And Im curious about "back to the wall purchase" of his 13 silverado. What the heck does that mean? Very agressive salesman?

I read it as " I spent money I didn't have to buy a truck I didn't need so now I want someone else to pay for my out of warranty broken car"

Sounds like the OP needs to get rid of his new truck because he can't afford it. Once that happens, go buy some plugs and wires and do the work yourself, it isn't that hard.

Guys chill out and please stop attacking the OP, consider this your warning. He posed a FAIR question, the fact is the item a 100K maintenance item and it only lasted 50% of that. It is FAIR to for the manufacturer to at least support it, doesnt mean he is asking for 100% coverage.

He did explain that elsewhere. Something about his 06 died & needed a replacement asap. Leased a 2013 for three years that was not exactly what he wanted, but needed something.*I think*.

Uh, Ryan, he didn't ask a question. He made a statement.

So just so I am clear, you bought a vehicle with a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty, drove it for 5-6 years and but an additional 16,000 beyond warranty on it and are butt hurt that GM will not pay for maintenance on it? Seems like a legit bitch

it's not like I'm looking for them to foot the bill, but offer some help. I didn't expect to be paying for any sense of a Tune Up for another 48,000 miles....if the car had higher mileage, it wouldn't bother me much.....but 52,000 miles for something they lead you to believe should last 100,000 :nonod:

exactly.....that why it's leased.

not at all......I could have gotten the truck I wanted, but was writing a check for $18,000 for siding on my house that week.....so I examined my priorities, and cut back on the truck, knowing that in 3 years I'll be in a better position financially.....meaning, not to have any effect on my lifestyle, nor investments.....regardless of anything

I can well afford what I need, I just feel that some things are more important than having a new top of the line truck....it's not like I park it in a trailer park, or will be scraping for $$$ when I retire....and I feel that a manufacturer who leads one to believe an item will last 100,000 miles, should at least step up to the plate when it doesn't.....and again...not looking for full coverage

Thank You.....just venting my displeasure.....I get beat up more from my buddies with Fords....

OR someone that knows what a rachet is and how to use it.

Why do I have a feeling he has spent more on gas than a plug and wire cost.

23 year Tech.......Volvo Master...and Nissan Senior Specialist....but that was 12 years ago.....got a simple job with great bennies to carry me to an early retirement.....no more scraping my knuckles or trying to play beat the clock....it took all the fun out of working on my own. I have a ton of respect for those who do it, it's gotta be tough in these economic times

I have am honest question. You say the dealer has stepped up several times for other issues. Your 06 (an 06!) Died. The saturn has issues.

Why did you go back to GM for your truck? Sounds like the GM products havent treated you well.

So your plugs and wire went bad early, as you put it. What cause them to go bad? O2 sensor?

Personally, I'd be embarrassed to ask for such a request from GM, and even more to tell the world about it.

I don't know about the OP's car, but I just finished some repairs on our Toyota Sienna. Since it was at the 110k mile mark, I went ahead and did some maintenance items, including the plugs. I am not kidding when I say it took the better part of a day to do 6 plugs on that thing. The back three are impossible to reach without partially dissembling the intake. I had the wiper system, cowl, and most of the intake out, and *still* cut myself to pieces, cussed a country mile (so to speak), and liked to have never removed the rear/center ignitor. If there's a bad way to address Japanese engineers, I think I used them all :)

All of that to say... don't say a "spark plug job" is trivial until you've done it on that specific vehicle.
