know but some HID kits are too expensive. I got some Kensun 6k 9006 and some Kensun Brand Capacitors. The set up goes like this

Stock Cables<Capacitors<Ballast<Bulb.

They work, but not instantly. Sometime they come on but other times they flicker then turn off.

I gotta give them time too turn on or giggle with lamps to get them to fire up.

The Ballast says there digital slim. Could that be the issue? Or Could it be the Caps?

Suck I got a wait 5 to 10 mins after work for my headlight to get ready.

The issue with 3d printing is time. Tremendously slow. If I were selling those caps I would have to charge like 500 for them to make it worth the while. Lol. $110 is cheap as hell.

$110 a cap is not cheap as hell. I can have them done for $50 a cap. The other guy got mad when I was going to be selling them to help members. I doubt anyone will buy them at $110 a cap. I might move forward and make a few they would be $110 for the set shipped probably. I would not even move forward unless the other gentlemen allowed it because he was already pissed when I mentioned it.

I will post some pictures of my caps as well and do a write up soon
