2014+ owners having issues with their truck?

Recommended Posts

Update:

The dealer gave me a loaner Cruz until I get my truck back.

They were able to start the truck with no problem. They did have a PIE paper or something from GM about the cold/no start issue. I also saw the print out diagnosis of my battery. The service tech explained that the battery was low, but not low enough to be considered defective. GM advised they keep the truck overnight and try a cold start first thing in the morning. I hope it happens for them so they can continue diagnosing the problem.

I asked the tech why after driving 148 miles the battery didn't charge to full. I got no direct answer to the question.

I should get an update from them tomorrow.

Take a look at the "getting to know your 2014 Silverado". It clearly shows the rings turned on.

guess I'll have to contact the dealer next week!

Jennifer, can you please find out why these are apparently turned off?

Tks

My dealer ordered parts and got the LEDs working!! Great Dealer!!

My dealer replaced all the injectors in an effort to fix the hard starting with lots of black smoke. There appeared to be an improvement but whe we got some very sold weather the problem reappeared. The dealer told me that this problem is not seen on all the 2014s they see! They are looking into other possible causes.

YEP...SAME EXACT ISSUE I HAD!!!!

Funny you say that. Apt. tomorrow. They will replace the defrost panel. When pressing down on the panel it would stop. You may notice it is warped when cold and straightens when warmer inside ...It took several weeks for the part to come in so I am hoping they changed the design to not rattle when cold. Also have a faint rattle in the dash near the driver side left vent. Hopefully they can find that problem as we'll. otherwise the truck had been great...

and believe it or not the rattle that sounds like it is coming from the drivers side vent is the kneeboard or kick board trim or what ever its called under the steering wheel. there is a peice of metal heat shield behind it that vibrates.. My dealer fixed that too.

I have been waiting a week on my dealer's reply and so far nothing. The service rep says GM has not responded to this and my salesman told me that GM reserves the right to change the product during the production year. I called GM before I took it into my dealer and was told they could not respond until I took it into the dealership. Sounds like GM is letting the dealers decide if they want to fix it or not.

For those who had this issue fix please post any TSB's on this for those of us trying to get this issue resolved. Meanwhile I think I may call GM again.

How much did the transmitter and buttons cost Sent from my Nexus 5

FYI: I was told that I CANNOT add this feature to my 2014 Silverado and that if I did it may void part of my warranty. I returned my transmitter and buttons (which were in the neighborhood of $170) and will be installing the following item:

http://www.amazon.com/Homelink-2000-4103-HomeLink-Gray/dp/B00A79HS0Y/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1394217753&sr=1-2

It's cheaper and there are dealers that can do the install for you. That is the best price I could find and they have 3 different colors. Don't bother with the parts from GM. There tec service says that if it is not in the accessories catalog that it can't be added... :shakehead: They would not even allow the GM service department to install their home link system in my truck.

It means when you have the the my link radio, there is a maximum startup volume in the radio settings, everyone at my dealership including mine used to stay at the volume that you last shut the truck off, when it should have started up at the volume you had the setting at in the radio

Anyone have an issue with there driver side door being a 1/4" off? I have an annoying rattle directly next to my left ear. I examined the door while closed and noticed it protrudes approximately 1/4" out. So when you shut the door the weather stripping and plastic molding on the door do not make full contact and thus leading to the rattle. I added some 3/8" home window weather stripping to the factory stripping and it solved the rattle. Now another trip to the dealer to see if the can adjust the door.

This is the second issue on the left side of my truck that was misaligned. The first was the front fender that was all out of whack, had a dent in it upon delivery.

Anthony i have the same promblem . I have various noises coming form my drivers side door. One of which is the noisy weatherstripping. I had the dealership adjust the door striker too tighten the door but i still have noise. To me it seems like there is alot of "slop" in the door.

You can always try the extra weather stripping like I did. That solved my rattle. Looks like sh!t tho. Hopefully then can adjust mine with out causing a new issue. My door does not sag so that's a plus. My old Bronco had a saggy door and that thing squeaked like no other.

Thanks for the info! I am going in for a oil change in a few weeks so I might have them look at it again. There is alot of plastic trim pieces on theses doors so I am sure the cold doesnt help with the noise either.
