HID Headlight Bulbs / HID Projector Retrofit

Fastws6ta: do u want the splitters back? I have no use for them. Can I still install this kit if I remove the lenses? I'm going to clear the headlights and have the black trim piece painted. Where can I get some switch backs for the turn signals and some demon eyes?

Anyone have pics of switchbacks installed?

Is there anything special I have to do to them to keep from having super fast blinkers like most led turn signal bulbs?

Try resistor maybe???

Stupid question but, what I am supposed to do with the stock headlight connector when installing the Silverado spec kit?

uh no, not that one lol, plug that back in. Twist open the dust cap right behind the main headlight, you will see a 2 pin connector

Thanks, I figured it out after looking at the FastHeadlight install guide, long day lol. Now, next question, what about the two red wires coming off the morimoto projector? I'm assuming those aren't used for the silverado?

You could use them, but they are the bi-xenon shutters if your headlight is single bulb. Only really used in Sierras as they only have 1 bulb in each headlight, uncover the shutter with those 2 wires is for high beam.

You could wire them to your highbeam signal, essentially 4 highbeams all together! BUWAHAH!!

just received my morimoto hid kit. Kit comes with 1 HD relay H11, 1 Capacitor Link, 2 35 w ballasts, 2 morimoto igniter (amp)?, and 2 6k bulbs. Alittle confused between the 1 capacitor and 2 ignitors?

Thanks to MotoMedi, and everyone that has contributed to this thread!

I've got a few follow-up questions if anyone has the time to answer:

I am looking to purchase my HID kit from DDMTuning, for a 2015 Silverado 2500HD W/T.

I have two primary questions, regarding the harness and caps. How do I determine whether I need a single or dual harness? And regarding the cap, DDM has two options: "BOW3" and 4700uF's, do I only need the caps and not the error eliminator?

My final question, would I have to get a separate balast if I wanted my hi-beams HID as well? The low is an H11 and the high is a 9005, if that makes a difference.

Thanks everyone, can't wait to get these in!

You only need 1 capacitor. It will go between the OEM power output (which is in your passenger side headlight) and the relay harness. The other side (driver side) headlight will be powered from the same source so no need for 2 capacitors. You have 2 igniters because each bulb needs an igniter.
