2014+ owners having issues with their truck?

Recommended Posts

These aren't fake issues... at about 9k miles I had to have my diff replaced, the tech said he had never seen one worn that bad, let alone after only 9k miles... took me out and showed me... it looked like it came out of a million mile truck, I was as shocked as he was... even after it was replaced it still clunked and vibrated...I love Chevy.. but QC is non-existant now... Im about done with GM... I traded my Viberado in on a Traverse... and im noticing issues with it too now after only 29k...

Yeah I'm right there with you guys. My truck has 7500 miles on it and already needs a new drive shaft so that's fun. Not very optimistic about the longevity of this truck.

They've had my truck for 5 days for the "clunk" and have me driving a Malibu.

What kind of clunk is it? My 2005 Silverado had a clunk sometimes when putting into reverse. I first noticed it when it was pretty new and still under warranty. Service dept told me it was normal and gave me a TSB describing it. Something with backlashing in the transmission or something like that. Had the truck for 9.5 yrs and 105k miles without any issues. I went to get a trade in value for it at a GMC dealership last fall and they said we knocked 500 off the value because of a clunk when putting into gear. I laughed and told them about the TSB. Not saying yours in normal, hopefully they'll figure it out. Over the years I've slowly lost faith in service departments ability to properly diagnose issues correctly the first time. Don't even get me started on my wife's milkshaker aka Acadia (former Acadia as of last week). Good luck.

Got my truck back.

However there was over 100 miles added to the odometer. Does that seem a bit excessive? How long was that test drive???

Ok... I will be bringing my truck back to the dealer. Not sure what they did besides put 107 miles on my truck!

This the thing shifts terrible. Especially 1-2 ...

If I let off of the gas then goose the throttle a bit the truck does not know what gear to go in and seems go into neutral? The truck revs up but I still slow down...

I am getting a whole 10mpg around town...

Then going from v4/v8 there is an odd clunk.

Put it in 4x4 today and it has a loud whirl to it.

This truck is $47k turd!!!

Just got my truck back from the dealer as they stated they could not duplicate anything I listed.

When I dropped it off I listed the following issues: park assist malfunctioning in snow, clunk in rear while breaking, hard transmission shift while decelerating, high pitched noise in 4 wheel drive.

I got in the truck and didn't even get off the lot before the high pitched noise was present. I shrugged and decided to deal with it. We are getting snow here in Denver today and as I got off the highway on the drive home a high pitched noise and my park assist lit up again for no reason.

2 of the 4 issues i dropped it off for are still present in the truck and I'd be willing to bet the others are too. I'm sick of driving a loaner that has a crappier interior than my truck so I didn't return it yet. I don't know what to do here...I guess I'll have to bring it back tomorrow.

I see ONE main issue here and that is GM not owning up to anything , while making you feel like an idiot when you tell them stuff is wrong.

I serioulsy had not had 1 issue , where the dealer didnt push back on atleast 1 time.

" Yeah , its normal" is the first thing you must learn when you work for GM
