2014+ owners having issues with their truck?

Recommended Posts

It seems as if a good portion of problem trucks have been crew cabs. I believe it's the build date, because mine was built 6/2013. Production started April 26 with crew cabs. Chevy touts themselves as American and should build them here as well. Its embarrassing.

More than 60% of trucks sold today are crews I believe... This would explain more problems

Is this a guess estiment of do you have figures from GM? I sure pass alot of 14's in my area but you need to get a good loom at them to tell if they are double cab or crews now that they both have 4 door handels.

I test drove it, but it took less than 1000 miles to bring up the problems. No problems with the people of Mexico esse'. Just want a good truck, not a POS. Im not here to start political crap and get booted. Being able to see others have problems let's me know im not the only one.

But you're implying that Mexican built trucks are POS. Based on what evidence? I can show you plenty of cars built in the US by Americans that are POS. I can show you a thread with a new 2015 Silverado HD built by the UAW where the bumper backets fell off a week after delivery.

And for the record, I'm not Mexican, so don't call me ese.

Got my 2014 SLT All Terrain a couple of weeks now and absolutely love it! No problems yet! The 2010 Ford FX4 I had was nothing but trouble.

Ford Trouble

passenger seat needed to be changed it rattled so bad!

Rear defrost won't work and dealer won't change window

lost power steering twice

roof liner fell in and I had to re-velcro it

water leaking in from passenger grab handle

tire pressure monitor alarming still after 7 trips to dealer

rear bumper rusted badly

loud front end clunk in 4 wheel drive

Door seals keep falling off

battery changed

Rear view mirror falling off

Now all that was with only 30 thousand km and I treat all my vehicles and other big boy toys with care. We spend too much money on these items to get garbage. So it's back to a GMC and hopefully I'll be lucky enough to have gotten a good one!

Someone was whining about the cupholder being too small. :freak:

Anyway, you can pull the rubber insert out and it's bigger by a good amount, if you just have to have 32oz's of pure cane sugar. :fart:

Maybe we should bitch that there's no microwave available in the center console.

My brother got a Ford and his was in the shop for a couple weeks because the battery kept going dead. It was a problem with the computer. He isn't very impressed. At least the eventually found the problem and fixed it.

Meanwhile, I have 12,000 miles on mine and here are the troubles I've had:

1. Two recalls (really, this is no big deal--it gives me a chance to browse the dealer lot)

2. Radio knobs don't light up (I don't really care)

3. High pitched sound in 4wd (this does bug me sometimes)

The radio works better than the aftermarket one I was using in my previous vehicle. No shakes, vibrations, loose seats, etc.

I must say I'm quite happy with my truck.

Ya, I was about to get to no microwave!

Anyway, one thing I really like about the '14s with the console is that you can remove the cup holder and have a very deep storage area. The spot is perfect to hold things out of sight of passing cars and trucks looking thru the mirrors etc...:). You can also place things in there and replace the cup holder for even better black ops.

I have a question... there's times when I'm listening to my iPod touch via Bluetooth and when an album ends and I select another song it won't play. Its as if it loses connection because all I have to do is switch to radio and then back to media devices (ipod) and its working again. Any ideas as to what the problem may be or the fix?
