well Everybody, I can FINALLY pass my Judgement on the 2014 Silverado&

Recommended Posts

and i'm VERY Impressed at what GM has done! I visited Alexander Chevrolet-Buick-GMC this afternoon after seeing that they had got some in recently, and I talked with one of the salesman (who's name is Roger) and he walked me through the truck and its features.

This is the Truck he showed me: http://www.dicksonchevy.com/VehicleDetails/new-2014-Chevrolet-Silverado_1500-Crew_Cab_Short_Box_4_Wheel_Drive_1LT-Dickson-TN/2004356383

one of the first things he demonstrated was the E-Z Down Tailgate, which was pretty cool. the next thing he showed to me was the Engine Compartment, and I was Relieved to see that the plastic beauty covers seen on the Reveal truck were NOT there! next was the GMT900's weak point: the Interior; it felt nice and roomy, the fit and Finish was Excellent, and it was VERY Nicely Equipped with the Mylink Touch Screen and in the Console, there was the Auxillary port, TWO USB Ports, and an SD Card Slot. there were also TONS of Power Outlets througout the truck, which included a 115 Volt AC Outlet! He demonstrated the pausing of LIVE XM Sattelite Radio, and the Interior is also SPOOKILY Quiet (the truck he Demo'd to me was actually parked near a VERY busy 4 lane Highway) and he said himself that he was amazed on how quiet the Interior now is, because he went to a seminar hosted by GM, and they had the Competition there (a Ford F-150, and a RAM 1500) and he said you could hear a convorsation being held outside in the ram and the Ford, but you COULD NOT Hear anyone talking outside the Silverado! he demonstrated this by rolling up and down the Driver's Window to hear the Difference. and Ladies and Gentleman, GM HAS LISTENED, because in the truck I was in, in the Center Stack was a SEPERATE CARGO LAMP SWITCH! I also asked if there are lighted Glove Box lights on the Higher Trim Levels, and he said YES. he also said that the Plastic Bed Rail Caps are standard because of all the complaints GM had about the scratching of the Bed Rail Caps on the GMT900s. I also was amazed to find that the 2014 Wheel house Liners are CARPETED like a Bed Rug! he mentioned this is also to cut down on road noise, and he showed to me the forward facing Mud flaps which are actually part of a comprehensive Aerodynamics Package to improve Fuel Economy. all in all, once you get past the funky looking outside, the Silverado looks to be a VERY Capable and Comfortable truck!
