Winch Mount Front Bumper (with sensors)?

Recommended Posts

New to the bumper with sensors.

Does anyone make a bumper, possibly allowing winch mount, that preserves/allows moving the front bumper sensors into the after-market bumper?

I searched but did not find anything.

Do you definitely want to replace the front bumper? ..or simply wish to add a winch?

I ask b/c, while under my truck removing the lower front air dam, I noticed there's a fairly large area behind the front license plate where you could mount a winch (provided you fabricated custom mounts) and maintain the factory bumper. Though I'm not sure if this location would be too low to use the winch effectively or too difficult to access the winch's controls?

I am not sure, just wanted to explore the winch option and possibly put a aftermarket/off-road type bumper, but it seemed it might not be an option or would require relocation of the sensors (if that is possible). Geaux Tigers.

Even if the bumper you eventually purchased isn't designed for the sensors, with a little skill, you could easily retro-fit them. Basically you'd just have to drill a few holes in the new bumper to place the sensors then likely splice the factory sensor wiring solely for the purpose of making them longer. If you don't mind getting dirty, lay down and take a look at things behind the lower front bumper. You'll see it's a fairly simple setup.

I hope these front sensors work better than the ones in the rear of my 2011. In the winter or after a wash I always have trouble with them.
