2014+ owners having issues with their truck?

JAC50, I was refering to Steve1234. If I disliked my truck that much, I would buy a different brand.

I am going to take the same hit with 3000kms or 15000kms, so I might aswell disburse the hit over 6 months, but yes I absolutely plan on getting rid of it ASAP. I will likely buy a Ram, whcih I'm sure will also have issues but the truck is $8000 less and has quite a few more features.

I just purchased a new 14' Sierra Denali on Tuesday. I love the truck it is amazing.

Yesterday the StabiliTrak, Reduced Power Steering Assist and TPMS light came on. I shut the truck off and restarted it a couple of times with no luck. I had OnStar do a quick diagnostic check and 2 codes were present. OnStar advised that the steering needed to be fixed in 7 days?? StabiliTrak needed to be looked at immediatley. I went into a store came outside 30min later started the truck and no lights or warnings. I started driving down the road and the lights and warnings popped up again. I parked it over night started it up no codes. When I left for work the warnings popped up on the screen again. Dealer said they haven't had any similar problems. I go in on Thursday to get it fixed.

So just curious how do you find this truck "amazing" and you "love it" when it already has caused you problems?? I want to understand this way of thinking as you are not alone. I am completely different, if a vehicle (or anything for that matter) has a bunch of problems and or leaves me stranded or has me return to the place of purchase needlessly that I paid good hard earned money for, I think it’s a piece of junk and I hate it. This is like pen that doesn't write but yet one keeps using it and love it.. I just don't get it please explain. I am not trying to provoke argument or get anyone riled up here just wondering.

Um you can like the truck but be annoyed with the problems. Nothing in life is perfect. You must hate everything...

Issue #1: Heated seat (driver side) works sometimes, and then it doesnt get very warm when it does work. Dealer working on that issue.

 

Issue #2: This one concerns me, the 4WD quit working on me in the middle of a snow dump. Daughter was riding with me, told me she thought we were having "issues", sure enough, the "Service 4WD" was up on the DIC. Stopped the truck, restarted it, only light on the drive selector that stayed lit was the "auto", but it wasn't in any type of 4WD, almost caused me to have an accident when I stareted up a hill. Called On-Star, put me in touch with Chevrolet Roadside Assistance, wanted to tow it to a dealer where I refused to purchase a vehicle in the past, so I took it to a level parking lot and parked it. I'm seriously thinking about getting rid of this one, I got it back to my house (well, 1/2 way up my driveway), I don't need something laying down on me with 4,500 miles on it that had a sticker of $53,000.

 

You obviously did not get the optional "positive 4WD engagement package" for $ 560.

 

Yes, it increasingly appears that quality at GM is optional.

If I got pissed and hated every piece of technology and/or machine in my life when it acted up, my house and garage would be empty. Everything is relative.

I choose to hate certain people that prey on those that can't defend themselves. Watch the news, talk to a soldier, do a ride-along with your local police dept., go sit and observe a court session. People have the ability to choose right from wrong. A truck doesn't have the luxury of choice. It works or it doesn't. Steve1234 I choose not to hate my truck and call it a piece of junk because of a few lights on the dash. It is the most amazing vehicle GM has produced yet, I can't wait for the 15' Yukon's. Call me loyal call me stupid I love the truck. I also love puppies and boobies even though they both have the ability to ruin a home.

Ecm update (recall)

window regulator (recall)

clunk in drive train

dash rattling

Radio/fan lights

Poor fm reception

blower motor makes high pitched whistle when on defrost...

hopefully they get it all fixed...supposedly they pre ordered the parts when i called 3weeks ago to set up this appointment...what parts remains to be seen...

I have no idea what the relevance is between a criminal and an automobile, and certainly don't think this is the "most amazing vehicle GM has produced yet" but each to their own. It's not a person an animal or even a household plant, it’s a vehicle. But again that is just my opinion. I clearly command a higher level of excellence from a device that I spend my money on than some of these dyed in the wool brand loyal guys.. I'm glad you are happy with your purchase.

Clunk in drive train, and rattle in the dash will most likely not get resolved quickly. Prepare to accept the dreaded NORMAL verdict.

If they fix the radio reception, please post what the solution is. When I asked my dealer about this they ssaid they had a number of complaints but it's "operating as designed" so in 2014 and GM's best efforts can't get a radio to work.

Nitrocherokee was right.I took my 2014 silverado in today and showed them info and they later came back and said" the reprograming for the "recall" also took care of transmission shifting problem...it seems it has on the way home!!!

 

Thanks Nitro...it opened my service managers eyes.

Well... of my several issues 2 are being fixed.. I fixed the radio knobs my self but dealer in ordering a new climate control head to replace the one with no light. They are also ordering the defroster vent trim (warped badly in front of steering wheel)

issues not resolved:

Drive train clunk (couldn't duplicate even though I did several times after leaving)

I have a vibration and SPECIFICALLY asked to have the tires balanced with the oil change and rotate and they didn't..why I don't know and vibration is still there... my blower makes a high pitched whistle when on defrost (Attributed to design flaw and the way the air moves over the air flaps)

 

and I guess according to our beloved GM we just have to deal with horrible fm reception and fogged up headlights. ..hmmm.. have neither issues on my 07s with 205k and 217k respectively. .. guess we pay extra for that kind of quality on these new 50k trucks..

Also has anyone noticed that after you turn your fan/heat/ac off...unless you turn you climate control to front vent and recirc after you turn it off it continues to blow hot air?
